YHC appreciates everyone putting up with Shark week, and as it appears, Bleeder can’t run from here to there without collapsing, (please use your best Col. Nathan R Jessup voice when reading that line) YHC is glad the bike is still a viable option for moving at HROS ( High Rate of Speed)

Being able to Q a unique event that’s almost mini-CSAUP is always fun, although, like a good shark attack, you never know when they will strike, but being able to read the signs is helpful. Gee, Bleeder’s signed up to Q at the end of July or beginning of August has become the leading indicator. Happy to be able to report that we did catch a few folks unaware of the events that would unfold in the gloom this AM.

Glad to see Viral back in action this morning!

With a solid three guys at the COP, YHC was thinking triple check city for the entire workout, and we discussed if we had seen Sippy crossing the nickel bridge on the way in this morning. Sip always arrives running in about 30 seconds prior to launch; however, today Sippy’s arrival was slightly delayed. He drove. It did beg the question, which is faster driving or running. Sippy did explain that he had gotten up early to get ahead on work and decided to drive; but the Professor had limited knowledge on the time and distance when it came to traveling by car; especially when factoring an empty fuel tank and no Smart tag.

Yes, it’s been 5 years of F3 in RVA.

The celebrations this week ranged from an email from Toga(now F3 Nashville) to J’ville and Loose Goose leading the workouts almost on the actual launch dates (9/19/14) and a Conspiracy siting at 45 Minutes of Mary, DK & YHC were the two attending today’s convergence that were at the first week.

The impact that F3 has had on life here in RVA extensive, more folks are in shape( or on the way there) , guys have a new network of friends that they didn’t have before & the many adventures that some of us have been on; the were epic; from several GORUCK events & BRR trips and the training that those required & an odd trip the NYC or the farm. At coffeeteria, Bodo’s asked YHC “who I knew before from the first group that worked out?” I didn’t know anyone from RVA that first day five years ago. It’s been an honor and pleasure to be with you guys.

The next 5 years… where do we go from here?

  • THIS IS US

    THIS IS US

First,  HoneyDo, thanks for organizing this past weekend, YHC knows that organizing a group of F3RVA guys can be a challenge in and of itself; and then adding other folks from F3 can add another layer of complexity that is not known to most. HoneyDo, thank you!

To everyone that participated this weekend and in the GORuck event itself,  thanks for extending yourselves and being examples of servant leadership and hospitality for F3RVA.

This morning, after the work, SAAB shared some news about a neighbor of his that YHC knew.  YHC was shocked and saddened to hear the news that he had passed away this weekend at 47 years old, leaving behind a wife and 3 kids.

    Unfortunately, life is short.

The ability to be a leader when times call for it, but also show humility and grace,  is the culmination of how YHC views how the PAX in F3RVA operates.   Having the courage to face a challenge and deal with it.  YHC wants everyone to know that we are all in this together, if one man is pushed,  The Region is pushed.

Being examples of servant leadership is who we are.   Continue to reach out to those that may need F3 in their lives,  you never know where a man might be,  and you could be that one beacon that makes all the difference.

    Humbly,

    Bleeder

20 running RAMM veterans and 3 RAMM Gear guys arrived for some ambulatory activity.

    THE THANG

As YHC crossed Cary this morning, Big Blue was already preached in the standard location surveying the AO. Swirly gave me the birthday greeting as YHC climbed into the truck. Vinny was not far behind acknowledging the tripping of another decade.

With the good fortune of another injury, YHC was able to see everyone while running or being passed by everyone today( Off Shore at least three times) Lug Nut also coming off an injury and Swirly with the optional Weight Vest(if he put in 20 more lbs he would be at my weight) kept pace with YHC. Thanks for Dragging me along guys!

    A 50 Bleeder OUT!

  • Slip sliding and Acuras

10 Spider regulars opted for a flat start at Grove and Libbie, although ice was still prevalent, the running ensued.

3 Routes Down Grove to 195,4 Mile, to Cleveland, 5 Miles, or Davis, 6 miles, with the added option of running for 23 minutes and just turn around.

    TYA took us out.

    Moleskin

When YHC arrived at the alternate AO, Big Blue, had three occupants, TYA, Kubota, and of Course, Swirly. As YHC entered the vehicle, TYA had already belted himself in – Safety First. No worries, YHC easily climbed around.

TYA began to explain the route down Grove, across Three Chopt to Iris Down by the Golf Course, etc. . YHC thought perhaps that TYA had stuck another car in a ditch & just wanted to get push from some kind hearted F3 Men. Oh, the fun of TYA’s jokes…

As the group headed down Grove in the correct direction, all feet we being put down as to not loose any grip. Handshake, however, found a slick spot and decided to engage in a reverse involuntary Burpee. MAN DOWN, MAN DOWN. One fellow F3 stopped to aid assistance, others didn’t want to break stride for fear of ending up in the Ice Vortex Whirlpool that Handshake found himself sucked into ( Hand Shake, YHC hopes the bruises don’t last too long, it looked like it hurt)

As the Kubota, Handshake, Vinny and YHC were almost back at the AO, an Acura was traveling at HROSFC(High Rate of Speed for Conditions) made Kubota and Handshake dive out of the Street to avoid a possible collision with the car, YHC and Vinny, witnessing this death defying feat, made some evasive maneuvers, and displayed appropriate traffic communication signals with our hands; to which the driver of the car rolled down his window and wished us a very pleasant rest of our day and thanked us for acknowledging his driving ability or lack thereof.

Vinny and YHC commented that 6 more runners would be right behind us should the driver decide to stop and engage in more pleasantries face to face. That would have been exciting.

Cofferteria was added at Starbucks, Kubota and Handshake ordering inline, YHC lazily ordered from the starbucks app to avoid the wait.

YHC is happy be back in the Q rotation after eight Months ( non-Shark related injury recovery), Special thanks to Lockjaw for reminding YHC, and also for Actual posting while not being the Q.( which happens less than 38% of the time, Yes, Lockjaw’s normally Q’s 62% of the workouts he attends, go ahead TYA you can verify it on Big Data)

As BT said he was almost as soaked today as he was on the Hill run Last night, The pool was definitely cooler than the Hillcrest loops.

Thanks to TYA and SAAB for their Shark skills. MPD wanted to know why the Games were so short, and to quote her “You guys bring a lot of life to the pool.” YHC’s neighbor said the exact same thing- using slightly different language.

Sugar Sock mentioned that last year’s Shark Week was his Third F3 Workout, not exactly a normal workout.

With Swirly making sure MPD safely got out of the Pool without incident; all was well when YHC arrived back home.

    MOLESKIN

Although the temperature was half of what it was yesterday, and half the surfaces of the AO were covered in ice, and half of the Windows at Mary Mumford still had lighted candles in them, It was a full beatdown. Thankfully the wind was kind enough not to blow.

Just the other day, a member of the Woodfin team mentioned someone was half way through the challenges of a medical treatment, by mentioning half way, YHC had no idea whether the time frame was in days, weeks, or years.

Being that today is YHC’s birthday, this prompted YHC to realize that YHC has been married for half of YHC’s life. Another humble observation that YHC has known TYA for Half of YHC Life as well. Half-way markers always around, it by choice to notice them or not. Sometimes picking up a carton of Half & Half when you get Lunch at Ellewoods with TYA and Swirly, can prime the idea to make a theme for a workout. (TYA thanks lunch & the “half & half”)

The mumbly Chatter was heavy this morning, everyone discussing the in’s and out’s of School decision making about closing or be late or on time, Phonics great to have you at a Bleeder Q.
