  • One more minute of vigorous exercise

Five runners started off their Sunday right by hitting the mean streets of Midlothian. Pretty standard southern route that got us 6 miles. Great company and great conversation followed by more 2nd F at Starbucks.

After the run, YHCs watch said that one more minute of vigorous exercise was needed to hit the weekly quota. Great ideas followed on how to hit that last minute.

    Enjoy your Sunday fellas!

  • Cryptocurrency and Suction Pants

Very dark and misty this morning. But that didn’t stop 3 runners and 2 walkers from meeting up at Starbucks and getting it done. Runners got in anywhere from 5-6.5.

2nd F at Starbucks afterwards. The title of the BB is just two of this morning’s conversation topics. If you’re interested in investing in Bitcoin, Aisle 5 can tell you all about it.

    Have a great Sunday!

  • Five for 5

As the SOT PAX led by NTB ran across the street to NTB, the MOT PAX headed off for a slightly familiar Don Draper curated 5+ mile route. It felt colder and darker than usual…even with the headlamps blazing. But it was nothing that a few miles and good company couldn’t cure. Great conversation as Doozy ran back and forth (unable to slow down long down enough to keep the pace of the rest of us).

Be on the lookout for some upcoming CSAUPs and races including the Frozen Triangle in January, a Hardywood-spawned run/bike on the Cap Trail in March, Roanoke Half in April, and the Grow Ruck in May.

Make it a good one! Peace!

  • Where two are gathered…

One truck in the parking lot when YHC arrived at BWES this morning. Thank goodness for Senor Frog, who kept this from being a solo workout.

One lap around BWES just to make sure there weren’t any late arrivals. And seeing none, we called a hot potato. Here’s what went down…

COP: DQs, SSHs, IWs, merkins, LBCs, helicopters

    Mosey to jungle gym for a six pack: 5 pull-ups, 1 merkin, 4 pull-ups, 2 merkins, …and on down to 1 pull-up, 5 merkins

Alternating People’s Chair and Balls to the Wall…with the added special touch of push-ups while in balls to wall position.

11s on the blacktop with WWIIs and Copperhead Squats

Back to the front of the school for 11s round 2: Derkins and Dips

    Curb Crawl

    Pole Smokers and APBs

5 Minutes of Mary which included AHs, FMs, Rosalitas, LBCs, squats, and 1 minute of burpees.

Numbers, Names, Prayer Requests, YHC took us out.

NMS: Nice hot potato this morning. Feels like we got a lot done. And likely much more than YHC would have gotten done if solo. Great to catch up with Senor Frog in the gloom!

    Enjoy your Friday!

  • 100% is meaningless

Four Twin Team regulars gathered in the gloom to get in a 5K that featured some exercises along the way.

530 hits and 5 burpees to get started.

And what better way to kick off a 5K than with a trip up Twin Team. At each driveway up the hill, perform 10 merkins.

Head through Tarrington, perform more exercises including more burpees, American Hammers, WWIIs, and ball dippers.

Make our way back to JRHS with a sprint around the swamp track to help change up the conversation.

Then on to the jungle gym for some pull-ups.

BTTF for 5 MOM which included LBCs, APDs, Suzanne Somers, flutters, and something else.

Numbers, Names, Announcements, YHC took us out.

Announcements: Convergence at the Crucible tomorrow at 730. Get in a double dip with a trip to Dogpile first. Sit and Sip appears to be cancelled according to f3rva.org.

Prayers for OCs 2.0 Bennett who may have torn his ACL at football practice.

NMS: Great morning to be out in the gloom. Weather was perfect for a run with some bootcamp along the way. Great company and conversation as well. One member of the PAX was noticeably missing this morning….even after a 100% commit. You know who you are.

Have a great Friday fellas! Peace!

  • How long was it? …7?

Almost fall-like (but not quite) as a PAX of 10 hit up OTB this morning.

    Two walkers and eight runners.

Don Draper planned an 8 mile route for the runners as RVA half marathon training is now in full swing. The trip up Grove hill toward the end was a nice touch.

2nd F at Starbucks. Almost had the 10 PAX requirement for a free Rowhouse session this morning, but Draper had to bail early b/c of his Ms birthday. Happy birthday to Mrs. Draper.

    Great morning to be out!

  • Another Sunday, Another OTB

    Walkers walked, runners ran.

    2nd F at Starbucks.

    Nuff said.

  • Can’t get there from here

A PAX of 10 hit up The Forge this morning. According to the nearby news crew, it went something like this…

Mosey by the news crew so Snuff can get a shout out and circle up in front of the school for COP:

SSHs, IWs, DQs, Cherry Pickers, Jazzercise, Merkins, Tricep Extensions, LBCs, Flutter Kicks

Mosey to the amphitheater for 11’s:

WWIIs and Lt. Dans, box jump up the amphitheater steps in between.

Head around the corner and grab some wall for Jack Ass Webbs:

1 burpee, 2 donkey kicks; 2 burpees, 4 donkey kicks; all the way up to 10 burpees, 20 donkey kicks.

Attempt to head around the back of the school via the tennis courts. Locked. Oh well…no other choice than to scale a wall to jump over a fence.

At the walkway up to the football stadium, partner up for 10 jerkins and 10 derkins each.

Mosey to the base of Mt. Chaplain. What ab exercise should we do while scaling the mountain? Dealer called WWIIs and WWIIs it is (5 at each stop along the way).

BTTF for 1 MOM: Dollies and American Hammers

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayer Requests, Last Call took us out.

    Announcements:

SOJ Takeover week continues for one more day.

    2nd F lunch, 6/22, 11:45 at Torchy’s Tacos on Huguenot Road

    SOT/MOT pre-order open until 6/27…. https://f3.mudgear.com/products/f3-source-of-truth-pre-order-june-2023

NMS: Beautiful morning to be out at the Forge. YHC hasn’t posted at SOJ’s northernmost AO in a little while…and was glad to be back out there. Great to have Heist and Swoop visiting from Deep South SOJ…and to see Fresh Prince back in action (that dude can box jump like no other). Apologies to the rest of the PAX for thinking we could easily mosey around the back of Huguenot High School. With locked tennis courts, Machismo decided that the only way out was a quick wall climb to get over the fence. At least one PAX member got in an earlier than planned vasectomy while getting over the fence.

    Enjoy your Thursday fellas! Peace!

  • Coming in hot

Four PAX joined YHC at DaVille this week to enjoy an SOJ-style beat down. Here’s what went down…

Mosey from one parking lot to another for COP:

SSHs, IWs, DQs, Cherry Pickers, Merkins, LBCs, Flutter Kicks, American Hammers

    Mosey to practice field.

Bearpees: Lining up on one side of the field, PAX crosses the field by performing 4 bear crawl paces followed by a burpee. Repeat with 8 bear crawls and 2 burpees. Repeato with 12 bear crawls and 3 burpees.

Dora: 100 dips, 200 LBCs, 300 squats. Runner crosses the field and back.

Love Hill: Partner up. Starting in the end zone, partner 1 runs to the other end and back while partner 2 polar bear crawls. When partner 1 makes it back to partner 2, switch it up. Continue until the pair has traversed the entire football field.

The DaVille boys keep a close eye on time. Time to head BTTF.

2 MOM: Tricep extensions (nope…they were not a fan) and Dollies.

Numbers, Names, Announcements, YHC took us out.

Announcements: SOJ Takeover week continues through Friday….come get some!

NMS: It’s about a 25 minute drive to DaVille from YHCs abode. The only other time YHC has even been to this AO was during the Century Classic relay back in 2018 (we should do another one of these). YHC arrived around 525 to an empty parking lot except for a couple walkers and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was going to be a solo SOJ Q in DaVille. Corn Beef rolled up a minute later and revealed that the DaVille boyz come in hot. And they did…with Opus, Bulkhead, and Speakeasy showing up right at launch time. Great to catch up with these fellas! Lots of conversation about running and races (which was right up YHCs alley).

  • Backward route

Four runners lit up the streets of Salisbury for this week’s edition of OTB. Route was familiar but backwards from the usual…and so seemed a bit different. Thanks to Draper for guiding us along.

Runners got anywhere from 5.5 – 6.2. All of the world’s problems were solved.

Really couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful morning for a run.
