NMS: What a beautiful morning to be out at Twin Team. How is it June 9 and only 56 degrees? TT is such a great AO…always more to explore than possible in 45 minutes. After two weeks of going down to the river, watching the sun rise, and listening to Yacht Rock, YHC decided to take the PAX to the swamp instead. Nothing like a good beast. Great to have Escobar out for his second time at TT…keep coming back!

During the Dora, a vehicle pulled up in the parking lot and started honking at the PAX. YHC immediately wondered who this Karen was. Were we running around their precious parking spot? Turns out the Karen was actually OC just stopping by to say hi before heading to the airport (and driving his Ms vehicle). The PAX appreciates the love OC.

    Enjoy your Friday gents!

  • Hey, we’re trying to socialize here

It has been a minute since YHC Q’ed a bootcamp (and apparently Q’ing a run doesn’t count). 8 HIM joined YHC on the lush fields of No Toll this morning to get the day started off right. Here’s what went down…

30 second late start waiting for PAX coming in hot. YHC received some jabs over starting late so off we go. Mosey to back parking lot.

COT: DQs, Imperial Walkers, LBCs, Flutter Kicks, TTTs, Tricep Extensions

    Ascending Quarter Pounder:

Run to 25 for 25 merkins, Bernie back.

Run to 50 for 25 merkins, 50 squats, Bernie back.

Run to 75 for 25 merkins, 50 squats, 75 two-count mountain climbers, Bernie back.

Run to the end zone for 25 merkins, 50 squats, 75 two-count mountain climbers, 100 SSHs, Bernie back.

One round of Killer B’s: Bear crawl half way across field, repeat 5 broad jumps, 5 burpees until crossing the rest of the way

    11s: Box jumps and WWIIs

With plenty of time remaining, the PAX earned another round of Killer B’s.

Indigenous people’s run around the entire perimeter (and BTTF) with last person doing 5 merkins before catching up.

5 MOM: American Hammers, WWIIs, Flutter Kicks, Dollys, Crunch Frogs, and more that I can’t remember

    Burpees until time is called.

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayer Requests, YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

Oyster Pays lunch this Thursday at Rusty Taco (1145 till ?)

May 21: Family time with basketball and grillin at Bettie Weaver, 530 (see OC for more details)

    May 6: CSAUP (see Gomer)

Prayers for Chippendale who is recovering from a minor stroke on Saturday. Glad that all is well.

NMS: Great to be at No Toll this morning with these fine gents. Appreciate OC turning down the Q at Old Hundred to join YHC this morning….and appreciate Gumbo crossing the river. And appreciate the rest of y’all too. Today’s Q involved a lot of counting. So much so that it cut into the mumblechatter a bit too much. The BB title is a quote from DK…who wasn’t letting all the counting mess with his conversation.

Have a great day fellas! Thanks for letting me lead. Peace!

  • How to kill a robin

SOT or MOT? Of all the PAX hanging out at Midlo Middle at 530am, three decided to hit the streets for a run. Down Mt. Midlo, up the Grove hill, down Manders, back up Woolridge to Charter Colony, and finally back to MMS. Mileage was just under 5 this morning and with a few minutes to spare, we joined up with the SOT PAX for some alphabet tracers.

Numbers, names with the SOT PAX. Honeymoon took us out.

    Announcements:

-SOJ happy hour, 5:30/6ish, 4/14 at Diamond Billiards

-CSAUP coming in early May….details to come from Gomer

NMS: Rosetta has recently been dealing with a robin at his house that crashes into a window multiple times a day and craps all over the place. His simple question for YHC and Honeymoon was “how do I deal with that?”. Honeymoon didn’t hesitate to respond that the best thing to do is “kill the mother f____er”.

Safe travels for Rosetta and his M as they head to Mexico next week. First time they’ve been on a 7-day vacation together (without the 2.0s) in 10 years. Let’s see if they both make it back.

  • An Unexpected 11

Unfortunately, most of the usual OTB suspects were out this morning. To get in today’s required training mileage of 14, YHC met Draper at 530 to get things started a little early. A quick(ish) 3 mile loop brought us back to Starbucks by 6 to pick up Rosie, who was looking for the usual 6-7 OTB mileage. Another loop and 7 miles later brought us back to Starbucks. YHC was expecting to bid farewell to Rosie at this point, but when it was revealed that the final loop was just 4 more miles, he was feeling good and all in.

The temps were great for a long run this morning. Thanks always to Draper for making up the routes. Over two hours of running (coupled with YHCs short attention span) is too long to remember everything that was discussed.

Safe travels for all those on vacation this week for spring break. Apparently Boberry got sick on vacation last week…so prayers for his speedy recovery.

    Peace!

  • Gettin’ it done

One walker and four runners hit the mean streets of Midlothian for this week’s edition of OTB.

Gumbo rolled in looking for a porta-john and seeing none decided to desecrate Starbucks before the baristas knew what hit them. Feeling the weight of last night’s dinner off of him, we were off.

Runners got in a well paced 6.5 before returning to Starbucks. YHC and Draper took off again for an additional 4.5 to hit this week’s training target of 11.

Not sure of Nancy’s route although we did encounter him along Coalfield. Regardless, Nancy got it done.

Safe journey for all those traveling for spring break or whatever.

    Have a great Sunday!

  • Exit Ramps and Little Detours

Three walkers and six runners met up this morning to get it done.

To help Honeymoon prepare for his upcoming Palmetto relay, runners clocked in a little more than 9 miles with a Gumbo curated route through Salisbury and Powderham. Boberry started his morning at 5am in order to get in the nine and still hit up early church…strong work Bo!

    2nd F followed at Starbucks.

    Enjoy your Sunday fellas!

  • No track this week

With the purity of OC’s cadence never in question, the runners ditched the track this week for some miles through Salisbury.

530 arrived with three boot campers and five runners present. Boberry and Doublemint started a ruck at 5 and were expected back for the start. Alas, deep conversation must have ensued b/c neither were anywhere to be found at 530. So five started off on a five mile run that included hills and some tempo (thanks to Rosie).

BTTF with one minute to spare. Bootcampers joined us. OC led COT and took us out.

Boberry’s car was still in the parking lot when runners and bootcampers converged, but he was still nowhere to be found. Sometime after COT, Boberry finally joined us. After rucking, he apparently took off after the runners on his own Salisbury route. Nice work Bo!

Prayers for OC’s mom who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Prognosis looks good.

Announcements: Diamond Billiard’s happy hour second Friday of every month, Oyster pays for SOJ lunch on the 4th Thursday of every month (March will be Wong’s tacos)

    Solid run today fellas!

  • Pinkys Up

Five runners and three walkers gathered for this week’s installment of OTB. Don Draper supplied an 8 mile route that took the runners down Otterdale, through Rosemont and Salisbury. A 3am message from Draper let us know that the norovirus had infiltrated his household and he wouldn’t be joining.

Nice 2nd F at Starbucks afterwards.

Prayers for Draper and his fam. We appreciated the route and hope everyone recovers quick.

  • Murder Mambas and Bunny Humpers

Last morning with F3 Cape Fear. Q was celebrating his 41st birthday and definitely brought the pain this morning. Here’s what went down:

*Down the hall – Double Block Merkins on each Cindy – bear crawl and crawl bear increasing reps

*Fall off and catch up – 10♦️ Mericans

*41 plank hold each pax had to count to 41

  • Dark Webb / F3 Cape Fear – Break Point

Back at it today in Wilmington, NC. Not sunny but getting close to 70.

    The Thang:

Dark Webb…. rep counts 1:2 – 10:20 Jack Webb (merkin: shoulder press) House of Payne (Squat jumps: Bonnie Blair’s/Ball Dippers) Big Boi Heels (BBSU: Heels to Heaven) Happy Jack (Burpee: SSH) in between each exercise we moseyed around the parking lot.

Been a long time since YHC did a dark webb. This was killer on the legs and will likely make an appearance sometime relatively soon.
