We missed Honeydo, but as Atilla pointed out it would have been two days in row. Always good to see Lighthouse and hear/smell Atilla.

NMS – quiet day, we were missing some regulars but the hot temperatures were definitely not missed. It was great to have a FNG today (Lasso) named affectionately after Ted Lasso. Lasso is the husband of Lighthouse’s niece. They are from outside of Kiev, Ukraine and fled because of the war. They will be staying with Lighthouse and his family for a period of time. Lasso played professional Soccer and is originally from Western Africa, Biafra which is part of Nigeria. Lasso is currently in school and wants to get into Soccer coaching. Lasso seemed like a great name for this motivating FNG.

Prayer Requests – Aggie – Q-Sacks EH’er who is battling Testicular Cancer, Lab Rat and his recent scare then good news, Tryhards Sister, Pax member going through family stuff, Seymore’s family friends son, and other that has unfortunately slipped YHC’s mind.
Announcements – The Healing Place Saturday workout starts off next Saturday at 0730, see Slack for details.
NMS – Lots of people on vacation and after two weeks of no Q on Friday EF Hutton and YHC decided to do the Bash Brothers Breakfest Club/Dogpile Combo. It was nice to have Q-Sack in town. Q-Sack is from Richmond and now lives in Charlottesville. He and his wife are in town this weekend for a wedding and are checking off places and restaurants they love while they are in town. The workout was great, only minor grumblings here and there. YHC has only Q’d Dogpile twice, and it can be intimidating but the lighter numbers and new faces were great. Backblast title comes from Wilson’s Slack post wondering if this workout even happened. YHC was always told 24 hours was the expected timeframe and YHC has been on the move since 0510 this morning.

Gypsy doesn’t share
3 dudes gathered for this weeks episode of Breakfast Club. Traditional route down Robinson and around the lakes to Dogpile. Direct route back with the addition of Sippy Cup. Gypsy brought the Shovel Flag but refused to pass it the others. It was hot and YHC was really struggling on the return trip.

OTB with the M
While on vacation last week YHC enjoyed some exercise on the Beach. YHC’s M considered it more of forced quality time, but it was a good opportunity to get some miles on the sand. Weather was nice, conversation was good.
NMS – this was the only real exercise YHC had while on vacation. YHC has/is dealing with some Calf issues so R&R was needed.

“If you don’t like what is being said, then change the conversation” – Don Draper
A quiet group of 7 gathered for this weeks Heartbreak Ridge and this is what transpired
Mosey around the front of the school and back around to the Bus Gas loop area for a COP which included various exercises
Mosey to the Bus Loop, and line up along the 7 Poles. Everyone does Pole Smokers but P1 does 10 and runs down 7 poles. P2 repeats until the end. Exercises to swapped at exhaustion to LBC’s and HRM’s
Mosey up to the loop in front of Pemberton Elementary School for a Triple Check. P1 does Wall Sits, P2 does WWII’s, P3 runs the loop.
Mosey over to the Playground on Pemberton Elementary School and partner up. P1 does 5 Pullups, P2 does Flutter Kicks (round 1), Freddie Mercuries (round 2). Repeat for 6 rounds.
Mosey to the field and do a Four Corners, Corner 1: 10 Burpess, Corner 2: 20 HRM’s, Corner 3: 30 Jump Squats, Corner 4: SSH’s
Mosey back to the Flag for 4 Minutes of Mary with various Ab exercises.
Announcements – The Bridge this weekend, Honeydo is the Q but if you’d like to Clown Car reach out to him
Prayer Requests – Johnsonville and Chum Bucket as they get through Covid
NMS – After a long 10 days of no F3 it’s always hard to get back. Easiest 2 ways to come back after a break is to: 1) Sign up to be Q: you have no made yourself responsible and expected to be there, no excuses 2) You choose the workout, so you can ease yourself back in or “pull off the Band Aid” your choice. The Backblast title comes from #2 “if you don’t like what is being said, then change the conversation” meaning if you don’t want to get your butt kicked by someone else’s workout, then sign up to lead.
YHC has enjoyed his 4+ years in F3. It’s allowed YHC to see what and how other people lead/are inspired to lead/lead in their own way. Also, it’s allowed YHC to see and recognize his own personal limitations and struggles. While vacation and sleeping in was really nice, it’s not sustainable for YHC’s mental and physical health.

‘bruh Code
8 of the West Ends finest joined for a run. After a last minute Q change YHC grabbed it. A route was planned from the toilet at 5:12 this morning. YHC rolled in at 5:29 blasting Beastie Boys “Sabotage” and a quick duck and roll and we were off. We deviated from the plan slightly because YHC missed a couple of turns but we got our 4 mile ‘bruh Code in.
Announcements – a non-convergence – convergence at Batteau on Monday, July 4th at 7:00. and there was something else…?
Prayer requests – Blue Moon and his recovery from Knee Surgery. Pinto and his recovery. Gomer and his crew as they recover from Covid.
-
ET phone home
A bunch of bikers and a separate group of runners joined for another rendition of a RAMM/RAMM Gears, Amateur Day. YHC isn’t sure where the runners were seeing as they launched at various times but RAMM Gears did the Reverse Carillion route with a few additional laps around the lakes.
Whitesnake takes the price for most crazy bike/outfit/ensemble. He was dressed as the kid from ET and he had ET riding in the basket on the front of the bike.
Announcements – The Bridge Q tomorrow for TYA. Anyone that wants to Clown Car with him should give him a call. Houseparty has his VQ tomorrow at Rock and Roll at 0700 at Rockwood Park
Prayers – continued recovery for Lab Rat
NMS – YHC had forgotten all the various silly things we’ve done over the years with the longer/warmer days. YHC was glad to bring RAMM Gears, Amateur Day back to Mary again this summer.
-
Amateur RAMM Gears tomorrow morning at Mary at 0530.
Bring your Schwinns, Huffys, Mongooses, Rollerblades, Rollerskates, etc and join us for a ride around the lakes.
