  • 🏃‍♂️ Conquering Burpee Lake (Two-Speed Edition)!

Beautiful Wednesday morning with four awesome guys today! We split into walkers and runners to make sure everyone got the workout they needed.

Hit up Burpee Lake where we crushed 3 push-ups, 3 sit-ups, and 3 jump squats at EVERY light post (my legs are still shaking)! Then moseyed back to the flag where our walking and running groups reunited.

Nothing beats starting the day with good people and a great workout! 💪

📣 REMINDER: Pickleball returns to Battae starting June 2, 2025!

Thanks for showing up today, guys! See you next time! 🙌

  • 💪 Getting our sweat on this AM!

Seven of us showed up for today’s workout on this gorgeous Thursday! Here’s how it went:

Started with a mosey to the front of Reveille United Methodist Church for our COP (deadmen hang, helicopters, SSH, you know the drill).

First challenge: A twist on the classic 11. Ran to the fence for 10 merkins + 1 WWII, then back to the other end for 9 merkins + 2 WWII. Kept going until we hit 1 merkins + 10 WWII!

Next stop: Church parking lot for triple check. One guy paced around the inner lot while the other two cranked out dips and jump squats, taking turns.

Moved over to Seventh Street Christian Church lot for four corners – push-ups, jump squats, SSHs, and sit-ups at each corner.

Finished back at the flag with a killer ring of fire ab session!

📣 HEADS UP: Pickleball is back at Batteau starting June 2, 2025!

Thanks for showing up, fellas! 🔥

  • Breakfast Club in the Crisp Morning Air

Two intrepid souls braved the Alaskan-like crisp cold of a Saturday morning for a Breakfast Club. We launched from the Elwood Thompson and converged upon the Dogpile. The crisp air and captivating conversation left us energized and ready for an intense(?) Oyster’s beatdown.

Cheers to a splendid morning, Bobbery!

  • Freezing PAX Take on the Valentine

    Gloomy Morning Beatdown

On a chilly morning, 18 brave men including an FNG, Mr. December (not Banana Boat) and a photographer from the Valentine Museum joined YHC for a workout. After a group photo in the pre-dawn gloom, we moseyed to the circle field near the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater for some COPs:

    • Deadman’s Hang x 10
    • Arm Circles x 10 (both directions)
    • DQ x 10
    • Helicopters x 10
    • American Hammers x 20
    • LBC x 20
    • Pushups x 10
    • Imperial Walkers x 10
    • SSH x 20

Exercise #1: Caroline Tower Partner Workout

    • Partner 1 runs up the tower stairs, circles the tower, and runs back down.
    • Partner 2 completes:
      • 100 Pushups
      • 200 LBCs
      • 300 SSHs
    • Partners switch roles.

Exercise #2: Monkey Humpers at the Square

    • Lined up facing the tower, everyone performed 20 Monkey Humpers while the photographer captured the action.

    Exercise #3: Four Corners

    • Corner 1: 10 Burpees
    • Corner 2: 20 WWI Situps

    Thanks to all who participated!

P.S. Fudd treated us to delicious eggnog!

  • New Faces on the Trail

YHC roped in a couple of FNGs (Friendly New Guys) for this morning’s trail run: one was fresh meat to the F3 workout crew, and the other, a transplant from Raleigh, NC, was new to the F3RVA scene. Six trailblazers, including three seasoned vets, kicked off their Sunday with a brisk morning run. The PAX tackled the Buttermilk/North Bank loop, crossing the legendary T. Pot Bridge for a total of 7 miles.

After a deep dive into the naming pool, the FNG new to F3 was christened EV (a nod to Eddie Vedder), while the Raleigh newbie was rebranded as Kashmir.

  • A Morning After the Election: Burpees, Stretching, and Pucker

YHC woke up to a Pucker in the morning—right after the election, no less—and thought, “Well, why not take a little field trip?”

We moseyed over to the Burpee Lake for a quick COP. YHC led some top-tier stretching exercises:

    • Dead Man Hang: Because who doesn’t like pretending they’re stuck in a tree?
    • Tippy Toes with Hands in the Air: Basically, reaching for the stars while feeling like you’re in a slow-motion disco.
    • Left and Right Side Stretches with Hands in the Air: For those who enjoy the sensation of gently being pulled apart by invisible forces.
    • Right Arm Stretch with Left Arm Pulling: Balance is key, folks.
    • Leg Stretches: It’s all fun and games until someone pulls a hamstring.

Next, we hit up a series of exercises at each light post: 5 x Merkins, 5 x WWII Sit-Ups, 5 x Squats. With one light post down for the count, there were a total of 28. Who knew light posts could be so demanding?

We then moseyed back to the flag, taking a scenic detour through the charming neighborhood on Westover Road.

Numbers, names, and announcements followed, and YHC wrapped it up with a solid take-out prayer.

Honestly, the best part was the company and the conversations that helped us forget for a brief moment that we are all, in fact, still waiting(?) for the final election results. Good times!
