  • DR at Terminus

In solidarity with YHC’s 2.0, who posted at Heartbreak this morning, YHC posted at Terminus in Atlanta. Another Proud Dad day!

TBR works at Chik fil a and had visited VCU’s location recently. He was very impressed with RVA, including the trail system. YHC hopes he posts next time!

  • DR in Oregon Territory

Two PAX from F3 RVA posted DR at Lightning Rod. After the COP, the Q led us on a mosey around the neighborhood. He brought a staple gun and fliers. Stop at every telephone pole and staple an F3 flier. PAX took turns calling exercises.

RVA PAX were introduced to Scorpion Taps – from a plank, tap each heel, then do a Merkin.

PAX did Monkey Humpers at an intersection in front of cars which elicited a reaction and probably made someone’s Monday.

PAX served coffee after the beatdown. F3 Oregon Territory implemented a policy of renaming 2.0s when they turn 18.

Joey Chestnut and YHC are looking forward to returning home today!

  • HR Derby Training

1×3 + 2×4 PAX emerged from 2×2 + 7×1 vehicles for the beatdown at Heartbreak Ridge. One PAX declared he hated baseball and burpees. Too bad they were both on the menu.

    The Thang:

Mosey around the track to the north end of the football filed for COP: SSHs, IWs, DQs, BirdDogs, Merkins, Scorpion Kicks, LBCs IC. Mix in a hip flexor stretch.

Take another lap around the track, pick up Fudd along the way, and plank up for Sally: while Moby’s Flower is playing, perform a Merkin on “bring Sally up” and hold a low plank on “bring Sally down”.

Mosey to the baseball field to the outfield beyond second base for a triple check. 2 groups of 3 and 2 groups of 4; or, 2 groups of 3 and a group of 4; wait, no, 1 group of 3 and 2 groups of 4 = 11. PAX 1 does SSHs. PAX 2 does WWIIs. PAX 3 is the timer who rounds third base and heads for home, picks up a bat, takes 20 swings, then head back to second base.

Mosey to the track for an incomplete intro to the Hardest Quarter Mile 150 Yards. PAX lunged for 100 yards. Then Broad Jump Burpee for about 50 yards, recover, and head back to the virtual shovel flag.

Announcements: Whitesnake is leading a group to the Bridge this Saturday. See Slack for details.

100 holes of golf, benefiting Renewing RVA will be on September 22nd. Contact Fudd for details.

NMS: With the HR Derby rainout, YHC decided to mix in some HR Derby training. You say there was no rainout? Gumbo drove the numbers down so he could win?

It was good to have Blackout out again and to meet Green Hornet.

At coffeteria, Lighthouse illuminated the way to save the U.S. economy (or not).

  • Reservation for 2 at the Club

YHC was just about to pack it up and head home when Hitchhiker pulled in to the club. We didn’t have a tabata timer, so we made do with 15 reps and a 20 second count in between sets.

COP with SSHs, IWs, DQs, Merkins, and Freddy Mercurys. Then we moved into the tabata phase with Curls, Upright Rows, Triceps Extensions, Bench Press, Sit and Press, Swings, with laps around the track sprinkled in between.

NMS: The PAX discussed summer plans, data science, AI, the job market, water bottles, and probably much more. It is always good to catch up with Hitch!

  • How Many?

The security guard reviewing the cameras after reports of illegal outlet usage caught a glimpse of the following.

    The Thang:

COP: SSHs, IWs, DQs, Suzanne Somerses, Teapots, Freddie Mercurys, Birddogs, Merkins IC

50s. At each station, YHC called an exercise. PAX are to perform 50 reps of the exercise. Breaks are fine, but PAX are required to complete 3 Burpees for each break. Each PAX who finishes before the six completes 3 Burpees. Transportation between stations alternated between Rifle Carry and Farmer’s Carry. Exercises were:

    Curls

    Step Ups

    American Hammers

    Tricep Extensions

    Upright Rows

    Sit and Presses

    Overhead Pulls

Mosey to the courtyard for a surprise… and a letdown (hopefully, mostly for YHC). YHC will try again soon.

COT: Labor Day convergence, 10 Year Anniversary convergence.

NMS: It had been too long since YHC had been to the Circus and needed the Qdrenaline to complete the beatdown. Attila tried to make this more complicated than the Deck of Death and White Deer could not get over the fact that the PAX did not show up at their assigned times nor park in their assigned spaces.

Thank you to the PAX for all the prayers for YHC and the family.

  • Four for One, What a Deal

Unlike Kubota, who copies and pastes the same BB 3+ times for Big Data Q credit, here are 4 backblasts in one, saving your precious digital real estate. Check out the first link below, where YHC was given credit for 1 Q and 2 posts in the same beatdown! YHC introduced the PAX to The Beast, though they didn’t think 6 rounds was enough (or, … YHC tried to call Burpees and they just put it off for two more rounds!).

YHC returned to F3RVA late last night after being with DOD/DOG (Dear Ol’ Dad/Dear Ol’ Grandad) in the hospital outside Atlanta. DOG was discharged to rehab yesterday after 4 weeks and is making good but slow progress. YHC is grateful for the well wishes and prayers from the PAX, grateful to the F3 Alpha PAX for looking after him, grateful to be able to keep tabs on F3 RVA via Slack, and grateful for the time to be with DOG and family. SYITG!

  • DR at The Galaxy, Marietta, GA

YHC is DR in Marietta because DOD/DOG (Dear Ol’ Dad/Dear Ol’ Grandad) is in the hospital after a bad fall. Prayers welcome!

Being with the PAX this morning was a needed boost. Wideright spoke fondly of ZZQ in Richmond and wishes he could convince his M that it is on the way to Ohio.

Not hard to remember the beatdown today: Long Slow 11s: 11s with chest press and tricep extensions at opposite ends of a long parking lot with a coupon. In between, travel Cusak-style (rifle carry). That was all we had time for – brutal!

  • F3 Race City – Honeymoon’s Roots

YHC and fam arrived at Lake Norman at zero-dark-zero and checked to see if there were any AOs nearby. The Glen at Stumpy Creek Park of F3 Race City is 6 minutes away – no excuses. Lots of mumblechatter and good vibes. The PAX sends their regards to Honeymoon, who started in this region years ago. PAX did a mix of bootcamp, exercises with coupons, and finished with some Ultimate.
