  • Lazy Monday

YHC and Mudface, and no one else, hauled ourselves to Tomato Run for one last lazy Monday.  We rucked/walked about 3 miles.

NMS – YHC and Mudface signed up for the Rugged Maniac 5K obstacle course on 5/4/19, and need to start running rather than rucking to prepare, so today was the last non-running TR for us.  Halcyon days indeed.  Any F3 brothers who want to join us for the Rugged Maniac, please contact myself or Mudface.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Time for the headlamp?

YHC and Mudface did our usual 3 miles, him rucking and YHC slacking.  Didn’t see anyone else in the gloom, apologies if we missed you.  Mumblechatter was about our looking forward to the cooler temps and other things.  It’s also getting to be the time where we’ll need the headlamp just to keep from falling over roots et. al. as we traverse the trails.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Can’t fartsack, gotta Q

Nine PAX and 1 tired Q showed up for a beat down on a nice, cool morning.  The lights stayed on and we did this…

Mosey 3/4 of way around church, then into COP-IC:   15 SSH, 10 helicopters, 15 LBC’s, 10 merkins, 15 arm circles (small, big, reverso), 10 Imperial Walkers

Mosey to pavilion for 50 skull crushers, 50 dips, 50 heels to heaven, 50 squats, Al Gore for the six

Mosey to parking lot for 4 corners, 25 merkins, 50 American hammers, 75 Freddie Mercuries, 100 split jacks, run, lunge, run, lunge in between

Find a curb for 11’s, boxcutters and merkins, mosey to the flag, YHC took us out

    NMS

YHC has been helping his M get ready for a camping trip, and stayed up late last night getting everything packed and ready so his M could get to bed early.   The alarm went off and YHC’s first thought was “I’m not going” quickly followed by the realization that it was my Q, so never mind that, time to go!  Arrived early and had a chance to talk with Flounder, discovered he lives within walking distance of The Creek.  There was some mumblechatter regarding the whereabouts of Emoji and Opus, and we considered trying to find Emoji’s house and working out in his front yard but weren’t sure of the exact location, so scratch that.  The PAX discovered that Yardsale’s nonstop talk about Atlee football is due to him being a booster and trying to put butts in seats.  On that note, there is a fundraiser on 10/6 at Atlee–for $20 bucks you can drive any Ford you want for a few minutes, many models available.  Spit and Spike talked the whole time while leading through pretty much every exercise, nicely done gents!

Thanks for letting me lead.  As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Embrace the Murph

It’s the first MANNdate of the month, so time for the Murph!  The PAX rolled out of bed and geared up to hoist some iron and a little running.

Run a mile, then do 100 halos, 200 demon crushers, and 300 lawnmowers, run another mile if there is time.

    YHC took us out.

    NMS

There’s a tradition to greet the month at MANNdate with the Murph.  Not everyone seems to recall the tradition, and YHC was happy to serve up the reminder.  There was mumblechatter during the run about fear of stepping in a hole as the route circumnavigated the whole school, and there are a few dips in there.  Congrats to Emoji for finishing the whole Murph–at least he said he “felt like” he did all the KB exercises 🙂    There was a lot of mumblechatter, but as YHC is late in getting this BB written, none of it springs to mind–I’m sure it was high minded and proper, as this is a hallmark of MANNdate…

    Thanks for letting me lead.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Here comes the rain…oops, maybe not

4 men and 3 2.0’s wrestled their way out of the fartsack and into a wonderful morning, cool and crisp.  This is what the paper says we did.

    COP SSH x 10, LBC x 15, arm circles 11/4, small/big, reverso, DQ x 10, SSH x 15, Freddie Mercury’s x 10, Helicopters x 15

Mosey to pavilion for Aiken Legs: 20 each-box jumps, split jacks, lunges and skull crushers, Al Gore for the 6.

On your six for ABC’s, capital letters only, English alphabet!

Mosey to corner of parking lot and partner up for Dora: 100 HR merkins, 200 LBC’s, 300 squats, switch from running a loop to lunging at midway point.

Mosey to flag: 20 each: 2 count shoulder taps, American hammers, LBC’s hold 6 inches for 20 seconds, then everyone plank, while each member of the PAX leaps over those planking.

COT, numberama, namerama, YHC took us out.

    NMS

YHC sent out a message last night that the Creek might turn into one, with a 70% chance of rain at 5 in the morning.   Did this scare some PAX away?  The parking lot and grounds were soaked, but not a drop of rain fell during the workout.  There were some near collisions during COP with people going crazy with SSH.  Mudface and his clan also brought forth the 4th F with gusto–thanks fellas!  During ABC’s there were suggestions about doing the letters in Comic Sans or Wingdings, perhaps Cyrillic, or even Chinese.  YHC would be glad for any of those to take place, might need some visual aids to make it happen.  YHC had only planned to do a modified Dora, but the PAX crushed it so just made it a full, with the modification of lunging rather than running.  YHC is amazed at how slow some of his brothers lunge–must be paying attention to proper form?  The HRM were no joke, and after Aiken Legs and lunges, the 300 squats were tough to grind out, but as usual the PAX killed it.  There were more shenanigans while jumping over those planking, and most of the PAX wisely modified to elbow plank to reduce risk of injury.  Great effort today, gentlemen!  Thanks for letting me lead.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Cool runnings

3 Davillians stumbled out of the fartsack and put in some miles this morning, and it seems like fall may be starting to make it’s presence known, as temps weren’t feeling bad at all.  YHC and Mudface did our normal ruck walk for a little over 3 miles, while Phonics put in a skosh over 5 miles of running.  YHC apologizes, but I have no clue about Phonic’s route.  Mudface and YHC did our typical behind the schools and into Honey Meadows loop, had to skip the trail today, unfortunately.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Time to get lucky

A fortunate 5 ventured out to throw around some iron.  Here’s what happened.

    COP, IC

    SSH x 20, Invisible jump ropes x 15, LBC’s x 20, DQ x 20, arm circles, small and big, x 15, Imperial walkers x 15

Mosey to bus loop for Lucky Horseshoe.

Start with 20 KB swings, walk around loop with KB, add 20 snatches, walk, add 20 helicopters, walk, add 20 leg lifts (with KB held straight up), walk, add 20 reach throughs, walk, take away swings, walk, take away snatches, walk, take away helicopters, walk, take away leg lifts, walk, finish with reach throughs.

Mosey to flag, numberama, namerama, YHC took us out.

    NMS

YHC realized late last night that he had the Q, and after looking for inspiration at old BB, also realized something new was needed, so YHC stole an idea from the comment section when Spit had Lucky Horseshoe at MANNdate, instead of running the loop, carry the KB throughout.  Also tried a few new exercises–the helicopter was tough and received well, leg lift (some decided to do presses with the lift) and reach through, which Mudface described as “so basically a Merkin Row without the row.”  Close enough.  None of the PAX came close to finishing, and the workout even elicited a “Holy Smokes” from Helix, which is praise indeed.  Mumblechatter centered around the upcoming storm, and YHC hopes all PAX stay safe.

Thanks again for letting me lead!  The Carpenter, I’m catching up in Q’s, and one ahead in posts for this year!  Just saying…..but it’s you against you, so don’t worry.  🙂

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • The Q has no idea

Nine Davillians, including 3 2.0’s, made it down to swim in the Creek.  Here’s how it happened.

    COP, IC

Sets of 15: Merkins, SSH, DQ, LBC’s, HRM, Helix squats

Mosey to field, partner up for Partner 11’s (courtesy of Mudface)

Partner wheelbarrow 15 paces, 1 derkin, switch up, partner carry back, 10 squats, keep going until 10 derkins and 1 squat.

Mosey to church for 4 corners: run to 1st corner, 5 HRM, carioca to next corner, 10 split jacks, run to 3rd corner, 15 Heels to heaven, carioca to start, 20 Freddie Mercury’s

Mosey to the flag, tunnel of love, then circle up around the flag for 10 each of American hammers, shoulder taps, LBC’s, mountain climbers and Helix squats.  Rinse and repeat all.  Hold plank for 1 minute to finish up.

COT, numberama, namerama, YHC took us out.

    NMS

YHC was struggling to figure out the Q and Mudface offered to let him use an exercise just dreamed up in Mudface’s nefarious noggin.  YHC explained it poorly to the PAX, who picked it up and performed it with pride.  Due to their excelling, the exercise exceeded YHC’s estimate of time, and YHC extrapolated that it would be an esteemed idea to not elongate 4 corners, so called an audible posthaste.  This left time for the fan favorite, tunnel of love, flawlessly fulfilled by the frenetic PAX, especially Flounder.   Annnd, that’s done….

The PAX worked very hard on a really humid morning, and YHC’s glasses kept getting fogged up, which prevented reading of the cheatsheet and led to remarks about the Q not having any idea what was supposed to happen.  Tunnel of love is always interesting, especially with 2.0s (and them being brothers).  We did have one FNG, but he had to leave before being named–we hope to see you back soon!

    Thanks for letting me lead.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Does walking count?

15 Davillians and 3 men completing the summer challenge descended on The Creek to try and break a sweat on a beautiful and cool morning.  Here’s how it went down.

    COP

15 SSH     15 Don Quixotes      15 invisible jump ropes      15 arm circles (10 small, 5 big, reverso)

    15 imperial walkers

    Mosey to bell tower

Bear crawl to first curb, ABC’s,  bear crawl to second curb, 15 angle grinders, bear crawl to basketball goal, 15 4×4’s, Al Gore for 6.

Mosey to  pavilion for triple check: one partner runs to road and back, the others do LBC’s and split jacks.

Mosey back to parking lot for 11’s: Merkins and American hammers

Mosey back to shovel flag for COT, YHC took us out

    NMS

YHC and family leave today for our annual trip to Hershey, PA, for all things chocolate, so it was important to get in one last F3 workout.  Somehow YHC forgot how late he is up before every trip with last minute packing, and barely escaped the fartsack this morning.  Some members of the PAX seemed to have wished YHC had not shown up, as their was a lot of mumblechatter during 4×4’s, although the PAX powered through all of it well.  The 4×4’s and angle grinders were new to YHC and some of the PAX too–it’s always good to do something different.  YHC had planned ring of fire to wrap it up, and wanted the 2.0’s to contribute the exercises. so asked them for suggestions.  That’s when one of Mudface’s 2.0s asked “Does walking count?”  Mudface was so proud!

Congrats to Rosie for finishing up the summer challenge, and YHC is unclear if Swiper and Offshore are done as well.

Announcements:  Puppy pile tomorrow, 7 AM.  Labor Day Convergence at Three Lakes park, see preblast for details.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Check that AO box

4 men rejected the fartsack and figured out a new traffic pattern to make it to Tomato Run.

The two visitors put in 5.5 miles going behind the school and through Honey Meadows.  YHC and Mudface again missed the trails due to rain, and figured out we haven’t been able to do them at all this summer.  YHC got the Q because when Mudface asked “Who’s got the Q today?” YHC answered “I’ve got no idea” then immediately face palmed.  oh well.

It was good to see Rosie again and meet Swiper, hope to see you guys at the Convergence on Labor Day!
