  • Lara Teague Curry 5K

We need one more Off the Books backblast today, so here it is:

An assortment of PAX converged on Trinity UMC this morning in order to remember Lara Teague Curry’s life by supporting the 5K named in her memory. EF Hutton, Seymore and YHC set-up and manned the F3RVA awareness table while Offshore, Chippendale, Bodo’s, Splinter, Bass Pro, Sandy, Vandelay and Joey Chestnut ran the 5K. Thanks to Gomer Pyle for getting us the spot for the table so that we could spread the word on F3 and it’s mission. Several wives took F3RVA business cards home to their husbands.

Another local teacher left us this week, the second one this year. My wife worked with the first one.

Mental illness is real, folks! Please make yourself aware of it. Reach out for help. No one will look at you as a lesser person. People care about you!

  • 55 degree Broga…

Is the best Broga. Also, when its in front of a church with a tall steeple. And, when Last Call brings his strap-ons, I mean straps.

We had fun loosening up for Last Call’s 55 degree sweatfest.

The weather app said cloudy, but the only cloud around was a yellowish-brown one that Hutton cooked up.

  • Pizza Party!

No time for the YHC’s usual Breaking Bread homemade BBQ dinner today, so a pizza party it was! More than enough pizza, salad, desserts and drinks for 10 wonderful souls. Always an honor to do this near my birthday and to do it with my kids.

Garbage Plate has it tomorrow evening!

    NMS:

What a great morning for the WestHoe Q’s to Clown Car(Truck) to Satan’s Hill and work out with these great men! This was YHC’s first post at SH and won’t be the last. It was hot, to say the least, with no air moving whatsoever. Plenty of new tricks were pulled out of the hat today that were founded in WestHoe. Wounded Seal is the new craze that will be spreading throughout F3RVA soon. You better hope the grass is wet! Block the Plank is easy for the first round, but rounds 2 and 3 are brutal! And Pencil Rolls? Well, they are just fun!

Thanks for working hard this morning, men! It was tough to breath out there this morning, but everyone pushed through and got a little bit better. Take that hard work with you throughout your day!

    SYITG!

Nice morning for a sweat fest! The only way there would have been a breeze is if Whitedeer would have shown up. Yes, go ahead and get on YHC for doing the same (almost) routine three days in a row. Great to meet Gaudi and to see Atilla and Lighthouse again!

Way to work this morning, men, and SYITG!

YHC enjoyed his trip to Manndate! Always great to see Corned Beef and to get to know Yard Sale, a fellow JMU Duke!! Lots of talk about kids, jobs, co-workers, colleges and other important aspects of life. Glad these guys came out and didn’t leave YHC solo. Not sure YHC would have done this routine on his own. Sweat was pouring this morning.

Numbers, Names, Announcements and YHC took us out!

    NMS:

What a great morning and group for YHC’s first post at The Old Hundred! Solid group of guys and hard work was put in by all. The audible from Sit-N-Press to American Hammers was well received, YHC believes. YHC was maxed out on Sit-N-Press and if you can’t do it, don’t Q it! YHC wanted to try some Kettle Bell Pencil Rolls so that he could tell Handshake about them, but time ran out.

Thanks for putting up with the repetitive routine and pushing yourselves to the max! YHC will definitely be back to the Old Hundred, even if Oyster is there again.

Have a great day, fellas and SYITG!

  • Just another HDHH at KK2

Splinter gets the Q because it was his idea. The order of the pax entering KK2 are in the pax list. F3RVA Nantan, Gomer Pyle, cringed when he walked in KK2. Apparently, there are better places to pay for and drink overpriced beer (eye roll). Only one half of a beer was spilled ($5 lost). Honeydo had, by far, the most interesting stories.

    Thanks for coming out!

  • Room Numbers – Partie Deux

Nine Nincompoops danced in the rain at The Hoedown this morning. The 5:30am alarm went off right when the rain was starting to get more annoying. Quick mosey to pick up Mr. Rogers from his car and off to the rear of the school and continuing on to a lesser used, grassy area, at the southern end of the schoolyard. Circle up for:

Dead Man Hang, Helicopters, DQ’s, Imperial Walkers, LBC’s, APD’s, Reach for the Lightning, More Dead Man Hang to go over some Hoedown history.

Head over to the school building and at each number on a window, door, etc., perform that number or combo of that number of an exercise. Exercises included upper body, abs, legs and Burpees. Bear Crawl, Lunge and/or Mosey between each room number.

When the pax reached the main entrance of the school, we spelled TUCKAHOE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL with our feet while on our six. EF Hutton may have spelled something different. The next room did not have a number but had CLINIC on the window. YHC gave Upchuck the Q for that little part of the workout. He called running a small loop while doing a burpee at every tree, post, bush.

After mostly finishing off the the school building, mosey to the car loop for a:

    Triple Check

Wall Sits, Flutter Kicks, Run the Loop

To the Flag for 25 seconds of APD’s

Numbers, Names, Announcements and YHC took us out.

    NMS:

It seems several PAX, including YHC, are on an F3RVA nostalgia trip. Whether it’s EF Hutton with the old podcasts, Splinter loading old backblasts into Big Data, Upchuck trying to figure out what his first F3RVA nickname was, the time Two Can chugged a beer right after one of my Dogpile Q’s (please pray for Two Can), or YHC reliving old Q’s by Q’ing them again, the history of F3RVA is important to remember and understand.

Splinter’s original Room Numbers Q was my second ever post and the rain at that one was twice as hard as the rain this morning. Flashbacks came back to when YHC started F3 in 2017. Splinter still had a kid in Pre-School and there was no Handshake yet. There was Honeydo but no Hornydo. Bodo’s was just starting to accept his name 🙂

We have said good-bye to several pax from that time. Moving away, losing interest, prison, etc. But, we have gained many since then. Let’s keep growing this thing!

    Enjoyed it this morning, fellas!

    SYITG!

4.5 strong for YHC’s version of Broga in order to prepare for a Yeehaw beatdown. It was fun.
