  • Breaking Bread

YHC took some warm food over to breaking bread on Sunday afternoon….folks were very appreciative as always!  Thanks to Labrat for creating this fine program!

  • Breaking Bread with the Kiddos

YHC and his 2.0’s took several warm pizzas over to Breaking Bread this evening.  My kids were able to help serve dinner while engaging in conversation with some of the residents.  What a beautiful thing to see as a parent coupled with the invaluable experience for the children.  Labrat, thanks for putting this program together, we love it!

  • Redskins, Bernie Sanders, and Serious Humidity

15 warriors resisted the fart sack  this morning and posted for a great start to the week.  Here’s how it went down:

9 Burpees = represents the number of points the Skins scored yesterday while being defeated.

    COP:

    Side Straddle Hop

    Copperhead Squats

    Merkins

    LBC’s

    Flutter Kicks

    Thang:

Quick lap around the neighborhood and back to the parking lot hill (going up to the blacktop).  Taking a page out of EF Hutton’s playbook we did the following:

Partner up:  Partner 1 does Bernie Sanders (Run backwards up, and run forward back down) 3 times while P2 performs Merkins and Burpees.  Then switch, until each team completes 100 merkins and 100 burpees together….

Mosey to the Top of Lindsay for the following:

-Pax Sprints down Lindsay all the way to the bottom, then partner up.  Partner carry all the way back up Lindsay….. Each time that partners switched during the carry, each man performed a set of booyah merkins…Once reaching the top of Lindsay, each man performed 3 sets of 20 partner leg tosses….

    Rinse and Repeat…

    -9 More Redskins related Burpees….

Mosey back to the flag for Ring of Fire and Cot (Gomer Pyle took us out)….

    NMS:

The humidity continued to be thick this morning in the RVA…. Mumblechatter was pretty light prior to 5:30 a.m., however, YHC learned from Honeydo that the skins lost and only scored 9 points yesterday.  Last Monday, Honeydo incorporated some Redskins statistical facts into our workout so I followed suit.

Upon YHC’s announcement of the Bernie Sanders exercise sequence, the PAX seemed almost universally unhappy with the number of Merkins and Burpees proposed….  Nonetheless we powered through….great work fellas!

Finally, Lindsay proved to be pretty difficult, particularly given the humidity levels.  That didn’t stop some PAX members from crushing it!  Also for the record, YHC hopes to never get in an official foot race of any kind with Splinter….As we sprinted down Lindsay, that dude reminded me of Justify rounding the turn for home in the Belmont Stakes… He was lightning fast while making it look like a stroll in the park….My short legs need to grow about 3 more feet to even stand a chance….Nice work Splinter!

Great to partner with EF Hutton and Handshake today….Have a great Monday!

Announcements: 4 year anniversary convergence at Dogpile. Followed by a cross country scoring event or a FNG friendly bootcamp, both at 7:05. Cookout to follow. CSAUP on 10/20 at Forest Hill Park – 7:00 a.m. start. Puppypile on 9/29.

Breaking Bread this Sunday Evening (5 or 6 p.m.).  Let me know if you’d like to join, I’ll be taking 2 of my 3 2.0’s….

  • Run Forest, Run!

13 Strong showed up on a beautiful Monday morning for a great start to the week:

    COP:

    Lap around the hood

    Side Straddle Hop

    Helicopters

    Flutter kicks

    LBC’s

    Merkins

    THANG:

Mosey to the top of Lindsay for a good old fashioned 11’s sequence (Merkins at the top of Lindsay Drive and Crunchy Frogs at the bottom)….

Mosey back to the flag for Merkin Ring of Fire, Mary (American Hammers X30, 6 inches X 30 count), COT, Numberama, Namearama, Announcements, and Splinter took us out.

    NMS:

YHC was excited to Q on such a nice morning.  In thinking about the plan last evening, YHC decided that although partner carries and wheelbarrows are fun, it was time to change things up.

YHC decided to challenge the PAX with something YHC isn’t so good at which is running.  What a better track (back and forth) than Lindsay Drive for some 11’s.  I believe down the hill one time is .2-.25 miles, and it’s a hard, steady climb back up (obviously same distance).  Doing that 20 times was a real challenge for YHC!   Tclaps to Garbage Plate, Gucci, Splinter, and Offshore for leading the way, man you guys are FAST!

Simply put, YHC loves how F3 pushes each of us to be better not only physically but overall as men.

Go get ’em today fellas, what a great start to the week!

    Announcements:

27 Warriors commenced this A.M. for a solid Field Day Beatdown that went something like this:

    COP:

    Side Straddle Hop

    Imperial Walkers

    Don Quixote

    Merkins

    Flutter Kicks

    THANG:

Mosey to the bottom of the AMP for some pre-Field Day warm up:

-Merkins up (171 Total) , Jump Squats Down (171 Total)

Mosey to the Field for a partner Race, here are the facts start to finish:

-Partner up, Wheelbarrow to the Middle of the Field (Each man does 20 PLT’s), Wheelbarrow to the endzone (20 PLT’s each man).  Repeat on the way back.

-Next Up and back was the same, but Partner Carries….

-Flutter Kicks, American Hammer, and 6 inches while waiting for the 6…..

Mosey to the Valley of Death behind the amphitheater.  Run Down and Up to the other side 1burpee.  Run back 2 burpees, all the way to 8…..

Mosey back to the flag for Merkin Ring of Fire, Mary (LOTS of American Hammers), COT, Numberama, Namearama, Announcements, and Honeydo took us out.

    NMS:

Great time this morning!  YHC arrived at 5:30 a.m. right about the time Gumbo was rolling in… Expected to see Big Blue, but no luck.  Swirly is getting his 2.0 from Bridgewater this weekend, safe travels!

PAX members rolled in heavily 10 minutes before 6 a.m.  YHC enjoyed some hilarious stories pertaining to pre- F3 workout preparation rituals, particularly one that Deuce is familiar with…. YHC will stop there as no details are necessary….

6 Sharp/Time to go to work:  After heading to the amphitheater for some warm up via merkins and squat jumps it was time for the Field day race.

In honor of our 2.0’s upcoming end of the year field days, we had a little race of our own.  Wheelbarrows, PLT’s and Partner Carry’s turned out to be no joke.  Mumblechatter quickly diminished, and it was on!  It was great to partner with Sippy, well done dude.  We all tried to catch the Fudd/Saabsky team but to no avail = Field Day Winners today, way to work fellas…. The Prize:  two 6 packs of adult beverages for each man coming your way.  YHC somehow forgot to mention that before the race started….

The PAX, including YHC was smoked after our race….However, as a final dose of pain we headed to the Valley of Death for some additional fun…

YHC would like to thank the PAX for letting me lead today, it was fun and I can’t wait to do it again.  Drink some water and try to stay cool, going to be a hot one!!

  • Breaking Bread

The following showed up for Breaking Bread this evening:  Kubota (and his 2.0 Husky), Mr. Roper (and his 2.0 Charlie), and YHC (2 out of 3 of my 2.0’s = Ellie and Charlie).

We had the honor of serving some bbq and fixings to a group of Richmond’s less fortunate this evening, what a great experience.  YHC enjoys exposing his 2.0’s to these experiences as often as possible…. Needless to say, YHC’s daughter (Ellie, 7 years old) and son (Charlie, 5 years old) had lots of questions about the wonderful folks we were able to serve, what a great learning experience for them.  It was fun to watch Kubota’s 2.0 along with the rest of the kids brighten these folks day, as they were able to interact and even play some rubix cube with the residents…

Best part:  YHC’s daughter said to Kubota at the end, “that was cool, I’d like to do it again.”

Great to meet one of Mr. Roper’s 2.0’s (Charlie, age 15), he’s a good kid!

Thanks for the assistance guys, and I look forward to doing this again.. Thanks also to Labrat for coordinating this effort from the get go!

    NMS

YHC appreciates 12 strong showing up to Hoedown this A.M., particularly after a successful CSAUP weekend!   Fudd made it known that the welcoming committee at the CSAUP finish line was too quiet on Saturday considering the circumstances.  YHC was not present at the end of the race Saturday morning, so no personal comments can be offered.  Fudd did however, demonstrate proper verbal support and tclaps for the pax while we finished Bear Crawling up Lindsay this morning indicating that “this is how to support your team members”.  Love you Fuddski!

Speaking of Bear Crawls, well done fellas!  That was a long way and Honeydo smoked the rest of the PAX…  YHC can only imagine what the driver of the passing car must have been thinking about 12 dudes crawling up his street at 5:40ish a.m.

Finally, wheelbarrows were fun today, right?  Great to partner with you Wedding Singer way to push it!

    Announcements:

    Swirly took us out.

    NMS:

YHC understood this AM that Kubota had revealed a “cone preview” via twitter last night. Spit said to “bring it”, while Wilson apparently was going to opt to Fartsack….. YHC then received an email from Splinter (Swirly copied) that we would likely have an F3 brother visiting from North Carolina… Being that this was to be YHC’s first Dogpile Q, the nerves started to slowly creep in. YHC could only imagine in his own mind that one of the F3 founders would be showing up.  Managed to get to sleep, however, YHC awoke at 4:30 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. without a chance of falling back to sleep.

The PAX was lively as usual upon arrival, then 6 a.m., BOOM time to roll….It was a blast Q’ing Dogpile today, thanks for all of the encouragement and assistance along the way. Welcome to FOUR FNG’s, credit to Hitchhiker for some major headlocking!

YHC would like to sincerely thank the PAX for your recent thoughts and prayers concerning something my family just went through. I am very grateful for the support, friendships, and many other things I get out of F3.
