  • Dirty Dozen for a Harvest Moon Old Glory

12 souls rose with the Harvest Moon knowing what was in store and eager to set a new PR, or just get sweaty.

Brief warmarama and stretch because YHC has a feeling someone would be rolling in late – and DK didn’t disappoint. Collect DK and the SF and off we go.

    Two laps.

Plant Flag, set timer for 20 minutes and GO – Corner 1, 20 merkins; Corner 2, 20 jumpsquats; Corner 3, 10 Burpees; Corner 4, 20 WWIIS.

Meet back at SF for 2 laps Native American style until the jail break was called with 1 minute to go.

    Log your laps her: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-L8e9W24ygnU0suaGyKxzi1PgPqY1CBd57hLrKTZI-g/edit?gid=1717732871#gid=1717732871

Great effort today. Fields were plush as always. And, our War Daddy (Doozy) led the way.

  • OTB Field Trip

YHC put out the call to the Sunday OTB crew to see if anyone was up for a field trip. 3 takers, so a different Starbucks was chosen for the launch and we met at River Road Shopping Center at 0600 for 8+ miles through UR, Westham, Huguenot Bridge and Riverside Drive. Hills, trails, fog, river and Rosie hitting the boosters up Hill Drive. Along the way, great mumblechatter as always and Don Draper may or may not have dropped a bid on a house with a view… Just another Sunday. A great end (or beginning) to the week.

  • Breaking Bread Sunday Pizza Edition

YHC and 2.0 Snare delivered an abundance of piping hot Genova’s pizza along with some homemade goodies and sides to the great folks at the Daily Planet on Sunday. As we walked in we got a hearty welcome and a joyous “we were hoping for pizza”. Boom, wish granted! Football was on the tv. Service and fellowship was had for a short while and souls were fed.

they were still talking about Vandelay’s sandwiches too.

fill up that Q- sheet for the last weekend of the month men!

  • Where did the Oxygen Go? And, how many cars?

4 guys launched for 9+ miles running and 4 walkers (+ 1 four-legged friend) took off for some easy miles and conspiracy theories.

half-mile into the run, YHC commented how much nicer it felt than Friday’s RAMM, but by the time we descended to the bottom of Otterdale and into Founders Bridge, we were questioning where the oxygen went. The long uphill slog began in Founders Bridge and continued up Winterfield – an aggressive route to be sure from a traffic perspective, but we made it back to the top and enjoyed 4 flat miles back to the VSF.

There seemed to be an unusually high number of vehicles out early this morning, including one on Old Otterdale – wait WHAT? YHC and Draper wagered on the number of cars we would see on our Winterfield climb – we surrounded the number – we will call it a draw.

Regardless of the lack of oxygen and the climbs, it was a great morning for some miles. Thanks boys!

  • Track Time for Three

3 eager club members decided to secure the early track time and get some work in to start the day. One running predictably late, but still made it in time for the first weighted exercise.

    Warmarama.

    Tabata Exercises:

    • Halos and around the world (waist)
    • Curls and Presses
    • Squats and Tricep Presses
    • One-arm swings – right then left
    • Rows – right then left
    • Sit and Press Boat and Canoe

One lap in between each and 2 at the end – avoiding the gaggle of young and better looking (and smelling) runners.

Numbers, Names, Announcements (SOJ CSAUP Friday – see slack and Crabgrass and throw a HC if your going) and YHC took us out.

  • Half training continues

YHC posted the 8 mile route and Cavity Search and Don Draper ran to the AO anyway. They came in hot – no walkers in sight, so the three of us took off headed toward Midlo High School and Manders and through Queensgate to the trail through the mines and ultimately down the dirt road into Salisbury at that point Cavity Search and Draper headed for home and YHC headed up Elmstead and back to the Starbucks. Each of us had a pit stop along the way for various reasons but 8 (or 8+) miles were enjoyed and the day was started off right.

Looking to crack 10 miles next weekend if any others training for the half want to join.

  • A soggy and glorious 1000

NoToll wouldn’t have it any other way. The rain didn’t scare off a might 18 from posting to NoToll hoping YHC has something better than an Old Glory in store. Well, not much better.

First, we all pay a 1-burpee toll for Heist’s terrible parking job. Done.

Mosey to the back lot for very quick COP (not doing 1,000 SSHs) – all IC – SSHs, DQs, Helicopters and we were off and running…to the pavilion.

THE THOUSAND – 5 exercises, 20 reps each, a run between rounds – 10 rounds. Exercises were: Merkins, Mountain Climbers (2-ct), Squats, Imperial Walkers (2-ct) and LBCs. Run was up to you – most opted for across a field and back. Some (Warby) opted for a lap around the field. Well done.

Mosey back to the basketball courts for quick work:

    • 10 Donkey kicks on the fence, bear crawl to middle of the court, mosey to end and back.
    • 10 Bobby Hurley’s, skip/bounders to the end, jog back
    • Finally….on your six for Freddies until the bell rings

    Announcements:

    • 11th Anniversary workout at Dogpile this Saturday 0630 start I believe – check Slack.
    • Friday 9/26 – CSAUP Lite – at the Alamo at night – give a HC if you are posting.
    • Still collecting shoes and shorts for Nancy to send to Safari the Beast – any shoes
    • Grow Ruck in November (first weekend) see NTB and L Woods

    NMS:

Love the magic number #18 today. That was YHC’s baseball number. Appreciate you fellas coming out in the rain and celebrating my 1,000th official, documented post with F3 today. It has been a great pleasure and I look forward to 1,000 more. Thank you for the fellowship, the strength and the motivation that you all provide.

  • Where Did the Walkers Go?

3 runners got in 7.65 – well Cavity Search probably got in 11 – BEAST. 5 walkers did something but there was no sign of them at 7:11 when the runners returned. Poof – gone. One theory was that coffee was not enough for Dumar’s birthday so they went for breakfast…who knows.

Rosie and YHC stayed for coffee.

In any event, miles were conquered, fellowship was had, the start to the day was good.

    Enjoy the beautiful Sunday!

  • Beware of I-Pax Downrange

YHC is in Va Beach today for meetings, so I decided to get a DR post in and got on the handy F3 Near Me and found a nearby bootcamp. Ever the eager beaver (or really worried about getting lost), I was early. I pull into the parking lot with 12 minutes to spare and guys are moving around. Turns out, we are starting early because this is Iron Pax 1 – a 50-minute workout. Womp Womp. Oh well, suck it up buttercup.

some stretching and warmup and then off to the track for increasing rounds of Thrusters (with 35 lb KB) and an equal number of 100-yard runs. 2-200, 4-400, 6-600…16-1600. I actually got to 18 Thrusters but I only completed 400 of the 1800 before time was called. 5 miles in all.

The Va Beach guys were great and had coffeeteria in the parking lot after. BOOM! Almost made the Iron Pax pain worth it.

    Always fun to post DR.

    Have a great day gents.

  • A little rain doesn’t stop us

3 runners launched for a 3.5 mile loop and we picked up Honeymoon for a second 3.3 mile loop and dropped Cavity Search at his house on that loop. OTB can be a chose your own adventure. Come get whatever miles you want and stick around for coffeeteria.

Four walkers and a four-legged friend were also out some miles so there is that option too.

Have a great Sunday. No More Gumbo For You!
