  • Eye of The Tiger

It was my 100th post so the PAX thought it would be a good idea I take the Q this morning. 5 HIM’s hit the Lumberyard for a Fit Cardio Circuit. Beaver and Choo Choo were already onsite playing pickle ball for a warm up – unfortunate news as Choo Choo has a lower leg injury that he is going to battle through – prayers up for him and hoping for a quick recovery! He still put in miles around the lumberyard while the other 4 PAX took off.
    Here’s how it went down:

Warm up freestyle on your own with some chatter – I put out a warning to the PAX stretch like you’re about to run 1 mile….and that’s how we started. 8:20 mile pace with the adrenaline pumping as we were listing to Rocky sound track. No easy way out, eye of the Tiger , Burning Heart.

    The thang:

    Side straddle hops x 30

    Squat x 20

    Side Shuffle x 20

    Step Back Lunge x 20

    Lunge twist x 20

    Toe Tap Skip x 20

    A Skip Clap x 20

    Push Up X 20

    Sit up x 20

Push Up Shoulder Tap x 20

    Alternate Leg clap x 20

Knee to Elbow crunch x 20

Push up knee tap x 20

    Standing Crunch x 20

    Burpee x 10

    Kick out x 20

    Plank toe tap x 15

    Plank knee drive x 15

Run 1 more mile! 8:11 pace!

Ring of fire with the PAX – all different workouts and ended with a spring half the football field and lunge back to the middle.

Beautiful weather this morning, great men,

    Yukon took us out.

    be where your feet are!

  • Apocalypto

3 HIM’s representing the lumberyard – we stretched and we ran miles. Great run fellas way to push through! We talked about 2006 movie Apocalypto – if you haven’t seen it, it’s a great film and it involves running….for your life.

We all supported each other through the run and ended on a high note – the tone was set for the day!

Some runs are good, some are a struggle. This one was good.

    Be where your feet are!

  • Lumberyard Ruck and Run!

3 HIM’s emerged to the Lumberyard for some heavy rucking and running!

Wonka and Beaver carried a lot of weight – I decided to venture off for a run and we met back at the starting point for names and numbers.

  • Mayo, Mustard and Ketchup

3 HIM’s emerged at the Lumberyard motivated and inspired – a quick stretch then we got right into it – 4 Mile run.

It was all business this morning – focus on the run, listen to your body, stay strong mentally and that’s exactly what the PAX did.

No better way to start the day Beaver and Choo Choo – great work men!

We had some great conversations about life, diets, mental health and how we are grateful to be able to do what we do.

    Be where your feet are

  • Lumberyard Ultimate Frisbee!

It was a beautiful Saturday morning at the Lumberyard as 6 HIM’s started the weekend off strong! Choo Choo surprised us with a Q toss up for me and Yukon! This is what went down.

We mosey over to the octagon for a warm up stretch led by Choo Choo – it was a pleasure to have Rosie come join us today as he was traveling to William and Mary to pick up his son.

Warm up – side straddle hops, merkins, knee knockers, arm circles, chinooks and some other stuff!

We made our way over to the secret hiding spot to collect the lumberyard coupons.

    The thang:

5 rounds and run to the cone and back after each round is completed.

Thrusters with a coupon 8 reps

    WW3’s with a coupon 8 reps

Curls with a coupon 8 reps

    Yukon with more beat downs

10 Stationary Lunges with the coupon then fire arm carry to the cones and back – 5 rounds!

Our shoulders were on fire – now it’s time for some ultimate frisbee on the field for 30 minutes of pure cardio.

We had a great game – WildWood, Choo Choo, Wonka vs Rosie, Yukon, Chowder.

The game was back and forth – lots of running, sprinting and changing directions. Some great plays and some not so great plays but it was a blast! Congrats to Rosie, Yukon and Chowder for their stellar performance and winning the 30 minute game 5-3!

We finished with an awesome annoucement from Chowder as him and his wife are expecting their first child! Congrats Chowder! The PAX was the first to know about this news, even before their families! Very Special – Yukon took us out with a great prayer.

It’s a pleasure to put in the hard work besides these men and lift each other up – as Choo Choo says Don’t waste the day! Have a great weekend! We miss Beaver!

    Peace.

  • Tabata Beatdown!

3 LumberYard HIM’s started the mid week workout with a nice Tabata Beatdown! We are lucky enough to store coupons onsite in a secret hiding spot (approved by LumberYard management) which is a workout in itself getting them back over to the clubhouse with overhead carry’s traveling a good distance. That’s just how we roll at the LumberYard.

The Thang: Tabata – with a towel!

It was an honor to lead the workout today with support from Beaver and Choo Choo who dominated as usual. It was a great way to start the mid week day in preparations for what is going to be a beast of a workout come Saturday for Beaver’s 100th Q!

Beaver and Choo Choo shared some nice parenting advice, the PAX was feeling good, Wildwood took us out in prayer, the Forecast looks great for the rest of the week, get outside and get moving! Let’s get it!

  • First VQ! Gorilla Complex! The rest is history!

4 hims made their way to the Lumberyard on a beautiful Saturday morning to support me in my first VQ. What an honor to lead these men! Beaver had already run a 10k as a warm up and around 17,000 steps logged before 8am. I wanted this to be a special VQ and to show my respect to Choo Choo who led my first ever F3 workout on November 30th, 2024 I wanted to recreate that day which got me hooked! Here’s how it went down:

    Warmarama – 7:00am

    • mosey to circle for stretching

    • Standing quad stretches
    • Arm circles both ways
    • Reverse scorpion

    COP 2 – 7:20am

With the legs and shoulders burning the PAX motivated each other through the entire Gorilla Complex! For Motivation and Mental strength we use Choo Choo’s quote “ Grateful to Feel this Pain” and it’s the truth! The PAX pushed each other and our party came to an end at 8am on the dot after the finishing bear crawls.

Shoutout to Yukon who is absolutely killing these workouts with an abdominal strain and it motivates the PAX! No complaints, embraces the pain and it’s an honor to put in work right beside him!

    names, numbers announcements

Will start reading more and sharing with the PAX on Fridays over coffee!

Yukon took us out with a nice prayer.

February 8th is approaching the PAX will be prepared.

Time to recover have a nice weekend!

  • Snow Ruck on a rest day!

1 HIM made his way to The LumberYard for a nice 2 mile snow ruck! Paid the late fee of 10 burpees it’s worth it to get warm immediately!

Snow covered trail made it a smooth 2 mile ruck around the lumberyard – peaceful ruck to scope the land as I prepare for my first Q this Saturday!

Looking forward to the seeing the PAX this week!

  • Ruck and a Haircut!

2 HIM’s met this morning at The Lumberyard for a nice morning 3 mile ruck to get the day started. Conversations about work, life, family is always a delight but I am very glad I spoke up about needing a haircut! And I was not so surprised when Yukon Cornelius stated another one of his talents as he is a barber! Excited to get cleaned up later today but the man himself! Having thrown around coupons and doing all the various workouts we do with our hands, can’t wait to see what he can do with clippers and trimmers! Excited for this week ahead as I may be Q’ing my first workout this Saturday proposed by Beaver and Choo Choo – which is an honor to lead these men! More to come!
