  • BJ and The Bear

Twelve incredible men showed up on what is planning on beign another Sunny & 72 day in RVA.

Here is how it went down. COP – changed up to a ring of fire style. Twenty of each called out exercise by the PAX. All in cadence. No repeatos. Second round ten of each exercise (speed round). In hind sight, second round wasn’t needed, but Fresh Prince decided to show up late so YHC felt obligated to include him! So many exercises to remember……..sorry Rosie. I do recommend the PAX to comment with their exercises they called out.

Short mosey to the far field for the BEAST! Inspired by Nancy Lopez and the Satan’s Hill Beast yesterday!

Welcome to the ALL BURPEE BEAST. Ok – so full disclosure before a comment pops up. I screwed up the deconstructed burpee in round two or maybe it was three. Anyway, I own the mistake, but hopefully it made us better. 4.5 rounds of a form of burpees was completed. Can’t say YHC’s form or counting was great or accurate. Looked sooo good on paper.

So YHC threw out an audible and inspired by Marmaduke and his finishes lately, we lined up and let it ALL out on the field to the start point. Seriously fast dudes in our PAX. Well done.

Wait….there’s more. Stop at the gate (screw it YHC is already over the time) for a line up and another all out sprint to the flag. Duke almost caught up to Fresh Prince. Almost. YHC took us out.

So your asking why the video of BJ and The Bear? Well, New Market has MANY issues, but we are pure at heart. We were chatting in clown car about Dukes of Hazzard (ok – so Marmaduke & Honeymoon watched reruns) and Nancy Lopez got all excited about a show called BJ and The Bear. Which apprently came on right after Dukes of Hazzard on ABC (seriously he knew the channel)! So enjoy the throw back intro to a show that has absolutely NO meaning. Seriously the guys best friend is a monkey named Bear and his name is BJ???? The 80’s were just different times for sure.

  • Old men, a youngster and a dog…..waking!

YHC was told recently that OTB was a running AO. Funny thing about that is runners need to actually show up to make it a running AO. So walking counts!

4.38 miles in just over an hour. Well done fellas and enjoyed the conversations. Great way to end a week of brutal workouts.

  • What exactly is a three finger bourbon pour?

YHC must thank Marmaduke, Honeymoon & Boberry for their timeliness and starting on time. YHC was merely a passenger on the journey to the AO. Nancy slept in and Herme started driving slower (thanks to chesterfield county holding him accountable). We arrive thinking we were solo, but nope three runners were on the move.

Duke passed the Q back and off we went. No COP today. Went straight into parking lot tracers. Then on to lightpole alley. Dealers choice with no repeats. YHC warned to select wisely. There were audibles and wild cards planned (suicides and laps around tennis courts). I cannot remember all the exercises, but we got in just under three miles.

Nancy almost tossed merlot, but soon found out he enjoyed two “three finger” pours of his favorite bourbon last night. On a Wednesday? I anticipate he is practicing his bartending skills. Herme took us out.

  • Same two old men walking and talking!

YHC and Aisle 5 continue to enjoy our solo Sunday’s. While we LOVE each others conversation topics, we would be open to other topics. LOL One of today’s was how a gear was made. Aisle 5 is an incredibly smart dude. I learned so much! Good stuff dude!

We got 4.5 miles in! Same path as prior week.

  • Old men walking & talking!

YHC & Aisle 5 showed up to Off the Books to see we were the only ones willing to break the fartsack and attack the day!

We decided ont he path and off we went. At one point the conversation was so deep, we really did not care what time we returned to the flag! I mean since noone else showed up…………….

It was GREAT catching up with Aisle 5 and the coffee even tastes better when he is around!

  • The MURPH!

The MURPH. YHC doesn’t really need to explain, but after the last one Nancy &YHC attend at Dog Pile, it might be needed.

    Run 1 mile

    10 rounds – 10-Pull Ups(oyo), 10-Merkin(in cadence) & 15-Squats(in cadence)

    Run 1 mile

Yup – that easy all together and always a good time.

YHC has been…………well lazy this week. Maybe just resting in anticipation for Hardywoods 4th convergence? Yup – thats it!

So, the MURPH was just what was needed to get me out of the fart sack!

Rosetta & YHC started and BOOM POG shows up mid first round. We rotated leading each round as normal, but what was not normal was the sound coming from Rosetta! Thought he was having a stroke at first, but nope he was practicing French……..POG and I laughed a bit but he continued. He speaks like 10 languages (YHC might be exaggerating, but French, Spanish, Arabic & English) is what I know of. Internally YHC laughed every time I heard 3…………..watch the video. I could not get past 3 again.

POG took us out and he took off up Satan’s Hill to get his .5 mile in to complete.

  • Satan Hill/New Market Tour

Three New Market regulars and two new additions woke and decided to tackle Satans Hill “official” launch. YHC rolled up right on time and we got started. A short COP and then came the options……………

Boberry chose option 2! Learn from Wilson….don’t pick option 2! LOL That drove the PAX to mosey to the bottom of Satans Hill. YHC passed the option to Nancy Lopez to pick what we did on the Hill! He chose Suicides….all the way up and back. FOur exercises on the way up. BRUTAL!

Round two of the workout – four corners which turned into a short tour of New Market PAX homes. 10 Burpees, 20 Burpees, 30 jump squats & 40 merkins.

Round three was a signature NM ground & pound. Grab a rock and 10 of each called out exercise from the PAX. Run to the stop sign in between each round. Superman – come on Rosetta!?

Sprint to the end of the parking lot to finish the workout.

YHC took us out. Great job today fellas. I enjoyed the beating. Be sure to update the passports and return as there is sooooo much more Satans Hill has to offer!

  • Choices and decisions………

Quick COP and off we went to tackle the cul de sack tour of New Market.

Today marks 22 years of marrage with Wilson’s Wife! 22 reps (some in cadence and some OYO) at the bottom AND top of cul de sack. Got to all but one in the hour.

Each PAX member chose exercises. Some might have seemed easy, but at times our choices don’t turn out easy…………….Arm Circles HAHAHA!

Recall took us out. Great job men!

  • Never too old to learn…….Right?

Just two old men walking and talking about stuff! Never too old to learn. We always learn something new on our walks.

We got in just over 3 miles. What a beautiful morning! Have a great day!

  • Sequan Barkley – WHAT A RUN!

Seven men jumped from the sack to attack the weekend! NM PAX worked extremely hard this week leaving NOTHING in the tank. GREAT job men!

After a short COP, we moseyed over to the Villages where YHC puled a card from Marmaduke’s deck of pain. Manhole suicides. We did six rounds with each round doing 10, 20, 30 & 40 of called out exercise. Looked good on paper!

Two 2.0’s entered the gloom and KILLED it. Welcome to Chuck (Cam Branch) who is a BIG NY Giants fan, but also loves basketball and his favorite player is Sequan Barkley, which then brought up Charles Barkley……….hence Chuck. At least he did’nt get Riggins! Welcome young man! Found the attached video and it is soooo great to watch sports again, even if its the Giants! Go BILLS!

YHC took us out. Go attack the weekend gents.
