  • BREAKING BREAD – NEEDS YOU

    BREAKING BREAD – NEEDS YOU

Saturday – June 29th… Who can help provide a few meals to the Daily Planet for Breaking Bread?

    What is Breaking Bread:
F3 Richmond has been supporting the Daily Planet for over 6 years (Think of this somewhere between our 2nd F and 3rd F). The Daily Planet is a local non-profit providing medical respite for individuals who are homeless, offering a safe place to recover from medical needs. They rely on community support to provide meals during this recovery. This is where F3 Richmond steps in — we proudly take the last weekend (Sat/Sun) of each month to provide meals to those in their medical respite.

    How you can help:
    1. Sign up: Choose a night on the Q sheet.
    2. Get Details: A few days before your date, the siteQ will provide all the details, including the number of meals needed for that night. (Usually around 8, but it can be up to 15).

    Meal Prep:
Meals can be as simple or elaborate as you like. Some PAX have picked up chicken and sides from Publix, while others have involved their M and 2.0’s to prepare home-cooked meals like baked spaghetti with garlic bread and dessert. The most important thing is providing a hot meal to someone who might not otherwise have one (read that again). You can choose to stay and “break bread” with the Respite guests or simply drop the meal off with one of the staff at Breaking Bread.

Let’s get June 29th covered. And while you’re at it, let’s complete 2024 with the following open spots: Sept 28, Sept 29. Oct 27. Nov 23, Nov 24. Dec 28, Dec 29.

    In 2024:
We have 161 PAX who have posted 5+ days in 2024
Breaking Bread: 24 Spots open each year. (161 PAX for 24 BB??)

  • GTE #47 – River City

    GTE #47 – River City

Get ready for the River, Richmond’s rich history and diverse terrain provides the perfect backdrop for this GTE #47 leadership adventure.  F3 men from Richmond and across the east coast will converge on the River City May 3-5 for an unforgettable bonding experience and personal challenge.  Traversing the city’s streets, parks, and trails, they’ll not only test their physical endurance but also strengthen their resolve as men to live right, lead right, and leave right. The city’s cultural landmarks and scenic views will offer moments of reflection and inspiration along the journey from sunset to sunrise. Ultimately, this overnight ruck event promises to be more than just a physical feat—it’s an opportunity to forge lasting memories and deepen connections in the heart of Virginia’s capital.

F3 Men and 2.0 serving meals for Breaking Bread

As we bid farewell to 2023, let’s takes immense pride in reflecting on the remarkable journey we’ve had in providing meals for Breaking Break. This year has been a testament to the strength of our brotherhood, with 24 weekends dedicated to serving 194 meals to individuals in need.

Our commitment to service was exemplified by the 26 F3 men who selflessly devoted their time to ensure that Breaking Break received not just meals, but a warm and compassionate touch. What’s truly inspiring is that several F3 men went above and beyond, serving on more than one weekend throughout the year.Special recognition goes to Gumbo, Fireman Ed, Rosie, EF Hutton, and Heist, who consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication by volunteering on multiple occasions. Their leadership and tireless efforts have been a driving force behind the success, turning weekends into opportunities for connection, kindness, and shared moments.

Among the countless meals prepared, one that stood out as a favorite among Breaking Break is the heartwarming lasagna. For desserts, the chocolate chip cookie emerged as the clear favorite, delighting the senses and adding a sweet touch. These moments of joy and indulgence underscored our belief that a well-prepared meal goes beyond sustenance; it’s a gesture of love and solidarity.

As we look ahead to 2024, let us carry the spirit of generosity, camaraderie, and community service that defined our efforts in 2023. F3 remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve, fostering connections that go beyond the dinner table. Together, we will continue to embody the core values of Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith. Thank you to the PAX for your dedication, compassion, and the shared belief that through service, we can make a difference in the lives of others. Here’s to a new year filled with even more opportunities to serve and uplift those in need.

    Let’s do more!
