YHC arrived at 05:15 to see Swirly pacing in the parking lot. No Big Blue. Swirl Y ran over from DP. Spit’s car was already there. Spit banged out 9 plus miles today, including 4 before Breakfast Club. Sounds like Early Risers training to me. On the way back, YHC had to wait the whole time for the Six. 11 strong hit the streets of Carytown for the latest edition of Breakfast Club. ET’s to Boulevard to a lap around Burpee Lake to Dogpile parking lot. Usual route on the way back for breakfast. We caught beautiful sunrise over the lake and then a rainbow positioned beside the Carillon on the way in. Vinny and Double Mint met up with us after the Early Riser’s run hoping to complete a quad dip this morning. Well done! Eight early-risers (well, not THAT early) departed ET’s for a couple warm-up miles on this most beautiful of mornings…#9 (Handshake) came in LIFO and caught up to the PAX. Spit had to cut out early to hit the links, so he parked at Dogpile and did Breakfast Club in reverse. Way to get it in. Kubota got a Wilson-esque headstart leaving Dogpile, but the PAX reeled him in. Great runs both ways. No More Gumbo For you…until Hoedown.
Ten men hit the early morning roads for today’s version of The Breakfast Club. According to the person stealing a bag of organic mulch from ET’s, this is what went down: Thomson to Cary to Robinson to the VITA Trail to Dogpile. Return trip was Blanton to Sheppard to Cary to Thomson. Wilson continued his tradition of taking point. Like a true Recon element, Wilson stood post well in advance of the Main Force. 5 warriors got out their fartsacks to get in their early miles. Kubota was even early with running to ET’s before hand. 2 miles to Dogpile and 1 1/2 miles back for a total of 7 miles to include Dogpile We enjoyed the cooler weather and the cold rain. Mumble chatter was great talking about leaving the legacy our grandparents and parent left for us SPIT ON THAT!!
12 studs evaded the Fartsack for a early morning jaunt from ET’s to Dogpile and back. Pretty uneventful run but full of good conversation. YHC enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Don Draper better. Kudos to Kubota, Spit, and Swirly for having to early morning commitments but modifying and meeting at Dogpile to run from Dogpile to ET’s and back with the Breakfest Club group. Congratulations to Swirly for his daughters’ graduation. Poor guy had to skip Dogpile to wear a wool suit and sit in a field for 4 hours. YHC knows Swirly is proud of his daughter…
10 RVA Runners got in there miles before and after Dogpile. YHC changes things up a bit by giving the PAX a pervious of what was come that day. We traveled our normal route down carytown to the boulevard. When we arrived at boat lake dr we turned onto westover dr and kept going till we reach Maymont and shirley lane The mumble chatter on the way back center around what make a doughnut a doughnut. 13 strong hit the streets for the Pre-Field Day Breakfast Club run. Several flags flying including the VMI flag (Ra VA Mil!) 2 miles there/1.5 miles back. Some thought Swirly’s truck had been stolen and an imposter was driving it. Highlights of the run were the gentleman on the sidewalk yelling “Only 15 more miles to go!” and the family eating breakfast at Can Can watching us from the front window run back to ET’s looking like we had just played in wet, red clay.
