Godwin

No light numbers at Circus Maximus today. Sixteen noble KB warriors celebrate this great country in the muggy and humid gloom of Godwin HS. Here is how it went down: COPSSHIWDQHelicoptersArm circlesDMHMerkinsLBCAMRAP – 30 seconds on followed by 20 break for 1st round, followed by 15, 10 & 5 seconds in subsequent roundsHigh pullsCurlsKB swingsKB squatsTricep pressRun the bus loopAMRAP – Round 2, same format, new exercisesSit ‘n pressSkull crushersOverhead pullsKB hammersPresses COT with YHC taking us out Great work from the PAX today, with ample opportunities for mumble-chatter and stupidity. At one point an unnamed PAX member asked “why…

12 dudes, mostly regulars with a couple newbies and a celebrity guest who usually does not go this far west came to lift some weights. It felt weird not seeing Attila but we had a Handshake appearance so I call that even. COP: DQs, helicopters, ACs, diamond merkins, plank jacks and LBCs. Mosey to bus loop. 11s with presses, halos with a rifle carry in between. They say if you can’t do it don’t Q it. Well that is what I did. I started faltering on rifle carries after a few sets of these. Good shoulder workout nonetheless. Gypsy gets…

I didn’t remember that I had the Q today until about 1 minute before I got there. No problem, except I didn’t bring any music. The following is more or less correct. Disclaimer Warmup 20 SSHs 20 IWs 10 Don Quixote Stretch: plank position, right hand, right foot, then Pfannkuchen. Circle up near the covered walkway for Shut-ups. (All exercises are OYO.) 20 Swings 20 Hammer Curls 20 Upright Rows 20 Triceps 20 Flutter kix 20 Ukrainian Hammers 20 Press 20 Swats Except for the Flutter kix, this spells ‘SHUT-UPS’. I pay no royalties to the creator of this routine…

On a beautiful Thursday morning, 16 warriors came for the best coffee in Richmond and also got a workout. We circled up at the regular starting point and met a FNG Mark. He was invited by the missing Gomer Pyle. Despite the raucous crowd, we did some warmups of SSH, Copperhead Squats and DQs. Then we rifle carried to Fudd after he showed up and circled up again for some more warmups of Ukrainian Soldiers, Arm Circles & Cherry Pickers. We rifled carried further to back of the school and circled up one more time for LBCs and Merkins. We…

10 sultans of the KB converged upon the Circus on a glorious Thursday morning. Here is how it went down: COPSSHIWDQHelicoptersArm circlesDMH LBC KB deck of death – each suit is an exercise and jokers are burpees, each card is 12 reps156 sit ‘n press156 curls156 upright rows156 overhead pulls 24 burpees Round of MaryOne legged crunches, each leg Straight legged crunches COT with YHC taking us out Great work by the PAX today.  This workout is an arm burner that has a strong cardio element as we much pace ourselves to complete the deck.  It also starts with a…

12 studs of varying ages – well varying from age 45 to a lot more than 45 descended on the back end of Mills Godwin’s high school to lift weights so we can look like Nitro from Convergence. At the end of our workout we found out that Pigskin made his 1000th post in RVA today. Not too shabby. COP: DQs, helicopters, merkins, MCs, Plank jacks, Fudd’s wife (as a greeting to Fudd when he showed up late – White Deer was a little too excited for this exercise), FMs and LBCs. Mosey to bus loop. Doras with 50 2…

12 inspiring men of the gloom brought their KB’s to Circus Maximus to see what Fudd had in store. COP SSH’s, helicopters, stretches, merkins, Ukranian Soldiers, arm circles, Copperhead Squats, and some other stuff Mosey South down the alley behind the school with KB at rifle carry, circle up midway for a few exercises, continue south and start doing lunges while passing the KB between your legs with each lunge (Fireman Ed named this “Magics”. Stop and do 5 burpees and keep going. Arrive at the basketball courts and line up on the baseline for KB suicides. Do 5 reps…

14 KB warriors and a late arriving, donut bearing 3rd F’er (t-claps to Pinto) joined up for the final leg of the respect tour.  YHC’s home AO was the sight of today’s beat-down, and here is how it went down: COPSSHIWDQHelicoptersArm circlesDMHMerkinsLBC APD Underweight for the full time, work our way around the school, stopping to do exercises at increments of 5, 10, 15, & 20 reps, for the following totals:50 lawnmower pulls, each arm50 upright rows50 curls50 tricep presses50 sit ‘n presses50 weighted FK50 overhead pulls50 presses50 sumo squats50 lunges, right leg30 lunges, left leg 15 KB swings COT…

PSA: I was reviewing Big Data and I noticed the following: When you do a backblast and include the PAX, use the “,” after each name (instead of periods, spaces, amperstands, etc.) I see a lot of obvious errors. You should check your spelling of the name. For example, Gomer Pyle was spelled once as “Gommer Pyle”. You might want to look at a recent Big Data attendance report for obvious errors that you might have been responsible for and then correct your BB. Final suggestion: claim your aliases. Please understand that I have no problems with Bluegrass music. But…

As I arrived at the Circus and saw Upchuck, EF Hutton and Lockjaw I thought to myself “Did First Watch go west?” The after a horde of regulars and a visitor from SOJ (State Farm) I thought “Oh sh^t I need to remember all of these names”. After a short COP (DQs, helicopters, merkins and Freddies) and dodging of a few incoming cars (including a couple of teenagers who thought the parking lot speed limit was 40 and finally slowed down after 10 seconds of our yelling) we started our workout. E1: Mosey to the track area. Lindseys with high…
