  • Celebrating Freedom

The fart sack was averted by 3 noble warriors after a spectacular day of celebrating our country’s birthday and the abundance of freedoms we have.  Here is how it went down:

      • 20 IW
      • 15 DQ
      • 10 2x merkins
      • 25 2x LBC
      • 10 pickle pounders
      • 15 Scorpion kicks

      • High pulls (6x)

    • COT with YHC taking us out

Johnsonville had texted YHC late last night to say he would take the Circus Q after a day of celebrating his right to bear arms and burn emasculating children’s books (it is how they roll at Kepley, Broscious & Biggs).  However, unlike our forefathers, he could not free himself from the clutches of the fart sack, even when his chauffeur arrived shortly after 0500.  Thankfully, YHC had planned ahead and was ready get administer a red pill.  Actually, the humidity pretty much took care of that.  Glad to see you are here to stay summer!

Welcome to Circus Maximus Water Wings!  This noble warrior book-ended his KB workout with 2½ mile runs to his in-law’s domicile.  With five kids under 10 years old, we all offer proper respect to your ability to bring it on a regular basis.  It was fun getting to know you, and I was comforted by the fact that you were more than skilled in changing diapers, especially if one of White Deer’s flatulence turns liquid or solid.

For those wondering, we have a guest Q from Star Child (F3 Louisville) on Saturday.  Feel free to come see how our neighbors to the west do F3, if interested.

All in all, strong work from the PAX   God is good all the time!

It has been 6 months since YHC’s last trip to the Circus. So when Opus asked if he wanted to go, he said “sure”. it was good to be back with this crew.

Apparently YHC cannot count, he blames this on his Mechanicsville public education, and the beast went for 7 rounds instead of 6. Which everyone was very happy to point out.

Everyone put in good work and it was great to see Wedding Singer come out for The Summer Tour.

    Thanks for letting me lead

    • COT with YHC taking us out

Once again, J’ville saved me from doing KBs solo, and vice versa.  Good chance to hang out with one of F3’s finest while we threw around the KBs.  Grateful for his loyalty to the PAX.

God is good all the time!

  • Narcoleptic Q

A group of noble warriors joined forces to throw around the kettlebells this morning, and here is what transpired:

    • COP
      • 25 SSH
      • 25 IW
      • 15 DQ
      • 10 2x merkins
      • 25 2x LBC
      • 15 Pickle Pounders
      • 15 Scorpion Kicks
      • 10 burpees
      • 20 Helicopters
    • AMRAP challenge – rotation of 5 exercises over a 30-35 second period, with reduced rest after each rotation; rests start at 20 seconds and move down to 15, 10 and 5 seconds
      • High pulls
      • Weighted squats
      • Halos
      • Overhead presses
      • KB swings
    • Run the bus loop
    • AMRAP challenge/version 2 – rotation of 3 exercises over a 30-35 second period, with reduced rest after each rotation, rests of 20, 15 and 10 seconds
      • Overhead pulls
      • Sit ‘n presses
      • Skull crushers
    • Run the bus loop
    • 20 lawnmower pulls – each arm x2
    • COT with YHC taking us out

This was a workout that the PAX just had to gut through.  YHC was tired, and there was concern that I would sleepwalk through the workout.  Offshore can now cross Circus Maximus off his summer tour of AOs, and good to have Tubbs back.  It is evident that Tubbs is growing more comfortable with the group as he and White Deer engaged in a symphony of the sphincters.  Solid work though.

God is good all the time!

  • Shakedown joins the circus

4 Circus Maximus veterans and 1 Kettlebell F3 Virgin came out as White Deer took the Q. We did:

COP – SSH, Merkins, Flutterkicks, and Burpees. Boat & Canoe right off. Then off for:

Modified Beast:  Reps of 5, 10, 15, 20, 15, 10, 5. Exercises were: Swings, Sit &Press, Merkins, Lawnmower, Halos, and Overhead presses.

Finish wth skull crushers and Pullovers.

    1. NMS- Good to have Shakedown out and sporting a 35 lb bell no less. White Deer took the Q and wrote the BB. But unfortunately he saved them on floppy disk and gave to me to post so forgive the delay, #bigdata
  • FNG Tubbs Visits Circus

Three of the faithful and one FNG posted at CircusMaximus with kettlebells in hand. Johnsonville (YHC) took the Q, and this is what went down, more or less —

warmup with 25x ssh, 25x imperial walkers, 25x don quiotes, 25x flutter kicks, plank sequence, long-time arm circles

mosey to sidewalk by bus loop for ciabatta lawnmower pulls, alternating arms.

mosey about 1/2 way down bus loop toward pump rd for ciabatta kb swings.

mosey to end of bus loop. run a brisk lap.

ciabatta merkins (feel the burn!) Chum would have been stronger on round 8 than round 1 (that is, had he bothered to get out of bed).

mosey around the school to the side facing pump rd. ciabatta WWII situps with KB presses at top.

    10 burpees

KB carry back to VSF. Mary with Alabama prom dates, box cutters, and ‘merican hammers.

COT with Attila taking us out.

FNG Al Lombardy, introduced himself and presented himself for naming. But without the keen wit of DK, we were unable to come up with a fitting name on the spot, YHC having summarily rejected “Big Al”, “Weird Al”, and “Hemmeroid.” Upon reflection and in a state of 80s nostalgia, YHC takes note that a particularly heinous crime boss on Miami Vice was named “Al Lombard.” YHC thus names FNG Al Lombardy, “Tubbs.”

    Good job men! Jville

  • F3 RVA Summer Tour – Starts Saturday, May 26

F3 RVA Summer Tour – Starts Saturday, May 26

    https://youtu.be/Xf3mRZ7SHu0

According to Phineas and Ferb, there are 104 days of summer.  What a better way to spend the summer than challenging yourself to visit all 24 F3 RVA AOs.  Although procrastinators can wait as late as August 6 to start, it would be best to spread this challenge out over the entire summer.  Once you complete the tour, you will have done the following:

    • 14 bootcamps
    • 7 runs including a trail run and evening run
    • 2 Kettle Bell workouts
    • 1 bike ride

Don’t let not having a kettle bell or bike prevent you from participating in this challenge.  Borrow them if necessary.

The challenge starts starts on Saturday, May 26 and ends on Labor Day.

    See you all this summer!

  • Fighting off the Fartsack

It was a wet day where everyone was tired.   A trio of noble warriors still answered the call, and here is what transpired:

    • COP
      • 25 SSH
      • 25 IW
      • 15 DQ
      • 20 Flutter Kicks
      • 20 FM
      • 10 2x merkins
      • 15 Scorpion Kicks
      • 20 LBC
      • 15 Pickle Pounders
      • 20 Helicopters
    • Mosey to bus loop for a modified game of catch me if you can
      • 3 stopping points along the bus loop where you do 10 burpees
      • Double-weighted carry between burpees
      • 2 total loops/60 burpees
    • KB beast down/back bus loop (weighted carries between stops)
      • Sit ‘n presses
      • High pulls
      • Overhead shoulder presses
      • Swings
      • Halos
      • Lawnmower pulls (each arm)
    • Run the bus loop
    • Mosey to the parking lot for COT with YHC taking us out

This was a workout that the PAX just had to gut through.  YHC was tired, and we were under weight for the entire workout.  The mid-week malaise as well as the burpees led to a workout sprinkled with some cursing directed at the Q.  Solid work though.

Usual announcements…see other BB for details.

  • There are fields at Circus

Four regulars brought out their Kettlebells to enjoy the perfect weather at Circus Maximus. Here is what went down:

COP – SSH, Don Qs, Merkins, Imperial Walkers, Helicopters, Flutterkicks. Mosey to back of school.  People’s Chair with bell. 20 Swings then lunge across. 20 Sit &Press. 20 High Pulls, Backwards lunge, 20 Calf raises. 20 Donkey Kicks and 20 Lawnmower. Several more rounds of People’s Chair thrown in.

Mosey to back field. Bear Bell Crawl 10 times, 10 Sit &Press, run end of field and back to KB until across the field. Then Weighted Crab Walk back. 3 minutes of Boat-Canoe. 25 Overhead press.

Carry back to back of school. 15 Lawnmower each arm, Peoples chair. Back to flag for some arm work: Swings, Skull Crushers, Halos, Overhead press, high pulls. Finish up with American Hammers.

NMS- YHC wanted to take this Q to the back fields to change things up, as Loose Goose l, Atilla, and YHC talked about it last Friday at lunch.  Alas non Loose Goose to enjoy the change of scenery today. The field was perfect though. The Bear-Bell Crawl across was a hit, the weighted Crab Walk back was not.

White Deer was in stealth all-black mode ala Flashdance this morning. Apparently his emissions were all used up at Cinco De Mayo last Saturday. Jville did his best to make up for it with in-cadence flatulence.

Announcements – Memorial day convergence at Belle Isle again this year. Also Puppy Pile is next Saturday after Dogpile.
