  • Nobody remembers $hit

After a weeklong cruise and a busy week at work YHC struggled to get out of the Fartsack this week. YHC signed up to Q for motivation. EF Hutton even joked that it was a Q by an FNG.

Various exercises were completed to include 22’s on the Field, a failed Sextex Check, and never ending Pull Up rotations.

Good times were had by all, great jokes.

Announcements – The Bridge on April 26th with Corned Beef, May 10th with Hermes. Breaking Bread is covered for April.

Prayer Requests – Vinny/Vinny’s family at the passing of his MIL. Prayers for Kubotas brother’s Family at the sudden passing of his brothers MIL.

NMS – thanks for the opportunity to Q

  • Show me the F**kfax

Eleven eager PAX, including a visitor from SC, found perfect April conditions for a spring Dogpile. Newly placed tariffs on sections of the AO made for a vague theme that was NOT the stupidest idea of the week somehow.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks. Down to bottom of the amphitheater. 10 Burpees tariff for using it. Alternate up incline merkins and dips each step up to top.

Over to front of memorial, 50 Upright APDs tariff. Run up steps: 10 merkins, 20 WWIIs, 30 Jump squats, run back to circle and 10 burpees. 2nd round: 20 CDDs, 30 Reverse Crunch, 40 Squats, and 10 burpees back at the start. Head over to Bermuda Triangle: Bear crawl to 1st spot: 20 Merkins, down to bottom, 30 Flutterkicks, Bernie up hill, 40 LBCs. 2nd round: HRMs, 30 LCs, 40 Penguin cruches.

Head over to Rusty Cage, tariff was 10 Chazz Michael Michaels! Then we did 3 rounds of 6 Pullups & 10 Jerkins. Over to the Jacobs Ladder bowl for the namesake exercise set. Then back to flag for 2 min of Mary. YHC took us out with some quoted scripture.

Announcements: Bridge is starting back up later this month. PAX are needed to step up for this important F3RVA staple. Also May 2nd CSAUP is coming up fast. If you can attend a boot camp you can do this.

NMS: What a way to start the weekend. Solid group of PAX that pushed the whole morning. It was great to give Decible a tour of our crown jewel AO. Just as Milton Friedman, Ronald Reagan, and Thomas Sowell have repeatedly said “Tariffs are a terrible idea” so were the burpees and Chazz Michael Michaels as well. But it was a loose thread for a theme for YHC to grasp.

Coffee lasted a good while and was a blast as always. Lots of great ideas shared and Faceplant was able to find a babysitter to thwart Upchuck stealing his evening plans.

    YHC took us out.

Moleskin: The Ghost Flag returns. YHC felt a very brief moment of guilt after learning that Mr. Rogers arrived early to set up something special with buckets around the field. Meanwhile, BlueMoon woke up early, crossed the river, and stamped his passport, expecting a Mr. Rogers Q. The timing of A vs. B was perfect—might have to bring that back another day. And let’s not forget—today’s 20-counts were on point.

  • VQ Alert……….Say Wwwhhhaaattt?!?

Friday night alert from Slack says VQ Alert! Almost below the belt but message received. Yes, it has been a long while since YHC signed up for the Q but no VQ alert needed. Seasoned Swedish Chef present and accounted for!! With no watch at 0559, YHC said time to mosey but we did circle back to grab Hitch with his “One Headlight” and mosey to Carillon courtyard.

Thank you Rosie, 18 steps. Once at the top, come down with the same number step and perform decline merkins. 18th step, 18 decline merkins…17th step, 17 decline merkins…and so on until PAX was back to the bottom. Mumblechatter was limited!

    YHC took us out!

NMS: YHC does not hide from his affection for Dogpile. My first workout post and many Saturday mornings spent with you fine fellas on this ground!! Yes, I have been slacking with my Q’s as well as posting. Oyster’s comment with VQ was almost a, “What did you say Willis?!?!”moment, but YHC can take the heat. YHC thinks about the many wonderful memories since starting my journey with F3 and friendships that have blessed my life, including Oyster’s.

The Swedish Chef made a quick appearance trying Jazzercise but he quickly exited stage left! EF Hutton and Hardywood…..you missed out but the PAX was lucky in the same regard.

Your friendships mean a tremendous amount to me. Each morning that I post, I rarely have a bad day that follows!!!

God bless each of you and thank you for following my lead this morning. Coffeeteria at Libby=Super 2F!!

Perfect Triple Check numbers despite road closures for todays marathon.

We trekked through various road closures and took advantage of empty streets.

New variations of exercises with excessive counts were completed.

NMS – A lot has happened in 7 years. YHC has seen AO’s grow, YHC seen AO’s shrink, YHC has seen Pax come and go. YHC is appreciative to still be here.

  • Big Dinner? Extra 5LBs; No Problem

Six semi-hard middle aged F3 vets started off March with a few extra pounds this morning.

Each man grabbed one coupon disc, with some reluctance on getting in the back of said Subaru, and started a fast paced mosey to the toll shed parking lot for a somewhat standard COP warm up with disclaimers.

Mosey across James River while stopping to do 3 WW2’s at every light post.

Mosey back across James River while stopping to do 1 burpee at every light post.

Mosey to road that loops around back of park. Partnered up for some speed curls while timer runs.X3.

Mosey a little further for some partnered arm exercises while timer bear crawls across the street. X3

Mosey to road that goes up mountain stopping to do 30, 25, 20 dips.

Mosey up said road while leader loops back for six repeatedly.

Mosey to Amphitheater for some partner Cassius Marcellus Clay punches while timer runs to top of Amphitheater while doing 5 squats at top. X3

Mosey back to the flag with a quick glance and wave at parking lot full of race club girls.

Gomer lead the group in Pledge Allegiance to the flag.

UpChuck asked for us to continue to pray for our great country and for him working on a more even temperament with his friends, family and neighbors.

We flagged down a biker that is fresh out of AA to join us in a prayer.

    YHC took us out.

Thank You for letting me lead. Weather was warm and sunny just like the F3 groups disposition. Mumble chatter, moaning and groaning was at a minimum.

  • 41 years and more Pencil Rolls to come

9 Gathered for YHC’s birthday celebration. YHC had no plan in mind, the Pax was very patient as we did every random exercise under the sun.

Announcements – Century Classic is coming back. Thanks for Last Call and Orange Crush for taking Breaking Bread.

NMS – Thanks for everyone who came out, especially for Heist and Purple Rain who aren’t regular attendees of Dogpile

Prayer Requests – please be mindful of those who work for the Federal Government who are nervous about their jobs. People are scared and not sure what to do. It’s a tough spot to be in and nobody wishes it on anyone.

  • Open Discussion

According to the five deer touring the AO, a strong Pax of five emerged into the gloom working the favorites, pushing each other, and having great open discussion about life. The discussion continued at LM where the coffee was flowing.

    YHC took us out.

  • Frozen Triangle 2025: Pretty much the definition of completely stupid and utterly pointless.

Cold, rain, miles, and misery: the perfect combination for a CSAUP to kick off 2025.

Here is how it all went down:

20 Ruckers and a few straight through runners (Doozy and Big Rig) set worth, with the remaining 16 or so Pax joining Hitch for beatdown #1.

Hitch Beatdown (stretch session). Dude. Thank you. Hitch basically warmed us on under the amphitheater and did helped get us ready for the run.

Interesting side story: During the stretch session, a popping sound, followed by smoke came from Beaver’s head. Well, turns out his battery in the headlamp exploded. Damn dude!

Grabbed the flags, ran to Punisher in freezing rain. Runners arrived around 7 a.m.  Had a few snacks and sips of Gatorade or Water. Ready for whatever NTB had in store.

NTB Beatdown aka the never ending fire bucket brigade: I saw the GrowRuck-style sandbags and started having GTE 47 flashbacks, but it wasn’t too bad. We were basically shoulder to shoulder, with our backs against the wall, in a squat position—handing over three bags repeatedly around the entire perimeter of the school (which took about sixteen minutes). One bag (sand-filled) was heavy as crap and became even heavier as it got waterlogged. The other two bags were not too heavy, and there were many guesses as to their contents (charcoal, Lincoln Logs, COVID spike proteins?).

Looking around at the cold and soaked guys, Rosie and I could tell people needed to keep moving…off to Mary.

Run to Mary was fairly uneventful, runners arrived around 7:45 a.m. Triple claps to the pit crew who had all the refreshments ready to go!

Beaver Beatdown: Triple check on the basketball courts. Runner to the fence and back, other Pax on merkins and sloppy donkey kicks. Next up, a very wet and cold Beast (all abs) on the tennis courts. I think this is where everyone’s hands started to freeze.

Everyone was eager to get moving, so away we went for the final stretch back to Dog Pile.

Runners arrived at Dog Pile around 8:40/8:45 a.m. and very much ready to get out of the cold rain. Everyone back by 8:50 a.m.

    Numbers/Names.

Very cool to have an FNG brought out by Broadway to join the Pax today. Former Army and retired police officer. Murtaugh (Lethal Weapon) was the perfect name. Even at 54, Murtaugh is “not getting too old for this shit.”  Please watch this classic clip from Lethal Weapon 2

Announcements (and sorry for rushing these, I was feeling pretty miserable):

    • April Hike/Ruck with Rodeo Clown to support Make-A-Wish.
    • Beaver invited guys to grab some grub at Taco Bamba
    • And most importantly, Belay joins Team America as a US citizen in the next few weeks!

Ball of man. Wildcat took us out.

Hey – Big Thank you to everyone that showed up today, pushed through the weather and physical challenge of Frozen Triangle. Made me proud to see all the HIMs out there this morning.

And…HUGE thank you to the guys that volunteered to stand in the rain and make sure the participants had refreshments. Bulkhead, Cornbeef, Faceplant, Fudd, and UpChuck.

    Everyone deserves a nap!

Stats below: Looks like runners go over 10 and ruckers just under 9.
