  • Another sunrise!

The YHC couldn’t sleep, so the texts went out early and Beaver answered the call! YHC showed up a bit ahead of time and knocked out 2 miles before Beaver arrived, then we added another 2.5 miles with the rucks. Caught one of the best sunrises we’ve ever seen. Plenty of mumble chatter about the day boys we’re raising and YHC’s health still not sure what’s going on or if it’s all in his head, but we’ll see!

    Don’t waste the day!

  • Beaver High Tails It

It was just the pines and Beaver this morning. YHC covered something like 5.2 mi and gets a max speed of 12.2 mph. YHC took a page from Commando’s book and used this time to talk with God in the overcast gloom. Even though I missed the guys, it was nice to have this alone time.

  • Bark!

Three HIMs hit the gloom this morning and knocked out just over 3 miles. The mumblechatter was strong the whole way. Beaver’s getting back into the groove and heads into his first day back at work since the baby arrived. Dexter’s touring a new school for his little girl. YHC is grinding at work but grateful to be doing it local. Solid morning of miles and fellowship! Also waking up every dog in the neighborhood!

    Don’t waste the day!

  • Running Late

Baby had YHC up for a few hours last night, It’s now 5:19 AM and my snooze is going off. I was running a solid 7 minutes late for the Iron Haul this gloom. Ran out the door, flip flops on with socks and shoes in hand. No chance for my morning deuce! These things had to wait until YHB rolled up into Pine Fork Park. Come to find out, Beaver would be solo this gloom. It was a good workout as YHC ran these little legs covering every piece of the park and neighborhood by doing a double shift of Iron Haul to complete a 15K, it wasn’t comfortable but it was manageable, and would have been greater with some company.

Have a great week men! SYITG

  • New Baby Daddy!

0530 hit and I threw on some music as I started my ruck, fully expecting it to be a solo mission. Then at 0532 I spotted a familiar truck rolling in. Out of nowhere I heard a whistle behind me. I thought “That’s odd… I’m not even wearing my hoochie daddy shorts today.” I had to turn around and investigate. There he was BEAVER emerging from the darkness. We hit the trail and knocked out about 3.5 miles give or take. Most of the ruck was filled with good chatter about his new little girl him trying to balance the whole gang, family life, and everything that life throws at you. During our little adventure we were being stalked by an owl all morning. Thing was massive it was pretty much the same size as us.

    Don’t Waste The Day!

  • Bear Vs Deer

2 Iron Haulers emerged into the moon filled gloom for a ruck where we checked all three F boxes. We shared our challenges of being returning Christian’s and sharing the story of Jesus with others but to be educated in particular responses from challengers. We’ll keep this on our hearts and prayers and if anybody has any tips, we’d love to hear them. I can’t close this out without mentioning our M’s, thank God for the amazing women in our lives!

  • From the Neighborhood to the Tip

3 Gloompatriots emerged for the final Tuesday morning Iron Haul (will now be held Mondays starting next week) for an hour of good chatter and just shy of 3.5 miles traversed! We began by meandering through the Pine Fork neighborhood and back, heading east at the trailhead and through the diamonds. Cut a right towards the pull-up bars and a left around the tip. Once we made it around the whole tip we headed west at the pull-up bars through Copperhead Trail nestled behind the dog park and pickleball courts(we got pickleball!). Once we made it back to the trailhead we carried on in similar fashion to log an extra mile by covering the west side of the trails.

    Don’t waste the day!

  • Faith and Leadership

2 HIM’s rucked their way around The Lumberyard on this dark and wet 70 and sunny morning. Commando is a power punch of wisdom and faith. YHC was tapping into some of his strategies for leadership in the workplace and faith through unsettling times. We are blessed to have such exemplary men right here in New Kent. Looking forward to our next discussion Commando!

  • Run Through The Pines

2 High Impact Hunks emerged from the gloom onto Iron Haul for a run featuring many stops along the way doing 10 reps of various exercises to burn some calories.

Glad to have you out this morning Commando, thanks for doing the run with me.

Moleskin: The Why – it came up in conversation and it’s always great to be reminded of why we work out. There are many reason why, primarily for my family, not far from that is for my country. How do you want to pay your respects and honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation to have the freedoms we have? I once ended every evening wasting my days away by drinking myself to sleep, on Memorial Day of 2024 that changed when I began to make healthier eating habits and exercise, by that 4th of July I stopped drinking and so proud to have stuck with these decisions so far. All this to say, don’t forget your Why. Stay the course and stay strong for your family, your countrymen and your predecessors.
    Much love to you men.
