  • Differing schools of thought in regards to marital bliss

5 PAX met Tuesday for the last meeting of The Old Hundred of 2025. According to the light switch operator of the school. This is more or less how it went down.

Mosey around the parking lot to get the blood flowing. Warmerama featuring merkins, Ukrainian soldiers, Don Quixote, and a new one I’m calling the Ron Jeremy.

here’s the circuit we did 3 times:

    10 per side for each

    Tea ☕️ pots

    Strait line weight drops

    Goblet squats

    Weighted lunges

    Swings

    Curls

Power clean (5 each side for these)

    WW3s

run a Lap around the parking lot.

the lights behind the school came on so we moseyed to the side of the school where the picnic tables are located. 2 rounds of 20 weighted step ups per leg and then 5 Bulgarian split squats per legv. Slowly back to the start for 1 minute of broga. Numbers names announcements prayers for Wildcat and safe travel for Hermie.

  • Kettle bell blueballs

6 guys came out to lift some bells. Some of them were blue.

  • Eleven

No, not the one married to Bon Jovi’s kid. We had eleven at WTH to celebrate the end of 2025. According to the people waiting at the closed Dunkin Donuts and the one guy by himself at the Lauderdale Starbucks, this is what we accomplished:

Nine went for the traditional WTH and two did some kettlebell. The two lifted them up and down a lot. They also had about 5 kettlebells per person. I did not see the kettlebell juggling exercise.

The nine runners went to the upside down and did one of my normal routines backwards. We started with a warm up run to the Roger Roger pad. There we did some DQs, Ukrainian Soldiers, Helicopters, Arm Circles, Flutters and Hammers. We then looked back on 2025 by going to the Nissan dealership first for some white car burpees (5) and red car jump squats (25). We stopped at the flag after 35 burpees and 75 jump squats. For the second half of the lot we did red car 25 jump squats (4 times) and blue car 25 LBCs (3 times).

We then continued on our reverse path and went to the SPES drop off/pick up loop for a triple check. Timer ran the loop, partners did prisoner get ups and Irish hammers. No one got chased by a demogorgon.

We then headed to Wally’s park. The cold and maybe the holidays helped keep the piss and shit smell down–thanks Wally! We went to the water park and circled up for some Copperhead Squats in cadence and then some plank stretching via right hand to right foot and then right hand to the sky, flapjack and then repeat.

A route around the path (construction work is done!) took us to the pavilion for 20 step ups (each leg) and then WW2 in cadence (26 total). From there, we headed back to Hawkins.

I only had 2.3 miles on my watch but you can’t trust GPS in a wormhole. Also cannot trust which Starbucks the group goes to since one is 1.3 miles away and another is 4.2 miles away. You take a guess which one everyone but me went to…

Convergence tomorrow at 7. Also Circus will be open at 5:30 for a double dip or double fart sack.

    Happy New Year!

  • Rock of Ages

A handsome 8-PAX rolled into a balmy 50’s and breezy Huge Bells to follow a sleeveless Q into the gloom rockin out the top songs from 30 years ago. Key Takeaways:  Dealer likes to hold small things to make his hands look bigger. Machinehead’s side hustle is a messenger angel. Blank Space admiringly noted he’s never been to an AO with both hot coffee and music to follow. Snuff can’t be beat at KB rep speed. And here’s the meat of the story:

    The THANG:

    WARMERAMA:

    • Breathless run around the knollercoaster
    • Circle up an put on the music – top hits from 30 years ago (1985)
    • Welcome & Disclaimer
    • Warm-up Reps – a few IC without KB’s, then not IC but with the KB’s – completely randomly made up by YHC on the fly

    LIGHTPOLE ALLEY:

    • Mosey down to the Culdesac stopping at each of 12 lights to complete reps. Alternate every other light doing x5 reps of Side Swings (ea side) and x5 reps of Racked Side Lunge (ea side).

    CULDESAC RING OF FIRE:

    • Circle up for variable KB reps called by each successive PAX around circle
    • Long mosey back to the base of Love Hill

    LOVE HILL C.M.I.Y.C:

    • Partner up, each partner completes each round exercise before moving to next round
    • Round 1 – P1 walks backwards up hill holding KB overhead while P2 completes x10 KB swings then runs to catch up and switch
    • Round 2 – P1 lunges up hill with KB racked in front while P2 completes x10 WWII Sit&Press then runs to catch up and switch
    • Round 3 – P1 bear crawl drags KB up hill while P2 completes x10 Squat Thrusters

    25’s:

    • Stop at each lightpole to complete x25 reps, first to 25 calls it quits for all – basically Snuff finished first every time…

    COT:

    • Counterama # 8
    • Namerama
    • Announcerama (see Below)
    • BOM Prayer

NMS:  Awesome group this morning for a very unseasonably warm workout. YHC was gonna play the top hits from 2025, but was so disgusted by the playlist we went back 30 years instead – ended up reminiscing about an hilarious movie from 2012 “Rock of Ages” – gotta see it. PAX got a decent swolt by the end of lightpole alley, and the other COP’s were a decent challenge as well. Snuff takes home the prize for finishing first on all the 25’s – just grateful we didn’t do 25 KB Burpees! Dealer’s lumberjack hands look massive holding the tiniest Yeti coffee mug you’ve ever seen. Bring your kids to New Years Convergence – maybe we’ll set up a 2.0 fight club after. Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • The 12 Bells of Christmas

Twas the morning before Christmas when all through the parking lot

    MOLESKIN

Great morning for some kettlebells. YHC leading what is becoming a new tradition.

Hope everyone has very Merry Christmas!!

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Court Crackers

Nine men ventured out to engage in the latest subzero edition of Huge Bells. After a rusty intro and warm up we moseyed down to the tennis courts for our first set of exercises.

Pair or triple up and while one pax is completing swings, the other moseyed around the perimeter of all 3 courts. Repeat, switching double hand swings for singles. Complete 8.

Next sets were a rotation between Turkish get ups and amour building complex’s while parter completes walking recovery till partners are done. Repeat until 10 TG and 10 ABCs complete.

4 corners with the KBs, suitcase carry to 1st stop for 10 burpees, second corner for 20 American hammers (single count), 3rd corner for 30 lunges with a twist, finsh up with 40 LBCs.

KB circle of fire, each pax to hit a muscle group not addressed. A new version of man makers was learned from Freezer burn, and court crackers are now a part of the Lexicon. Come out and see what they are all about.

Mosey back to the flag for time. Thanks for the company this morning and thanks for the ☕️, Snuff!

  • We had a Festivus miracle!

Eighteen volunteers for the Human Fund (money for people), met in the back of Godwin for a kettlebell workout. After setting up the the pole that requires no decoration (I find tinsel distracting) we did some warmups.

After that we did the airing of grievances. We went around the circle to do 20 reps of whatever exercise each pax declared they did not appreciate. I got a lot of problems with this exercise and now you’re gonna hear about it! We did some terrible ones including waiter carry squats, teapots, WWIII’s that involved a sit and press and a regular press, some weird double squat thing, kettle bell swings where you stopped and then did it again, pull throughs, and death crawls. It was chaos. 16 exercises with 20 reps, one run around the loop and a waiter carry walk later, the grievances were complete.

So far this new holiday was scratching me right where I itch!

Partner up for some odds and evens. Explaining this was tough last year but I was prepared for the tinsel-like questions this go around. I did a quick tutorial, yelled my displeasure, and then ignored the mumble chatter. Some people learned how to count up to 4 for the first time, some were still confused, but most understood how to do it. Best 2 out of 3: losers ran the parking lot and did 5 burpees, winners did curls. Three rounds.

Now it was time for the feats of strength. We split into two groups based on who was odds and who was evens from the prior exercise. Odds went first: duckwalk on the grass area with hands behind the back. Goal: knock over your opponent or push them out of bounds, you fall down or go out of bounds and you are out. Round one winner: Handshake. Evens were up and Pinto outlasted the rest of the pax. Handshake vs Pinto for the championship and before the rest of the pax could circle them, Handshake was down. Handshake ended up crying. Pinto is this year’s winner! I made a donation to the Human Fund in his name. He even got a certificate as proof!

It was time for a little Mary, numbers and names. Then coffee with some chocolate Babka as our meal.

The last and most important part of Festivus is observing a Festivus miracle and we had one this morning. We never had a moment where Attila’s gas caused the circle to break up! Festivus cured Attila’s stinky anus for one morning. It’s a Festivus miracle!!!

Thanks for letting me lead. I hope you found my belief system fascinating.

  • Circuit Manndate

Three men posted this morning to do some circuit iron tossing.

    COP

Corned Beef brought the clubs and jump ropes so the PAX made some stations and got to work. The stations rotated between upper body, lower body and core exercises. The jump roper was the timer.

Some boat canoes and GRAMS to end the workout.

Numbers, names, Corned Beef took us out.
