    NMS

There was very little mumblechatter this morning, the PAX were very focused on trying to get through this thing YHC dreamed up, kind of like a lucky horseshoe, but kind of not.  Congrats to Opus on finishing first!

Announcements: YHC, Mudface and Chewy have formed a team for the Rugged Maniac challenge on 5/4/19, if you would like to join get in touch with either of us.  The cost goes up soon, so don’t wait!

    Minutes of Gumby

Numberama, Nameorama, BOM (Chewie took us out)

    NMS

It took this tiny-but-mighty group a bit to warm up. Perhaps this was because COP exercises did not lend themselves to wandering or new-style dance moves. We will work on cadence call-and-response.

Nonetheless, heartbeats quickened. YHC designed a workout intended to build in intensity. No Idea’s comment after the Triple-Check that “this isn’t as hard as last time” suggests next time should involve deceleration instead of acceleration. Or, maybe just high-intensity the whole time. Any cardiac risks in the group?

Thanks to Chewie for taking us out. He inspired the BB title. YHC suspects from the groans – which peaked during Windmills – that prayers for fixing our bodies are much appreciated.

It is an honor and privilege to lead this fine group.

    Announcements

Breaking Bread could use a few good men. Lab Rat is leading the charge this month.

    NMS

It was an honor and privilege to lead this morning. The goal was to challenge each of us, especially the PAX, who had no clue what would come next or when it would end. The PAX rose to the challenge, muscling through vertigo and flatulence. The “T” word was only uttered after the workout. A particular shout-out to Rounders who finished the Perfect Pair first – (200 swings and 55 Merkins). Outstanding effort by all. The goal is for us to be at least a little bit better than we were yesterday.

What a great group of guys today.  Mumblechatter came mostly from Emoji (big surprise), but Helix and No Idea also had some stuff to say today as well.  Yardsale was rather quiet today.  YHC was too busy trying to not die to talk.
Thank Emoji for the backblast title.  While doing the corkscrews, he shouted out “These are great for the spleen!”  YHC immediately thought that he knew nothing about the spleen and subsequently found the very informative video in the backblast.  Now YHC wants to be a splenologist upon retiring from teaching.  Watch the video if you can.

    Peace out

  • Embrace the Murph

It’s the first MANNdate of the month, so time for the Murph!  The PAX rolled out of bed and geared up to hoist some iron and a little running.

Run a mile, then do 100 halos, 200 demon crushers, and 300 lawnmowers, run another mile if there is time.

    YHC took us out.

    NMS

There’s a tradition to greet the month at MANNdate with the Murph.  Not everyone seems to recall the tradition, and YHC was happy to serve up the reminder.  There was mumblechatter during the run about fear of stepping in a hole as the route circumnavigated the whole school, and there are a few dips in there.  Congrats to Emoji for finishing the whole Murph–at least he said he “felt like” he did all the KB exercises 🙂    There was a lot of mumblechatter, but as YHC is late in getting this BB written, none of it springs to mind–I’m sure it was high minded and proper, as this is a hallmark of MANNdate…

    Thanks for letting me lead.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • There ARE swings here!

A lucky 7 guys showed up this morning for a kettlebell thing.  Luckily, they brought kettlebells.  Otherwise the workout would not have gone very well.

Tricep press Mosey to COP area.
    5 Burpees OYO
    Arm Circles
    DQ — not Dairy Queen
    WW2 Situps
    KB Situp presses
    Cottonmouth Squats (for Emoji)
    Racked Squats
    Goblet Squats
    Half Kneeling Presses
    5 Burpees OYO

    Triple check —
Bear Crawl to light post and back, KB Thrusters, KB Bob and Weave

Longish farmer KB carry mosey to the swingsets.

3 people halo mosey the track while all else do Swingset planks.  Both hands on swing, lean arms and push swing as far as you can go without falling over and hold position for as long as you can stand it, then relax for a few seconds.  Repeato until the KB walkers get back.

    Ratio exercises.
1 KB Swing followed by 4 upright pulls
    then 2 swings, 8 pulls
    then 3 swings, 12 pulls
    then 4 swings, 16 pulls
then come back down the ladder.

    Follow same course with
1 KB am hammer, 4 sit up presses…

Mosey back to flag for a few boat canoes

    YHC took us out.

    Announcements —
    PP at Dogpile 7 AM
CSAUP run coming up soon — see backblast for details!

    NMS —
No one had stepped up to Q this thing as of a few days ago and YHC hadn’t Q’ed a KB workout in a while so YHC was anxious to try again.
YHC put some feelers out last night to Mudface and Spit asking if there were any swings at Manndate.  Mudface became worried when I asked him.  YHC told him he should be.  Mudface said there were 4, so YHC came a little earlire than usual to see if Mudface was accurate — lo and behold he was.  So the swing planks were in play.
YHC sometimes forgets how much longer a Bear Crawl seems than how long it really is.  That’s okay — the PAX modified as needed and no one was injured.
The Swing planks were a great hit according to YHC.  Everyone else I am not so sure of, but those are a great core workout along with some lats, those oft forgotten about muscles that complain when they get used.
The first ratio exercise was great — the second one flopped — it was way too much — could have lowered the ratio?
A great time was had by all — mumble chatter centered around the difference between being a newlywed and having been married for many years.  Glad to have Pick 2 back after a mini hiatus and glad his marriage is going well so far!
    Righteous Blessings,
    Opus

  • Time to get lucky

A fortunate 5 ventured out to throw around some iron.  Here’s what happened.

    COP, IC

    SSH x 20, Invisible jump ropes x 15, LBC’s x 20, DQ x 20, arm circles, small and big, x 15, Imperial walkers x 15

Mosey to bus loop for Lucky Horseshoe.

Start with 20 KB swings, walk around loop with KB, add 20 snatches, walk, add 20 helicopters, walk, add 20 leg lifts (with KB held straight up), walk, add 20 reach throughs, walk, take away swings, walk, take away snatches, walk, take away helicopters, walk, take away leg lifts, walk, finish with reach throughs.

Mosey to flag, numberama, namerama, YHC took us out.

    NMS

YHC realized late last night that he had the Q, and after looking for inspiration at old BB, also realized something new was needed, so YHC stole an idea from the comment section when Spit had Lucky Horseshoe at MANNdate, instead of running the loop, carry the KB throughout.  Also tried a few new exercises–the helicopter was tough and received well, leg lift (some decided to do presses with the lift) and reach through, which Mudface described as “so basically a Merkin Row without the row.”  Close enough.  None of the PAX came close to finishing, and the workout even elicited a “Holy Smokes” from Helix, which is praise indeed.  Mumblechatter centered around the upcoming storm, and YHC hopes all PAX stay safe.

Thanks again for letting me lead!  The Carpenter, I’m catching up in Q’s, and one ahead in posts for this year!  Just saying…..but it’s you against you, so don’t worry.  🙂

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • The Merkin Row Murph

8 Davillians including one FNG, arrived for this months edition of the Kettlebell Murph

This is how it went down:

    THE MURPH +

1 mile run (well about 3/4 mile) – Loop around the school, through the bus loop, and around the parking lot two times

50 (single count) Merkins Rows (To celebrate YHC’s 50th Q this year)

    10 Rounds of the following:

    • 10 Sit-up + Press
    • 20 Lawnmowers (10 each arm)
    • 30 Goblet Squat

1 mile run to finish (this didn’t happen)

     MOLESKIN

It always seems the reason why the PAX never finishes the Murph is the fact the mumble chatter is non stop. This week was another example of this is.

It all got started with Mudface (prior to the workout) complaining about the rock Rounders gave him during the convergence on Monday. Oh look who just pulled up, Rounders! Rounders denies this fact.

YHC knew he would hear complaining about the Merkin Rows from the PAX and off course Mudface lead the charge with that. On the subject of Mudface he became a very proud Dad today witnessing Chewy doing thing he be waiting on: Good form and making fun of No Idea.

Rounders decided to take it easy and not bring his 50 lbs kettlebell today. Good we didn’t need another bloody nose today

Welcome to Mayhem. He both a pastor and an Allstate agent. He was not originally named Mayhem. Rounders thought he said his name was “J-Wow” during the COT and No Idea mentioned there is a Rock in their commercials so J-Rock became the name.  After thinking it over YHC decided that Mayhem would be better since those commericals are better well known.

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Going on a Man Date and its almost White Deer Rutting Season

Have you ever told the wife at 4:30 a.m. that your waking up to go pick up Johnsonville and go on a Man date?  Well, we  found ten bucks of various sizes just waiting to  get started at Man Date .  The Men from DaVille

Not sure wRUT I was thinking, thought I would  rattle a few anthers with Chewie when approaching the PAX but daddy buck mudface said, go ahead rattle him back. Damn that Chewie’s  packing some serious guns under his F3 shirt. What do you think  a deer gonna do?

We couldn’t find any soft grass to lay our KB’s on so we opted for bus loop. Here’s how it went down

    COP 25 SSH, 10 quick burpees, 20 DQ’s, 20 Helicopters, 25 merkins and 3 rounds of Boat-Canoe.

The object of the next exercise was to keep the KB off the ground for the next 35 minutes. I guess Mudface

wasn’t listening, but he never listens to white deer. Weighted carry to each light pole around the bus loop while  doing 10,15,20 25 reps of the following

    HALOS

    Lawn Mower Rows

    High Pulls

    360’s

    Sit and Presses

    KB Swings

    Overhead Pulls

COT – Numberama, Name -o-rama, Announcements, YHC took us out.

WOW, thought the sewer gas problem was solved with the use of our new FNG P-Trap, Not sure he has a  P- trap  big enough  to solve the Manndate leak.

Not  as much Mumble-chatter as I expected, but then Mudface did keep his distance in the rear this morning and couldn’t keep his KB off the ground.

Boat Canoe always gets a little mumble-chatter flowing.

After the 35 minute ride over with J Ville   to Manndate YHC was already tired from the 4:30 wake up call. Hope I was able to provide enough KB activity to get your blood pumping.

Phonics thanks for the invite out to Manndate and allowing YHC to Q the PAX.  Great job to all the PAX members this morning. Daville has certainly grown a great group of men representing  Richmond F3. Keep up the work, the will and the truth!

    Love you Mudface!

    NMS

The night before YHC send out a message telling everyone that they would not need to bring a Kettle Bell to a Kettle Bell workout. So everyone brought a kettle bell anyway.

YHC wanted to ease the PAX into these exercises as 40 pounds was more than some were used to moving around and to help them get an idea of what would be done. Some decided that this was too easy and started doing burpees on the way to the end of the line. Wanting to give the PAX what they wanted we went right into the Merkin Row line. This started out moving slow until someone dropped some of the 4th F that proceeded to progress down the line, the tempo increased greatly.

The 4th F made its presence know a lot this morning prompting the PAX to wonder food combinations would produce the most pungent aroma. Suggestions that this be the September Challenge were put forth.

Good work was put in by all

    Thanks for letting me lead
