30 minute trail run prior to Rock N Roll

  • The Hunt For Pavement

I was cruising down Courthouse Road at 5:50 am, and passed a couple of dudes running – who could possibly be out at this hour on a major thoroughfare? Of course, it was Big Rig and Boberry. They linked up with us briefly at the park, then continued on their journey.

Woodsman and I rucked through Rockwood for an hour, and checked out potential ice free spots for the workout.

Post-workout surveys suggested that a good time was had by all.
  • Rockwood Takeover

At 6am, Rockwood Park is typically packed with walkers and runners. This morning, Big Rig and I were the only ones dumb enough to venture out. YHC rucked for hour on the main road (forgot my headlamp). Big Rig was slacking and only ran 10 miles. We wrapped things up just as the ‘Rock N Roll crew began to assemble.
  • Choose your path

3 early risers decided to face the cold temps for a ruck/walk/run. The Pax started out together for several mins. with each HIM eventually choosing his own path. Big Rig got in his usual run while Rodeo Clown and YHC rucked/walked together for ~ 3 miles.

  • Ruck or Run

Pool Boy Rucked, and YHC Ran.

  • We Did 10

At 6am YHC and a newly enhanced House Party hit the streets. We rucked through all the usual Rockwood Park hot spots – even passing Boberry and Big Rig on the paved nature trail. Apparently they arrived early and got in a 9 mile run – impressive! Our total mileage was not revealed.
  • Brain Power

It was an exciting edition of Morning Wood……..Ideal rucking temps and the triumphant return of Rodeo Clown! We hit the streets at 6am and finished the paved nature trail plus a couple laps around the park. The PAX made it back just in time for Purple Rain’s diabolical beatdown. Strong work fellas!
  • New Launch Point

No Latino Market this week, so we are back to the old Rock N Roll/Morning Wood start area. I figured this out after driving past House Party and circling around the park. As per the workout, we completed a near one hour ruck in the usual paved trail area. YHC may have rucked home had I gotten the memo on Mudslide’s spartan training. There were rumors of Big Rig and Boberry running, but we never crossed paths.

  • the beginning of change…

Where two or more are gathered…great things can happen. Big Rig joined YHC for a few loops around Rockwood and inspecting the new baseball turf fields while discussing deep matters of life change. The beginning of change is recognizing something needs improving. We all have blind spots and sometimes the things we most need to change we can’t see ourselves without the insights of a loving brother. YHC is thankful for Big Rig and so many others who have shown up, led by example, and earned a seat at the accountability table. We are stronger together brothers. Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • 30’s!

House and I strapped on the rucks and hit the streets at 6am with a chill in the air. We completed the paved nature trail, plus a couple laps around the park. Its always amazing to see how many people are at Rockwood before the sun comes up. House Party is nursing a shoulder injury from bench pressing. Apparently, his max is slightly higher than mine.

Overall, a solid ruck and a good time was had by all.
  • Lord of the Trails

Rucks and headlamps on, and we hit the streets of Rockwood at 6 am sharp. House and I had some great conversation about bad movies and Hopewell High School football.

Towards the end of the ruck, a runner approached us and said there was someone looking for the F3 workout. We spotted “Mark” and were able to guide him back to our usual starting point.

Overall, a solid workout before Purple Pain made his debut.
