Ruck Bros
Ideal ruck weather this morning. At 6am House and I hit the streets of Rockwood Park. We completed the paved nature trail, 2 laps around the park, and the big parking lot. Many of Americas problems were solved. We might have went home had we known what Purple Rain had in store.
A good time was had by all. -
For Those About to Ruck (or Run)
Excellent cool weather for the latest edition of Morning Wood. House Party and I hit the streets with our ruck sacks at 6am and got in some miles. Big Rig was already running upon arrival and ventured down to the Genito Road Corridor. He joined us for the last 15 minutes or so. Post-workout survey suggested that a good time was had by all.

Small Circle, Deep Thoughts
Enjoyed rucking a few miles around Rockwood with HP sharing all sorts of real life stories. Big Rig ran for the first half then joined the conversation. Finished up in time to COT and stretch before the musical beatdown. Always a pleasure gents! ~DTH

Joining Forces
YHC and Big Rig opted in for some Morning Wood. Big Rig ran while YHC rucked. 6:30 hit and we decided to walk together until time for the Mudslide beatdown.

Chat Loops
Three rucker compadres took to the Rockwood Green Loop, joined later by Big Rig who’d been up early running with Boberry. The uses of AI/Chat was an interesting topic of discussion, and we all appreciated the massive cock at the Latino Market (large rooster statue) as we completed four loops total. Weather is currently perfect. Get out there and enjoy it fellas! Yours AYE, DTH

R&R, the new normal
Mid-60’s and breezy for another extremely peaceful Morning Wood – ample time to think, pray, and reflect on a missions project we’re partnering with in Papua New Guinea. After 30min rucking, returned to the Taco for some water and Woodsman arrived to drop a load of coupons on the grass hill. YHC convinced him to join a run of the green loop circuit, and he gamely participated in 2 loops while YHC (feeling no IT band pain) went for a third loop, total of 2.14mi with an improved VO2 Max of 54, up from last weeks 2-loop run. Overall excellent Morning Wood warmup for the Woodsman Beatdown to follow. Plenty of room for growth in this running game – maybe will shoot for 4 loops next week and just keep going up to see if we can outgrow this IT Band problem. Yours AYE! ~DTH

My Green Mile Base
Only way to be the heat and humidity is getting out there early! Solo Q at Morning Wood for YHC started with rucking the perimeter loop walking track which is now painted brightly green. There’s been a lot going on of late, and the quiet time rucking with Jesus created space for some good mental mumble chatter. Ended up thinking about how I hadn’t run in a while and the green loop track could be a nice distance to set a Base time with my Garmin. Rucked back to the truck and ditched the bag. Garmin set to go. Two laps completed for 1.43mi total, with a mile time of about 7:40 and VO2 Max at 53. Not bad, but despite great efforts to monitor my stride and keep the Right foot pushing properly off my right Great toe, my IT Band pain still started up pretty quick, about a mile into it. Well, at least now I have a base to compare to in future. ~DTH

Two’s company, Three’s just right!
3 rucking maniacs decided to rise with the sun and trek around Rockwood Park. The humidity was no match as we started on the paved trails and ventured down toward the pond and along the flowing creek. Conversation was great as always as we managed ~ 3 miles.

Representing
It was an all WEAG ruck at Morning Wood! We completed the paved trail, went up and back by the dog park, and looped around near the flag. It was a great trek and excellent conversation………….until we saw Mudslide putting up signs in the parking lot.
Great to see House and Meatball out there battling through injuries. Keep it up fellas.

The Sunrise Show
You can tout your fireworks or drone displays all you like, but nothing beats a glorious sunrise on a fine summer day. Five HIM’s got in a few miles under ruck-weight, and concluded with a ceremonial uncovering of the cabers and GTE logs. Conversation was excellent as usual and all five PAX stuck around for the main event – see next post… Yours AYE! ~DTH
