2 hearty HIMs brought the party for our morning ruck. Just shy of 3 miles. Good to see House Party back in action.

Things are ‘F’ up
I thought I would be solo on a run this morning getting a little training in prior to running Monument Ave in 3 weeks. Chaplain came out so we decided a warm up run to catch up a little was on the menu. He was telling things about happenings within the government you have to shake your head and go WTF. It’s insanity my teenager has more sense than those in charge right now. Finished up 2.2 miles in 20 minutes a good start to the morning.
Stay tuned I had the Q at Rock and Roll so look out for the highlights(I said I had something evil and demonic I did not lie)

Do Deer Eat Bananas?
2 SOJ runners met up at Rockwood Park to get some miles in. Boberry got in 6 or 7 then had to get back to go to work. YHC did a long tour of the surrounding neighborhoods, while fine tuning hydration and refueling strategies for his upcoming marathon. Somewhere early on 2 bananas fell from his pack.
Steamer was spotted running around trying to find Tin Man and Pierogi for RocknRoll. Word has it there was a hot potato.

Fully Erect
Four hardwoods came to Rockwood fully erect. RC was a true brother and helped NTB keep his upright. Dawn breaking over the lake was glorious. Miles were accomplished without anyone blowing their load. RC hooked us up with farewell bourbon shots at COT. Deeply grateful for these HIM’s standing in the gap. AYE! ~DTH

To Parts Unknown
5 Ruckers and a runner enjoyed the chilly temperatures and some Morning Wood action.
The ruckers took an unconventional route that took us past the tennis courts, across Hull Street, and through various shopping centers.
We cut through the sketchy hotel parking lot and jumped over a creek. YHC managed to plunge my leg into 2 feet of water in the process. We blazed a trail through a couple wooded areas and went through 2 church parking lots. Also enjoyed some Teeter Totter time.
The home stretch took us back into Rockwood Park (via cutting through woods) and eventually onto the familiar paved/unpaved trails. Past the nature center and back to the flag with 2 minutes to spare.
Big Rig emerged from the gloom as we were finishing. He had already logged 10 plus miles. I then saw him running on Courthouse Road as I was heading home from RnR. What a stud.
Thanks to all who came out! -
Where is everyone?
YHC got an early start just after 440 this morning, but was hoping to get started before 430. Getting into some long runs for the marathon training plan, with 16 scheduled. And hit every hill I could out there. Came back at the 8 mile mark to find Orange Crush, who was hoping to get a ruck in, but he opted to go get breakfast. We were surprised no one else came out on the warmest morning we could remember in months. YHC headed back for the hills.

Off Campus Trailblazing Ran Overtime
YHC and a troop of seven hardened ruck veterans escaped the confines of Rockwood Park and took to the mean streets of neighborhoods East of Hull Street, looping a new route North, crossing Hull into an elderly commune, and eventually making it back to Rockwood, 7 minutes late for the Bootcamp YHC was supposed to be leading, having covered about 4.2 miles. Meanwhile Big Rig ran thousands of miles somewhere. Big thanks to Mudslide for covering the Warmerama until I arrived. TClaps to the ruckers going overtime and keeping a speedy pace to cover mew ground. Yours AYE! ~DTH

Back up to 50, sometimes 110
A handsome six pack of ruck brothers assembled in the frigid gloom to tackle at least a few miles under extra weight. YHC had challenged the PAX to pack an extra 10 pounds today, which brought YHC up to 50 pounds – feelin’ like Growruck all over again! Then we also shared Sandy (60# sandbag) for the duration of the ruck. The GTE vets all agreed anything is possible (and better) than when we bear crawled downhill with 50+ pound packs on board. Appreciated the warm conversation on a cold morning – and TSG learned something new! (See picture) Yours AYE! ~DTH

The Pre-Run Part Deaux: The Trail
Having wrapped up 6ish miles, YHC and Big Rig ventured out to tour the trails of Rockwood Park. Route was to stay to the right and run along the water, following the trail. Unfortunately this proved to be difficult while it was still pitch black outside. We did well, making good time until YHC ran out of gas. YHC needs to a better job listening to the body, pushed a little too hard, getting after it three days in a row.

Gorilla Escapades
Nine holiday-spirited ruck lovers followed a new route out of Rockwood, across Hull St, and around the quiet neighborhood streets of Mayfair Estates, covering a total of 3.08 miles. Weather reported 30 degrees, but it was 70 and sunny in these gloom lovers hearts. The Mumble Chatter was rich (ask Hardywood to share about his gorilla escapades), nearly everyone had a turn shouldering Sandy (the 60 pound sandbag), and no man was left behind. Oh, and Mudslide and Big Rig did some brotastic laps around the area.
Prayers for Doublemint’s mom facing terminal cancer, and peace and wisdom for Dmint and his family in the process. God shines most brightly through us when we bear witness to His Love while walking through a dark season. Keep the birth of Christ and the reason for His coming at the center – God loves YOU! Yours AYE! ~DTH
