  • Punisher Pop-Up

For those that don’t know, Punisher was once the one and only Monday morning workout.  It shifted to evenings and eventually faded.  But the faithful will never forget.  An occasional pop-up Punisher keeps the memory alive.

    Here’s what transpired:

Mosey to the Holton bus loop.

    COP (mostly OYO)

    • Dead Man Hang
    • Good Mornings
    • Copperhead Squats
    • Hairy Rockettes
    • Helicopters
    • Mountain Climbers
    • Plank Jacks
    • Flutter Kicks
    • Imperial Walkers

Mosey over to Avondale for Bingo

    • SUVs/Crossovers/Vans – 5 Squats
    • Cars – 5 Merkins
    • Pickups – 10 2ct Flutter Kicks
    • Subaru Outbacks – 2 Burpees

    Repeato Bingo back down Greycourt

    Mosey back to Holton playground

    • Triple Check – Swing Jerkins, Pullups, Run the Blacktop

    Mosey around back of school

    • 30 Second People’s Chair
    • 20 Donkey Kicks

    Mosey back to VSF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT at Dots

    MOLESKIN

The Punisher isn’t always punishing, but always a good time.  Chum’s neighbors need a few more Christmas lights.  If you see a dog on the loose in the Northside, well I didn’t get the name or number, but someone wants him back.  Solid 2nd F at Dots Back Inn.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    Rosie’s 12 Days of Christmas at NoToll – 12/23

    The Bridge – 12/27

  • Frozen Triangle 2025: Pretty much the definition of completely stupid and utterly pointless.

Cold, rain, miles, and misery: the perfect combination for a CSAUP to kick off 2025.

Here is how it all went down:

20 Ruckers and a few straight through runners (Doozy and Big Rig) set worth, with the remaining 16 or so Pax joining Hitch for beatdown #1.

Hitch Beatdown (stretch session). Dude. Thank you. Hitch basically warmed us on under the amphitheater and did helped get us ready for the run.

Interesting side story: During the stretch session, a popping sound, followed by smoke came from Beaver’s head. Well, turns out his battery in the headlamp exploded. Damn dude!

Grabbed the flags, ran to Punisher in freezing rain. Runners arrived around 7 a.m.  Had a few snacks and sips of Gatorade or Water. Ready for whatever NTB had in store.

NTB Beatdown aka the never ending fire bucket brigade: I saw the GrowRuck-style sandbags and started having GTE 47 flashbacks, but it wasn’t too bad. We were basically shoulder to shoulder, with our backs against the wall, in a squat position—handing over three bags repeatedly around the entire perimeter of the school (which took about sixteen minutes). One bag (sand-filled) was heavy as crap and became even heavier as it got waterlogged. The other two bags were not too heavy, and there were many guesses as to their contents (charcoal, Lincoln Logs, COVID spike proteins?).

Looking around at the cold and soaked guys, Rosie and I could tell people needed to keep moving…off to Mary.

Run to Mary was fairly uneventful, runners arrived around 7:45 a.m. Triple claps to the pit crew who had all the refreshments ready to go!

Beaver Beatdown: Triple check on the basketball courts. Runner to the fence and back, other Pax on merkins and sloppy donkey kicks. Next up, a very wet and cold Beast (all abs) on the tennis courts. I think this is where everyone’s hands started to freeze.

Everyone was eager to get moving, so away we went for the final stretch back to Dog Pile.

Runners arrived at Dog Pile around 8:40/8:45 a.m. and very much ready to get out of the cold rain. Everyone back by 8:50 a.m.

    Numbers/Names.

Very cool to have an FNG brought out by Broadway to join the Pax today. Former Army and retired police officer. Murtaugh (Lethal Weapon) was the perfect name. Even at 54, Murtaugh is “not getting too old for this shit.”  Please watch this classic clip from Lethal Weapon 2

Announcements (and sorry for rushing these, I was feeling pretty miserable):

    • April Hike/Ruck with Rodeo Clown to support Make-A-Wish.
    • Beaver invited guys to grab some grub at Taco Bamba
    • And most importantly, Belay joins Team America as a US citizen in the next few weeks!

Ball of man. Wildcat took us out.

Hey – Big Thank you to everyone that showed up today, pushed through the weather and physical challenge of Frozen Triangle. Made me proud to see all the HIMs out there this morning.

And…HUGE thank you to the guys that volunteered to stand in the rain and make sure the participants had refreshments. Bulkhead, Cornbeef, Faceplant, Fudd, and UpChuck.

    Everyone deserves a nap!

Stats below: Looks like runners go over 10 and ruckers just under 9.

  • Frozen Triangle 2025

    Frozen Triangle 2025

    Who: All Pax

What: An epic CSAUP involving running or rucking to various AOs, stopping for a brief bootcamp at each AO.

When: February 8, 2025 (day before superbowl). Beginning at 6 a.m. Wrapping up around 9 a.m.

Where: Route begins at Dog Pile ==> Lynwood Elementary ==> Mary Munford ==> Dog Pile. Here is the route: https://tinyurl.com/2025-Frozen-Triangle-Route

Why: It is a CSAUP. You get to burn a bunch of calories prior to superbowl. Be a HIM. Wave around the American Flag. To quote one of the greatest HIMs, “Transformation does not happen in the comfortable middle. Transformation happens at the hard edges. ”

What’s next, how can I help?

    1. We need people to Q at Dog Pile, Punisher, and Mary. I have reached out a few via DM (check your messages).
    2. DTH to lead rucking group. Thank you.
    3. Need a team to lead provisions: I wanted to try something new for snacks/drinks this year. My idea being we could have a few guys drive an suv/van loaded snacks/drinks (I will provide) that meets the runners/ruckers at each destination.
This group would basically “setup” before arrival. If they want, participate in the AO beatdown. Then load up the supplies and move on to next AO waiting for people to arrive again. I think this would be a better approach because we won’t have to preposition vehicles or snacks.
    4. Would you be interested in helping or participating? Let’s go!!
  • Polos and Dockers

    Polos and Dockers

6, maybe 7, depends how you count it, total studs stopped off on their way home to pick up chicken and work off some pounds in the latest edition of The Punisher. Temperatures were 70 and sunny. According to the waitress at Dot’s Tavern, the following might have happened.

    COP

SSHs, Hillbillies, Don Quixotes, Dead Man Hang.

    Run the loop, 1.25 laps.

Line up at the parking signs. YHC felt inspired by Senor Frog. At each sign, we did 1-2-3. One burpee, 2 WWIIs, 3 merkins. Let’s call it 10 signs.

Mosey over there for the Deck of Death. Here’s the catch: we didn’t have a deck of cards, which is a little bit of a challenge when playing Deck of Death. So, YHC just improvised and called cards of his choice.

Diamonds: side straddle hops, or hop stride saddles
    Clubs: Monkey humpers
    Hearts: Squats
    Spades: Merkins

    This one will be back.

Mosey BTTVSF. One round of the squat wave, dealer’s choice.

Numbers, names, and The Handshake took us out.

    Announcements: Splintervals today.
January 25, Fudd leading at The Bridge. Other Q’s, please announce this.

NMS: Kubota and EF Hutton are sharp dressers for work.

  • The 2024 (Not So) Frozen Triangle

At total of 45 guys by my count (let me know if I missed you in any COT) showed up today at at last one COT and many, 36 by my count, completed multiple legs or rucked/ran the entire time, and this included an FNG that did the entire CSAUP. Way to go men! That’s a great day.

Oyster took the Q at Dogpile and kicked off right with a good old COT and then an ascending incline merkin ladder up the Amphitheater. That took up all the time and I don’t think Heist actually got the Q. Sorry buddy. We know you were ready. COT #1

Off to Punisher we went by any transportation you wish. 3.67 miles by my watch with a little circling back for the 6. Refuel and kickoff beatdown #2.

Spit kicked us off with a lazy (merkin filled) triple check with balls to the wall and people’s chair, then we got two rounds of tunnel of love – man I wish we were on the lush fields of NoToll for those, but we were not. Then YHC took the reigns and we did a little COP, some Donkey Kicks and WWIIs at some trees and then some ab work. COT #2

Off to 45MOM – 2.93 miles by my watch. Refuel and kickoff beatdown #3

Yee Haw joined the party and brought some stretches – thank you. But then the brought a beast of a 4 corners starting with 10 burpees – OUCH. Yee Haw tossed it to Faceplant who brought the creative Rock Paper Scissors competition that resulted in burpees and planks and ultimately, Slipping Jimmy pulling one out for the good guys (#2s) against Wildcat. Personally, I think Wildcat just wanted the extra 20 burpees. Sorry Team 1. COT #3

Off to complete the triangle and return to Dogpile – 2.49 miles by my watch for a total (not including bootcamps) of 9.09 miles.

Our resident Forrest Gump (Big Rig) ran the entire time logging over 20 miles. Our Ruckers clocked in over 9 miles too. STRONG work everyone!

As I said in my earlier Slack post, lots of guys helped pull this off. Thanks to you all. Many of you have asked for my Venmo. It is @Goldman-MP. No obligation to send anything. If you want to – don’t send much. Anything is appreciated.

Thanks for coming out and for participating. Looking forward to next year or there is talk of maybe trying a Hot Triangle south of the border (SOJ) this summer…stay tuned.

    No More Gumbo For You!

  • The Frozen Teaser

7 SOJ stud-ruckers crushed the 8.6 mile Frozen Triangle course in just under 2.5 hours, keeping a 16min/mile pace. We enjoyed excellent conversation, some cramping calves, and only one stop for Broadway to drop a mighty deuce at MM Elementary causing the fire alarm to go off. 😆 Way to get after it fellas! GTE #47 is only 91 days away. Let’s GO! 🔥👊💪 ~DTH

Two posted for this evening’s Punisher. Warmups with Imaginary Jump Ropes, Imperial Walkers, Don Quixotes, Helicopters, Suzanne Somers, and Small Arm Circles. We were talking about having a 2nd F next week so for those that need to check this box for the summer tour, please plan to come out to Dots Back Inn. The beer is cold and the apps are awesome!

It was an honor to lead today gents and I hope to see you in the gloom soon.

    Cheers….CB!

  • Just Playing a Round

Playing a round of frisbee target golf. Throw the frisbee to the target, taking turns until the target is hit. Various workouts and reps were called for each hole.

Chum Bucket led us through some yoga at the end and YHC took us out.
