Betty Weaver Elementary

Not too much to report, good crew out this morning for River Run. Flatter route was chosen, out and back from Bettie to River Downs and up to Roller Coaster. OC rucked around somewhere. Thoughts and prayers for Kevin, OC’s deck contractor, who may feel the wrath of a woman scorned if he doesn’t get his act together soon. -Singer

Three regulars descended from the vehicles and took off around Bettie Weaver for a holiday inspired route. Four milers – continuous clover leaf type turns in the neighborhoods surrounding Bettie and James River HS until YHC was ready to head back. One-armed leprechaun- hill repeats on Twin Team. Thought of the route on the quick jaunt over to the site, something like a clover but in review really not at all. Appreciated the time this morning with Doozy has he placed a 25 lb pack on and still dragged YHC around a better clip than normal. Maybe it was the…

YHC didn’t realize there was a Q as Doozy had declared hill repeats via text message, sorry Chaplain. YHC decided to toss out a route that summited Twin Team twice but not repeatedly beat ourselves into submission. Chaplain took the 2.0 on a flatter run. YHC took OC out around the Brigstock hood, and Doozy, Boberry and Bullseye repeated Twin Team in different manners. Good to have our buddy Bullseye back out as he recovers from surgery. Carry on my PAX friends. -Singer

Singer and YHC made it out of the gloom to arrive at River Run this A.M. Last night YHC texted his run plan to the usual RR suspects with the added disclaimer “I’m not going to take the Q because I’m not going to ask you guys to do this stupid stuff” YHC’s plan: Mosey to the track, 4 fast laps, 2 laps mosey with weighted vest, walk 1 lap. 3 fast laps, 2 laps mosey with weighted vest, walk 1 lap. 2 fast laps, 2 laps mosey with weighted vest, walk 1 lap. 1 fast lap, 1 lap mosey…

5 intrepid warriors of the gloom started their week off right. 2 opting for the challenge that is Twin Team, repeatedly. 3 chose to follow the F3 credo. They left no man behind, and left no man where they found him. Some discovered that the bathrooms of James River High School are heated. All pax got in right around 4 miles. Great work today! Thanks for rolling with me Doozy! Nice to see and catch up with Johnsonville a bit. Numbers names, announcements. YHC took us out. The centuryish classic round 2 will be the first Friday and Saturday of…

All three opted for a 4-mile route this AM so off to Powderham we went. Up Twin Team, Cawood over to the loop, once around and back over to Brigstock via Ellesmere. Return home for a little extra credit for around 4.3 miles. Good to have Lug back out these past few weeks, and good to catch up with House Party. -Singer

How many sliders did you consume yesterday? AND is that Lug Nut?! 5 strong made it out after a terrible Super Bowl, unless you’re an Eagles or Kendrick Lamar fan I guess. With various types of snacks still in our bellies, YHC decided on a route close to various types of bathrooms – down to the park and back around the school twice for 4 miles. Good to see Sanchez in week 2. Another newbie joined us for their inaugural River Run outing – Orby. Way to go gents. -Singer
