  • Shorties/BRR Meeting

15 hit Roller Coaster Wednesday evening – 6 ran some short loops on Hillcrest before the BRR meeting and the rest of the pax filtered in…

Short loops are tough – not much recovery time and it was crazy humid out there last night. Great job to all the runners..

Big thanks to TYA for his hospitality last night. Cold beers and Waters along with Watermelon and chips and salsa all topped off with BRR info!

It was an excellent night – the BRR Team is ready – we are one week out boys – looking forward to taking the hills with you guys !

    See ya in the gloom

  • Running Entropy

Some came from the north, others from the south, and some from around the block. Early, on time, and after 6….we had them all. Distances and routes varied across all extremes.

One thing in common was the fist pump as the Pax crossed paths interweaving all that Roller Coaster has to offer. The hills were mighty, the humidity high, and the spirit unbreakable.

There was rumor of New Market’s measure of success in evading Labrat at all times on the run. Labrat most certainly will not be apologizing.

YHC brought his other 2.0 to her first F3 workout. She worked the terrain and even chased down a deer until it bolted. Welcome Wolverine!

    Time to Taper,

    Lockjaw

  • Summer tour? Where are they all???

3 determined runners posted somewhere near launch time for a hot run. Everyone went on different jaunts, Lug put in 8.5 miles, Swirly 5.5 and TYA 4.5. Saab stopped by on his way home for a little 2nd F post run.

Ok, so if anyone reads this post and are signed up for the summer tour, I might make them mad. I know a ton of people are on a quest to hit all the AO’s during the summer months. YHC is completely supportive of this quest and loves the opportunity to reconnect with PAX the are not typically at my usual AO’s. I think it is and awesome challenge for anyone…..but, I have posted to the Wednesday Hill run nearly every week during the summer and only encountered a handful of summer tour PAX (Offshore, EF Hutton, Opus). Where is everyone else?? I have taken a few ribbings for not signing up for the tour, but would argue that it is worse to not accomplish the challenge if you signed up than to not sign up at all.

Come on out folks and complete your challenge. It would be great to have some more company on Wednesday night.

  • Husky’s Lemonade Stand

14 strong attended some, all, or part of the 2nd Annual Husky’s Lemonade Stand Roller Coaster/HDHH workout. The order of arrivals are in the order of the PAX list. Of course, Swirly was first!

8 strong hit the hills of River Road Hills for a Roller Coaster one mile loop. Swirly, TYA, Rosie, Gomer Pyle and BT all got in 4 one mile loops. HoneyDo and EF Hutton got in 3. YHC got in 2 (easy on the bum ankle). Husky had cold, fresh lemonade and water at the end of YHC’s driveway in order to try to raise some money for a new fit bit so he can track his steps/miles! Husky thanks each and every one of you!

After the loops, all moseyed back to Kuba Kuba Dos to meet Vinny, Chum Bucket, Gumbo, Handshake and Saab for drinks and feed. The large triangle table was full of noise!

Much to discuss and many tacos to eat. The Retreat is a must-attend! YHC wants to know if there will be more beer consumed at BRR or at the Retreat? What is your guess?

YHC hopes everyone had fun and SYITG!

    Kubota

    keep posting!

  • PreBlast – Roller Coaster/HDHH 8/7/19 at Kuba Kuba Dos (5:30pm)

PreBlast – Roller Coaster/HDHH 8/7/19 at Kuba Kuba Dos (5:30pm)

The Wednesday August 7th Roller Coaster hill run will launch from Kuba Kuba Dos (Tuckahoe Shopping Center). We will meet in the parking lot and have a hard start at 5:30PM. We will then run a nearby loop with hills in The River Road Hills neighborhood and then retreat back to the restaurant for HDHH! If you cannot make the run, please join us at the restaurant. Runners should be back by 6:15PM or so. This will be good training for BRR 2019 (the running part and the beer drinking part afterwards.) Also, you can check off TWO SUMMER TOUR ITEMS from your SUMMER TOUR list, one of which is EXTRA CREDIT! There are several tSummer Tour participants that need these AO’s to complete the tour. This will be the last “Kubota sponsored” HDHH this Summer. See ya there!

ps: there will be a lemonade stand at 105 Ralston Rd so have some change with you the help my 2.0 Husky out! He thanks you in advance!

  • Strong Breeze

4 studs posted to Roller Coaster this evening and here is how it went down.

    Honeydo – 1 medium – 2 short loops

    Vinny – 1 medium – 1 short loop

    TYA – 2 mediums – 2 short loops

    Swirly – 1 long- 1 medium – 3 short loops

Great job guys – really enjoyed it. Started out smoking hot on the first couple loops – but a very nice breeze there at the end to help cool things down.

BRR is coming soon – if you need to get some hill work in get yourself to Roller Coaster – Spider Run or River Run and get that work in…

Roller Coaster next week will be at Kuba Kuba 2 – Kubota has the Q.

    See y’all in the gloom.

  • Death, Taxes and Lockjaw at a HDHH

There are some things in F3RVA life that are certain: Lab Rat’s mumble chatter, Big Blue parked early in the gloom and Saab complaining about running routes. But the most certain thing is that if there is an HDHH scheduled in RVA, Lockjaw will be there! He cut his California work trip short so he could fly back on a red-eye and make tonight’s HDHH at Palani Drive. Well done!

9 strong posted for the Wednesday Hill Run. Swirly, Shakedown, Gomer Pyle and TYA started at 5:30pm and got 3+ miles in before meeting up with HoneyDo, Corned Beef, Hash, Doozy and YHC. We all then proceeded to the Hills Tempsford/Kennondale for hill repeats. Hash took off like a rocket and never looked back. Oh, to be 17 again! YHC admits that he was feeling good tonight and did a lot better than last time we ran these hills. Maybe it was the fact that BRR is coming up and the adrenaline was pumping a little more than usual. More than likely, it was the cooler temps.

Early group got in 7+ miles. Regular group got in 4+ miles.

Vinny, Lockjaw and EF Hutton and 2.0’s joined us for food and drinks. EF Hutton hauled tail back from a day at King’s Dominion so he could join us. Nice! You cannot call the Rebel Yell Roller Coaster “Rebel Yell” anymore. Just “Yell”

    Enjoyed it all and SYITG!

  • Bot-A-Tot

Four Southern Gentlemen and one TYA gathered at Roller Coaster. Virginia town names pronunciations kept us from all passing out.

Swirly said: 1 long, 2 medium, 2 short.

TYA pronounced: 2 medium, 2 short.

Double Mint announced: Combo routs, 2 short.

EF Hutton uttered: 2 medium, 1 short.

Vinny cried: 1 medium, 1 short.

Way to bang gentlemen. While the heat may not have been as bad as expected, the air was thick. Y’all are machines. Thanks for the refreshments afterwards TYA. They could only have been better in served if a red Pizza Hut cup.

  • The meek may inherit the Earth…

But they still won’t get as much tail as TYA after a neighborhood hill run…

6 stallions descended upon the hills-of-Hillcrest to push through the heat and tackle some elevation. Varying distances were had and some even ran with a weight vest (name rhymes with curly…).

Thanks to TYA for his hospitality in offering cold drinks afterward, and showing the PAX how to properly attract some passing milf’s and show why Bostonians are still known as the first REAL tea-baggers.

    Saab abides

  • Hot as the 4th of July

Hot as the 4th of July, or at least the day before the 4th. YHC arrived early to ensure he ran in the day’s hottest heat. A route was formed through the hills, the tributary hills, and an extension into Windsor Farms.

TYA pulled in as YHC wrapped up to blaze some miles of his own.

    ABT,

    Lockjaw
