2 dashing young F3 patrons emerged from the gloom for a stroll with weighted pack, under the Sky Q’s starlit vault whilst having some pleasant mumble chatter. These fine fellows logged 3.5 kilometer in just 40 minutes time.

Where two or more are gathered…great things can happen. Big Rig joined YHC for a few loops around Rockwood and inspecting the new baseball turf fields while discussing deep matters of life change. The beginning of change is recognizing something needs improving. We all have blind spots and sometimes the things we most need to change we can’t see ourselves without the insights of a loving brother. YHC is thankful for Big Rig and so many others who have shown up, led by example, and earned a seat at the accountability table. We are stronger together brothers. Yours AYE! ~DTH…
YHC grabbed the Q sheet earlier this week and by making this commitment, forced himself to learn something more about the Bon Air geography. It was a short lesson, however, as we stayed within the confines of the shopping plaza for the workout. Our usual 3 mile rucking workout was something a little different today. We rucked, we lifted our rucks. We rucked and then we walked forwards and backwards up a hill. We repeated this cycle 3 times. Those backwards walks will definitely build quads of steel for future workouts. Announcements: Chili cook off and Daddy Daughter dance. Prayer…
Three HIMs hit the gloom this morning and knocked out just over 3 miles. The mumblechatter was strong the whole way. Beaver’s getting back into the groove and heads into his first day back at work since the baby arrived. Dexter’s touring a new school for his little girl. YHC is grinding at work but grateful to be doing it local. Solid morning of miles and fellowship! Also waking up every dog in the neighborhood! Don’t waste the day!
One man launched from the previously mentioned rucking ground. Temperatures were, again, a seasonal 70 and sunny. According to the young man enjoying some sweet weed at 5:15 a.m. (not me) on the hotel’s back patio, the following might have happened. 60 minutes under 38 pounds. Number, name, and YHC took himself out. NMS: always fun to see people’s faces when they mistake a weighted vest for a police vest. This young man took about 3 seconds of “about to poop his pants” before YHC said,”Good morning” and continued walking past. YHC thinks weed might not even be illegal in…
House and I strapped on the rucks and hit the streets at 6am with a chill in the air. We completed the paved nature trail, plus a couple laps around the park. Its always amazing to see how many people are at Rockwood before the sun comes up. House Party is nursing a shoulder injury from bench pressing. Apparently, his max is slightly higher than mine. Overall, a solid ruck and a good time was had by all.
YHC woke his 2.0 up for this mornings workout and we arrived to find 3 more runners and 6 more ruckers to have a large crowd of 11 this cool morning for a run and ruck session. Runners immediatley took off to runa 4 – 4.5 mile route this morning. Ruckers launched and we picked up Bulkhead on the way to tour the Rutland area homes with some great Halloween Lights. We saw one house celebrating Diwali – the festival of lights, so a great morning for a Ruck. We finished with 2.5 miles this morning. Great to see Winchester…
The Ruckhenge ShieldLock adventured into new areas around the AO, sharing the pleasure of shouldering a log, stopping at every culdesac and turnaround for variable reps, and chatting about all manner of things, not least of which was the latest chapter of the Atomic Habits book we are reading. Essentially, your environment provides cues which trigger your habits – so, change your environment to support/simplify the habits you are working toward while reducing visibility/accessibility of those habits you are trying to remove. Simple, but true. Thank you gentlemen for permitting me the honor of leading you this morning. Yours AYE!…
Rucks and headlamps on, and we hit the streets of Rockwood at 6 am sharp. House and I had some great conversation about bad movies and Hopewell High School football. Towards the end of the ruck, a runner approached us and said there was someone looking for the F3 workout. We spotted “Mark” and were able to guide him back to our usual starting point. Overall, a solid workout before Purple Pain made his debut. SYITG
Nine (the best of the single digit odd numbers) PAX took an extra lap around the Stony Point Shopping Center while the tardy Q got his act together and then set off for a 3.5mi journey around the north end of Larus Park! Dr. Try Hard’s pesky 60lb friend once again joined us for our trek. Too tired to walk itself, Mr. Sandbag was shouldered by many a strong fellow. It was a great morning to be with these HIMs once again. At the end of our ruck we shared several announcements about the SOJ chili cookoff and father-daughter dance…
