The Hunt For Pavement
I was cruising down Courthouse Road at 5:50 am, and passed a couple of dudes running – who could possibly be out at this hour on a major thoroughfare? Of course, it was Big Rig and Boberry. They linked up with us briefly at the park, then continued on their journey.
Woodsman and I rucked through Rockwood for an hour, and checked out potential ice free spots for the workout.
Post-workout surveys suggested that a good time was had by all. -
Cold, Cold Ruck
I’ve gotta give credit to Commando for getting out this past Saturday for a Pre Lumberyard Ruck on a real frosty gloom, I promised I’d be there, but with the new phone, I did not pay attention to the details between AM & PM and slept in. Way to go Commando! 👏

“These Students Are Dedicated!”
2 backpack wearing students of the gloom emerged onto the Loco Motion AO for an OT.B ruck session in the heart of New Kent.
Bus drivers witnessed these couple of pubescent facial haired students walking around campus at a high pace as if they were late for class!
5k ruck achieved!

Tomato Commitment
We had one show up for the run and 2 ruck this morning. We did about 2.25 miles towards Kroger and around to clubhouse to finish and runner ran 4 miles this morning going over bridge to community around the Baptist Church and returned including the Bojangles Loop.
Numberama/namerama – Bam took us out in prayer.
Great ruck with Bulkhead this morning and we were talking about business where things have to be done right with no room for mistakes in new business arena.
Great workout this morning gents see you in the gloom soon.
Cheers….CB!

Creek Hopping & Hill Crawling
11 gloom studs tackled an off-trail adventure this morning that was perfectly suited for our favorite boy scout Doner Kebab, but perhaps the joke about ruck pull-ups thwarted his attendance. The all new 2.7 mile route (see pic on Slack) redefined the “outer loop” of Larus Park and started with a tiny jaunt trespassing around the Sabot School grounds, then back onto the North end of the park trail system, and then followed along Chippenham with quite a few steep decents, creek crossings, and incline bear crawls up steep leafy slopes. Akin to a gaggle of boy scouts on their first woods adventure, the PAX were in high spirits to conquer these little challenges, and in honor of our Credo dutifully completed squats (or other reps) for the SIX on many an occasion. TClaps to Sable and Doublemint bringing in the SIX. Been a LONG time since we enjoyed Doublemint’s fine company, and was also great to have his 2.0 Spinal Tap with us before he heads back to Colorado State this weekend. The PAX completed the Larus loop via off-trail woods between a couple houses and a small development, regrouped at Sneeds Nursery, then a final jaunt on trail back through to Trader Joes. COT included prayer for LWoods paralegal who lost her father yesterday, and for YHC’s church friend battling depression/suicide. Dealer and YHC decided ruck-wearing pull-ups would be a solid CSAUP challenge, and Snip, Sable, Bromance and L Woods joined the pull-up fun. YHC proudly completed two chin-ups carrying 40 pounds, but foresees great gains with a full year of pull-up strength training. The mobile pull-up station attached to YHC’s truck now proudly sports the numbers 1-26 on one 2×4 and 27-52 on the other, with those PAX completing the 2026 pull-up challenge able to sign the boards next to each week/number they complete. You versus you. GET SOME, AYE!!! Yours, DTH

I will be there
There was 7 who claimed they would be there including a guarantee that never came to pass. 1 Rucker and 4 walkers set off from The Bucks on Midlo. All came to share in some excellent mumble chatter. 60 minutes and 3.2 miles were logged.

70 & Sunny
The gloom waits for no one, however Commando waited for 2 more to join him moments after the clock struck 06:03. We quickly got strapped with our beloved ruck sacks and marched on through the rain and fog! Great Ruck men!

Rockwood Takeover
At 6am, Rockwood Park is typically packed with walkers and runners. This morning, Big Rig and I were the only ones dumb enough to venture out. YHC rucked for hour on the main road (forgot my headlamp). Big Rig was slacking and only ran 10 miles. We wrapped things up just as the ‘Rock N Roll crew began to assemble. -
Early Gloom OTB Ruck on a Friday
A couple of early risers emerged from the darkness for the earliest of rucks (04:20 start time) at our Loco Motion AO!
we had plenty of discussion and discovery going on as we traveled the outermost parts of the schools landscape before getting into the tree line. Great idea to get a ruck in pre gloom Commando! Always a pleasure! Way to get those miles in!
