  • Ultimate Gravel Hard

3 weighted backpack aficionados hit the streets of Chester at 6am. I was unable to spell “CHAP,” so we just walked down random streets. All gravel paths and trails were explored and typically went nowhere.

Highlights included walking the ultimate frisbee course and encountering a pajama clad maintenance man?? We also chucked a disc into the woods.

Heading back towards the flag, we reminded Big Rig, Mudslide, and State Farm to use proper form on their exercises, which was greatly appreciated.

Made it back in 55 minutes and began mental preparation for Tryhard’s savage beatdown.

A good time was had by all.
  • No Pain or Chaos

4 men, former representatives of Death and Liberty platoons, met for a some quick miles through Larus Park and the streets around Ruckhenge.

Here is how it went. Slow start across the parking where we did some good mornings, and prying goblet squats before hitting the trails. Some good banter and reminiscing took place with our returning brother NTB. Wrapped it up with a few down to the ground and up agains wearing packs as a little reminder of our Bootcamp at the War Memorial during GTE47!

  • Signed, PBVQ

While other Goyne Hard early birds tackled some upper body badassery, two steel-totin gloom warriors secured every corner of the AO in the pouring rain in preparation for Pool Boy’s VQ. No puddle was left unstomped…

THE RUCK, Part 1 = GOYNE CRAZY

    • PAX followed a seemingly insane meandering route all over Goyne Park…the result?

THE RUCK, Part 2 = GOYNE SECURED

    • For the second half of the hour, the PAX circumnavigated the park and disc golf course, discussing among many other things the addictive nature of electronics, especially in children.

    COT:

    • Namerama
    • Variable stretching awaiting the VQ

NMS:  Nothing like a warm downpour and fine company to start a new day. Choo Choo was a little bewildered with our initial meanderings but was dutifully impressed with the resulting picture. Really enjoyed our conversation brother. Yours AYE!  ~DTH

  • Exploring the Goyne

4 brave Gents beat the heat to explore what the Goyne has to offer. No law enforcement had to be called for the random guy rifle carrying a sledge hanger through the neighborhood. Quick water break halfway through, then on to the plastic frisbee wanna be golf course. We made it back to the jungle gym for dips, pull ups, jerkins, and a quick mosey BTTF. 2.5 miles to start the morning off.

  • Rucking Bells

Four rucked up for this morning’s edition of Ruckhenge. Near perfect weather placed us in the zone.

We began with a 2 mile ruck through the trails of Larus Park and BTTF (or where it will be next week). We then engaged in a session of ruck bells as follows.

Pair up for, I go then you go rounds of:

    1. 16 single arm, amour building complex (ABC—ruck swing, clean, overhead press, swing, switch hand, swing, clean, overhead press, 2 squats). Next round start opposite side.
    2. 5 sets of 5 rucks up from the ground and overhead press
    3. 10 sets of 10 single arm hard style ruck swings, alternating sides

Followed by coffee and banter, thanks lads.

    1. Just A Walk In The Park

8 Highly Impactful Men ventured around the grounds of Rockwood Park for what wasn’t your typical walk in the park. Lots of great chatter on multiple topics. We passed around 3 cindies on our trek. Doing some rifle carries along the way. At one point DTH and myself, did an impromptu test to see who could rifle carry the longest. I let him win because I had an itch.

Great to have Choo Choo join us for his first Ruck. PAX made the coupon carries look easy. Almost wish I would have brought more coupons. As always, I was blessed to lead.

    2. Fake it till you make it.

Fake it till you make it.

Sometimes it IS your first rodeo.

5 hearty HIMs conquered the darkness with Ruck Star style. YHC (Rodeo Clown) faked it with confidence (only 2 wrong turns) for my Virgin Q as we kept up a brisk pace at nearly 2.5 miles of steamy hills and swampy bottoms. With the PAX begging for more, we returned to the flag with enough time to squeeze in two sets of Merkins – of course we were wearing our rucks. YHC needed the extra practice (learning how to count) as I worked out the kinks with my first Q. Thanks were given in COT for our fellowship and how the PAX supported a brother in his successful quest for employment. Tasty food and beverages at Einstein’s were enjoyed by all. We washed things down with our ever-savory (and sometimes spicy) conversation.  High 5’s were exchanged as we headed out to conquer the day!

    3. Happy Birthday Banksy!!!

An iron PAX warrior, a DTH-pipeline FNG, a ruck-virgin Birthday Boy, and your humble correspondent. 45 minutes of awesome conversation rucking a couple miles around Rockwood, finished off with 10 minutes of Mudslide Broga. GREAT way to start the day gentlemen, and a Happy Birthday to Banksy! Yours AYE! ~DTH

    4. Ruck in the Goyne

3 of us headed out to ruck around. Looped the football field before headed to the back 9 of the disc golf. Made our way through the neighborhood and back to the park. Finished out with some Bernie’s up the hill by the football field. The FNG later named Choo Choo came prepared for the ruck, and House party and myself filled him on what to be prepared for. Great morning fellas. All in about 2.5 miles
