  • We Did 10

At 6am YHC and a newly enhanced House Party hit the streets. We rucked through all the usual Rockwood Park hot spots – even passing Boberry and Big Rig on the paved nature trail. Apparently they arrived early and got in a 9 mile run – impressive! Our total mileage was not revealed.
  • Blistery Winds Run

YHC and Bullseye left the parking lot in seek of protection from the elements, and so Salisbury it was. Out Oakengate to Winterfield and back, 4.5+miles were logged.

Apologies to Draper, heard the car horn as we crossed the street but thought it was a ‘hello’ beep and not a ‘wait for me’ beep. Bullseye and I turned around several times on the straightaway, pausing to see if anyone was joining, before plunging into the depths of the dirt road near Ms. Weaver’s house.

    Conversations were had and appreciated.

  • Running on Empty

No ties to the run itself, just seemed like a classic name for a F3 run. YHC had Grinch-esque ideas of running a Tarrington loop so off we went. The route was not disclosed until the hill was underway. Ha, got em. 4.35 miles in total up Tarrington and through Powderham -> Brigstock, Solstice -> Twin Team and home.

    Stay safe.

  • Stone Harbor Run

Bullseye mentioned a trail run out to Stone Gate and off we went. Nice change of scenery hitting the trails, don’t think YHC would have gotten us through those in the pitch dark. 4+ miles logged. Good stuff. Happy December.

  • Stranger Things Run

YHC and Bullseye left the larger SOT crowd for a jaunt through the underworld known as Salisbury. 4ish miles in and around the hood and back to the point of beginning. No sightings of #001, #011 or the Hellfire Club. Nice hang at the StrangerBucks for coffee after.

  • Solo El Tarrington II

The typical crew was out, YHC ran from home to the AO, circled the empty parking lot and took off for the hills. One hill actually, little different route up Ashwell into Powderham down Ellesmere back to Mt. Hill. Ran into a loose dog that didn’t appreciate the invasion of space, back track down Solstice through the woods and home. 4.5 miles total.

  • Free For All at Sunday Funday

None of us really knows how many guys showed up to do the “come as you are when you are ready” event that is Sunday Funday. According to local legend passed among the campers in the park, 2 started at 6:15, 4 started at 7, one or two started at 9, and someone went biking. For all involved, temperatures remained constant at 70 and sunny.

The 7 a.m. launch included a near millionaire, and near billionaire, a guy with a fever, a guy with 50 direct reports, and 150 bikers. Route: Bridge, dog poop, Buttermilk, Belle Isle (top loop), North Bank (note the Oxford comma), and BTT (watch out for the super fast mountain bikers!!) VSF.

    7-ish miles.

NMS: Tons discussed…Kristi Noem’s sweet heart, no-bid $150MM contract to friends, worshiping dead racists, waterfront preservation work, stains magically appearing on a very specific part of your shorts, Jamaicans being detained by ICE at 2:30 a.m. in the hospital (ok, that one involved an old lady tripping on morphine). But, never a dull moment.

Race results: Confusion reigned on the podium. UpChuck DQ’d for taking the hiker route, but managed to slide past Shakes / Offshore on the home stretch courtesy of a well-timed rendezvous with a friend of Shakes’ (note the apostrophe) on the trails. Somehow, slowest guy crossed the finish line first. Definitely not pretty…we’ll call it a draw.

    Announcements:

Kubota has the Q at First Watch, the AO with the best mumblechatter in all of F3-dom on Wednesday. That kicks off Seazn of Giving. Then, K-man has the Q for The Bridge on December 27. Clown cars forming now.

Couple of races coming up…Snowy Owl in early January, and Bel Monte in March. LG!

  • Crazy 8

With the temps back in the 30s and 40s it makes it easier to push the pace and distance. 14 pax showed up to Rick and Run around Westhoe. There was a little mumble chatter off the start about being sore from yesterday’s KBs at Circus… But that soon faded as we turned to go take on some hills.

Pushed the pace today on the 5.5 mile route with Chicaron, so we didn’t get a chance to chatter with others.

The ruckers all seemed to be in good spirits when they returned to the AO.

EF Hutton said we wanted more hills..

Pinto and a few others took on the 4.5 mile route

Lighthouse picked up Full House and covered some extra credit.

thank you all for showing up and holding me accountable.

  • Perfect morning for a run/ruck

3 runners and 6 ruckers came out to hit the mean streets of Mechanicsville on the most gorgeous day of all.

4 plus miles by the runners, 2.5 by the ruckers.

    Good times had by all

  • the NASCAR route

this weeks edition of the Miles Of Truth run was mostly successful. Only two falls by a PAX who shall not be named here…. YHC went for simple on the route, and let’s just say Derek Zoolander would not have been able to do it.
4s: left on 60, left on Charter Colony, left on Woolridge , left to take the loop at Midlo mines park, left back onto Woolridge, left onto 60, finish at invisible shovel flag.
5s: before ISF, left at top of mt Midlo, left through new townhomes neighborhood, left on Woolridge, left onto 60, back ISF

Numbers, names, announcements, YHC took us out

EF Hutton going to bridge a week from Saturday, gingerbread contest at hardywood downtown on Sunday, if you or someone you know needs a ham or seasonal work see YHC, prayers for Drapers neighbor.
    NMM
