  • Beautiful WTH morning

We always enjoy a warm dry workout as we are leaving winter. 5 brothers crept out in the gloom this morning to keep working on ourselves. Left home base and headed towards the senior apartments at the end of Three Chopt Rd. stopped at first shopping center and did a little warm up: 10 SSH, 5 Helicopters, 5 Don Qs, 10 merkins, 20 LBCs. Time to keep moving towards our future home. Stopped again did 20 Merkins run touch pole across parking lot and back, 20 two count American hammers, run to pole and back, 20 two count Imperial walkers and run and back, 6 was in and off we went. Once at the senior community cul-de-sac. 20 merkins, run loop around parking pavilion, 20 reverse crunches, run loop again, 20 Hillbillies run loop, 20 burpees run loop, 20 American hammers to catch our breath and them mosey back to flag. At base, we had just enough time to fit in 20 more merkins and 20 more American hammers. COT Q closed up in prayer. 3.8 miles of ground covered . Announcement: The White animals will be leading Gridiron Q on Saturday, dont miss out for this promising workout, request for White Russians to close the workout was mentioned, We shall see what is to be. Was nice to have Offshore workout with us today. enjoy the week Brothers

  • BLAMPS.

We started with a miscommunication, causing Pigskin to miss COP.  After running to W. Broad Village, we did some Arm Circles, DQs, Cherry Pickers, SSHs, Mt Climbers, Flutters, and Merkins. Pinto then led us straight to Pigskin.

Now that the crew was together and warmed up, we got to the main event: BLAMPS.  This was called because I enjoyed BLIMPS, but couldn’t think of an exercise beginning with the letter I.  So, we did BLAMPS: 10 Burpees, 10 Lt Dans, 20 American Hammers, 10 Merkins, 20 Plank Jacks and 10 Speed Skaters – running around the perimeter of the parking lot between each.  Kudos to Bottle Cap for showing us great Speed Skater technique and how to modify if you have any lower back issues.

Then I saw some stairs. We went up 3 stories and down. Mosey. More stairs. Up and down.

More BLAMPS at the next stop.

Next up: 7s. Like 11s, but 7s. Merkins and WWIIs.

    BTTVF.

40 seconds left, so we did Merkins to failure.

    Numbers. Names. Announcements: None

    Prayer Requests:

Homer’s mother is entering hospice. Please pray for him, his mother and his family.

Whitesnake’s Father-In-Law will be moving assisted living facilities (staying in RVA). No small task. We’ll be praying for you and your family brother!

    YHC took us out.

Final thought: God has granted the men of F3RVA strength. Let’s use it to be strong for someone who needs it today.

  • Back with the Pax

  • Pump Park Party

As the sun began to rise, five friends gathered at the trailhead, their breath visible in the crisp morning air. With determination in their eyes, they set off on their 3-mile journey through the winding paths of the short pump park forest. Along the way, they encountered their first challenge: 25 burpees—5 then run a loop (5x). That was Pigskins favorite. Despite the burn in their muscles, they cheered each other on, pushing through together.

As they continued their run, they reached a clearing where they decided to incorporate a four corners exercise, twice over, adding a playful twist to their workout routine. With their silence echoing through the trees, they did WIIs, reverse crunches, squats and lbcs (10,20,30,40) and did it again with HRM, heels to heaven, American hammers and jump squats.

Then they headed back and arrived at the bus loop. Undeterred, they rallied together and jogged around the loop twice, using it as an opportunity to reach a full 3 miles.

Glad to have Centrum Silver visit from Roanoke. This was his first time at WTH having been to Circus Maximus on a prior visit.

  • we tried to make it 70

3 showed this chilly morning to help Whitesnake get ready for his 10 mile Bear creek run coming in a few weeks. The thing: mosey to parking decks at West broad village. First trip up, stop at each level 10 merkins, 10 two count crossover LBCs( elbow to opposite knee). Run back to bottom. 2nd trip up: 10 SSH and 15 WW2s, run back to bottom, mosey to gazebo at lake. 3 sets of 15 dips, 10 durkins. Mosey around lake back to flag. 3.7 miles covered.

  • Last day of Dry January

5 faithful gathered this cool morning and got our steps in today. Living up to the running boot camp we covered 4 miles today. We ran to our popular neighborhood and hit the Cul-De-Sacs. First few we did 10 Merkins and 10 WW2s, after those we bumped up to 15 or each, on the way back to the flag we took the long way around the lake. 135 merkins, 135 WW2s completed with 4 miles run. Thought we lost Pigskin for a few mins at one point. A good day to workout! Reminders of frozen triangle coming up, closed in prayer and off to start the day!

  • Tunnel Vision

Just like Magellan, Leif Erikson, & James Cook before us, the WTH group of three went on a dangerous expedition. This one was to find the rumored Wellesley tunnel. After almost a mile and half of running, we discovered an unusual entrance hidden beneath the roots of an ancient oak tree. The entrance, covered by invisible thick vines and moss, seemed to lead to an underground tunnel. Unable to resist the allure of the unknown, the trio decided to explore. Descending into the mysterious tunnel, we found ourselves in a dimly lit passage adorned with symbols and carvings, hinting at a rich history. The air was cool, and the echo of their footsteps filled the chamber as we delved deeper into the hidden world beneath their feet.

At the other end was what looked like a weird assembly of four fenced in prison camps. They were empty, minus some netting and brooms that must be from some ancient torture. Feeling like we were being watched, we did some warmups of Helicopters, Don Quixote’s, Ukrainian Soldiers and Cherry Pickers. Then, to confuse the locals, we ran up and down the outside of the fences, forming an “H” and did a total of 100 WWIIs, 100 Squats and 25 burpees. Worried about whether we could find our way back alive, we ran back through the cold tunnel and made a brief short cut. We ran back and totaled 3.3 miles. We finished with 25 Flutters and 25 Hand Release Merkins before departing in our shuttles back home. Another successful WTH mission.

  • So, so cold

Three heroes braved the elements on a very cold morning. Wise people said that parking deck is warmer, so this is where we went. First round we did 5 Burpies on every turn and went all the way up. But the outside level was icy, so on the next round we decided to stay inside. On other rounds we did 25 Merkins, 25 Squats and 25 American Hammers. Back to the Flag got us to 3.5 miles. It is good to know that it will get warmer… eventually.

P.S. My usual apologies for being late with Backblast. White Snake: Thank you for motivation!

  • Really, really, really ridiculously good looking

Three of the most dedicated WTH models and YHC got together this morning in Short Pump for some fun and to perfect the Blue Steel pose. I wore my new shirt yesterday but everyone else wore them today. Lighthouse was wearing his new orange F3 shirt and apologized “I’m sorry that good looking people like us made you throw up and feel bad about yourself.” Pinto, with his new shirt, gave us some backstory: “Well I guess it all started the first time I went through the second grade. I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking “wow, you’re ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career.”

We took off for Short Pump Park and the Pavilion for some warmups. After that we did some AMRAPs as the timer ran the loop. We did squats, step ups, SSH, Dips, American Hammers, LBCs, Dolly’s and HRM. After we were done, we did them all again as a group (ten count) so everyone got to do all the exercises. We then ran up Pump and across to the Nissan lot. In the lot we ran up and down the lot a couple times and did a total of 20 Burpees.

We then ran back to Pocahontas middle and hit the track for one lap before getting back to the start. 2.9 miles total. Not hitting 3 miles made everyone upset. If there is anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us, it’s that a male model’s life is a precious, precious commodity. Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn’t mean that we too can’t ruin our day by not hitting 3 miles at WTH.

As we broke off, Pigskin, wearing his new shirt for the second day in a row, was off to a morning of volunteering and left us with these important words: “At the Pigskin Center For Kids Who Can’t Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too, we teach you that there’s more to life than just being really, really, really good looking.” Wise words indeed.

  • Somebody nose

I need to write a backblast for yesterday’s workout.

At 5:30, somebody nose what we are going to do today. It turned out to be YHC. We decided to follow our knows to the Dave & Buster parking deck for stairclimbing. I sniffed out a shorter distance so that I would get there about the same time as Lighthouse, Pinto and Whitesnake. Actually, I got there slightly before they did and kept running in their direction. Right at the corner of the parking deck, we bumped noses. I no, running that close to the corner was poor judgement on my part.

The gameplan; start at the bottom of one stairwell, run to the top level, run across the top level over to the other stairwell, run to the bottom, turn around and run back to the top level, return across the top level to the first stairwell, run to the bottom and do 20 merkins. Now that everyone nose what to do, we repeated this evolution. I did 6 times and the others did 1 more than I did. I think I did 6 times, but nobody nose for sure.

From here, Whitesnake and I followed our knows back to Pocahontas parking lot the most direct way. Pinto and Lighthouse no a longer way and so met us about 1 minute after we got back.

Takeout: Life doesn’t allow us to go back and fix what we have done wrong in the past, but it does allow us to liver each day better than our last.
