3 regulars and an outsider gathered for an SOJ takeover in what had to be the coldest morning this year. YHC left SOJ late and was coming in hot when he realized he left his stocking cap and warm gloves at home. This is going to suck Q’s plan is to head to the lake and circle that with some exercises until its time to return. Pig Skin says no, I’m heading to the parking deck to get out of the wind. Everyone else said, yep that’s what we are doing. Okay, adapt and overcome. YHC went with to the…
On a crisp, dark morning with the temperature at a brisk 21°F, four dedicated PAX gathered for a mix of running and bootcamp. The workout featured cul-de-sacs, where we hit each stop with 15 Hand Release Merkins and 25 Crunchy Frogs. By the end of the workout, we had covered 3.5 miles. A special shoutout to Mr. Rogers, who joined us fresh off the beaches of Hawaii, where the weather was a balmy 80°F. Adjusting to our chilly conditions isn’t easy, but he crushed it nonetheless. Great work, everyone!
Three showed on this frigid morning to try and warm up moving around the far westend. On cold days like this 15 degree start we all decided exercising in the parking decks at West Broad Village was the right move. We took off and navigated the snow covered sections of sidewalks and ice to make it to the parking deck. First round: 10 merkins 10 WW2s, 5 up and 5 back down, the top levels were a sheet of ice so we stopped at the edge of cover. 2nd round: 10 sets: 10 jump squats, 10 SSHs. 3rd round: 10…
On a crisp 30-degree Christmas morning, three regulars gathered to start the day before diving into the festivities. The workout consisted of four loops around the lake, alternating directions with each lap. At the end of each loop, we stopped for 15 Step-Ups, 25 Dips, and 25 Crunchy Frogs. Surprisingly, not a single dog walker crossed our path—perhaps all the pups were enjoying a holiday sleep-in. By the end of the session, we had logged 3.5 miles. Merry Christmas to all!
We ran a little over 3 miles including a quarter pounder with merkins, plank jacks, mountain climbers and SSH, two rounds of partner bus loop runs with HRM and three hundred yard sprints. We left our mark on the Short Pump Elementary football field.
We decided the answer was ‘no’ so we ran to the parking deck where Dave and Buster’s is. It turns out that across the street is a really nice-looking Ford Model A(?). It is not true that I learned how to drive in that model. (I learned how to drive in a 1965 Rambler Classic.) We started at the bottom of one stairwell with 20 merkins, ran up the stairwell, across the top level to the other stairwell, down to the bottom and back up, returning to the first stairwell and down to the bottom. I managed to get 7…
As the morning temperature plummeted from a balmy 50°F to a brisk 33°F, four dedicated regulars gathered to enjoy a travel-free Thanksgiving workout. On the way to the AO, the last song I caught on the radio was “Make Me Sweat.” It got me thinking: would it even be possible to sweat in these freezing conditions? Turns out, it definitely was! The main event consisted of four loops around the lake, switching directions after each lap. Between laps, we knocked out 20 Derkins, 20 Dips, and 20 Crunchy Frogs. Pigskin’s recovery is very impressive—so much so that we thought he…
Five regulars and a FNG ran 4 miles this morning in our successful quest for the Wellesley tunnel. We did some warmups in the lot near the Gazebo first and then hit the tunnel and stopped at the tennis courts. We did one round of H. 20 count of an exercise at each point and 5 burpees in the middle cross—and you need to cross after each exercise. Started with the 5 burpees and then four exercises were dips, WWII, Merkins and Squats. Total of 25 burpees. Roger Roger took us out a new paved trail to extend the running…
