4 brave HIMs came out to play in the rain this morning. Had we known there was vandalism running amuck in Pountrey, we may have hit the streets earlier! According to Rudy’s Ring camera, here’s what took place…

Went down Bellstone Ct to check in on some of our compadres, but lights were off. Loop down to the reservoir and back up past McGruffs to the burnt down gas station and through the rolling hills. Good pace today, rain held off for the most part, and we’re better men for being out there!

Lots of good chatter. Fandango wanted to hijack an amazon car for fun, Toby has many HR violations to log at work today (unless he truly is CIA), Flyboy got realllllly excited when someone mentioned vortex ring state, and YHC asked is anyone was watching Last of Us.

    Good times boys!

  • ULTIMATE (Drunk History Version)

The weather is warmer, the sun is shining a little brighter in the morning which means only one thing – it’s ULTIMATE time. Swoop and Rudy co-lead the event but both have failed to sit down and record it for the pantheons of history to remember. No worries, iron sharpens iron – Crabby is here to pinch-hit. For those not familiar, Drunk History understands the passage of time often has a way of rewriting history. After Nancy’s cinder block-big rock beatdown, the details of yesterday are a bit fuzzy…

Team 1 – Wildcat, Rudy, Fandango, Warby, Cookie, Mudslide, Flyboy

Team 2 – Crabgrass, Tzatziki, Swoop, Matlock, Woodsman, Heist, Bobsled

It should be said, Team 2 DOMINATED out the gates. For how long they dominated is up for debate.

    Low lights for Team 1:
    – Warby dropped the disc on goal line *FUMMBBBLLLEEEEEEE* and was sad when a turnover was called
    – Quiet game for Fandango, when Rudy is on his team and he can’t poke fun of him, he’s at a loss for words. 2 kickoffs out of bounds has me questioning things. TB12 fell off at 45 too
    – Rudy did not wear his VCU jersey which is good since it would’ve gotten grass stains on it. 2 critical drops today.
    – Flyboy literally had low lights since he failed to get the field lights turned on
    – Mudslide couldn’t outrun Swoop this time #csaup
    – Wildcat was the beacon of light for this team today
    – Cookie carried the team, I think because of high energy levels from hibernation and hitting the weight room

    High lights for Team 2:
    – Woodsman dominated the middle of the field, dude was everywhere!
    – Matlock took “tomahawk” quite literally, adjusting his throwing style to that of an axe throw, catching both the defense and his teammates off-guard
    – Bobsled – FNG from Green Mile showing up big this week and off to Honduras for a missions trip next week, guy is big time and glad to have him out there
    – Tzatziki we had a plan where he would take off and I’d hit him with a bomb down the sideline. It’s ready for when we need it
    – Swoop overcame his spin cycle demons and was making some great grabs out there.
    – Heist increased his catch rate by 150% from last time. Early contender for Comeback Player of the Year
    – Crabgrass is here to set the tone out there. We’re gonna go inside, we’re gonna go outside, inside and outside…

We ran 2.30 miles while having a great time. Good to be out there having fun today, we are all looking forward to a fun-filled summer!

Speaaaaaaaaaaaking of which – We will be doing an official F3 “Boys of Summer” competition at Timberwolf this summer, May 29th through August 28th. Details to come, but come out, compete, and win points and you may walk away with the Timberwolf 2025 Champion trophy!

9 HIMs came out to show Alamo is more than a parking lot! Left the stop sign right at 5:30 and made our way past Matlock house and his hoarding neighbor. After a quick game of Frogger, we reached the back pond and took advantage of the sunlight to go along the path and eventually up Mt. Dora.

with a quick pace we made it to the reservoir for a foggy stroll with the smell of honey suckle serving as a nice change of pace from the sweat smells. We relived CSAUP, spoke about an event on September 26 (save the date, evening event) and finished it off with useful information on bee reproduction.

  • That Sucked

said the Big Herm to the YHC. Handshakes introduced Alamo this workout, today we carried on the tradition only this time with slightly larger blocks.

Mosey lap around the pool for a quick warmup and stretch and got ready for some fun.

Partner up and each team grabs a block. P1 runs to far end of parking lot and back while P2 does an exercise. Move up one parking space and switch. Rinse and repeat until we get to the far end.

5 exercises were Standing Side Bends, Curls, Overhead Press, Squats, Kettlebell Swings

YHC and Futon had a title to defend today, L Woods came out like a thoroughbred and kept the pace steamy at the beginning. A few members of the pax were dressed for winter and after 2 rotations started shedding layers. Lots of draft chat but mumbles were quiet today.
the workout ended and Big Herm let us know it sucked, which means fun was had by all!

prayers for FlyBoys neighbor and congrats to the Costanzo family on announcing they are pregnant with their third child.

    Until next time fellas!

  • Rucking

9 fast-paced walkers with weight in their back emerged from the gloom to enjoy the beautiful morning. YHC felt inspired to take the scenic route so we headed to the reservoir. Up the hill to McGruffs (no McGruff today) and across the street to hit the hills and make our way back.

Today’s topics were the cost of daycare vs the cost of dance, but can you really put a price on some things? Rudy needs to mow his lawn. How many Amelia burpees did Futon do today. Proper safety protocols when using a saw so you don’t lose a finger.

lots of good inspiring stuff! Weather is perfect for being outdoors, Rudy has his NFL draft themed workout at Timberwolf tomorrow, come on out!

  • Ruck-a-ccino

7 HIMs came out on a cold April morning to enjoy the cool air. It was a busy morning in the hood, many more cars on the road than normal. No worries, onward we go.

YHC had his wife’s yoga pants on and set a brick pace for the squad. Skipped are usual route and went around the far side of RounTrey. Made our way to Alamo, Flyboy thought we were going home, but no, more time to ruck so we skipped around the other way past 3 Doors Down and made our way to the reservoir.

Flyboy thought we were going to exit by Swoops house and drop him off but nope, YHC zigged when Flyboy was ready to zag and we swung past Sunny Ds and up the hill to Rudy’s. And timmme

  • Gauntlet #2 – Stairway to Heaven

This is the second time I have done this style of workout and it seems to be a hit, so more to come! The lesson I learned this go-round is when the music plays, the PAX’s pain goes away! According to the bullfrog trying to get some this morning, here’s what went down:

Mosey to the stop sign and back, circle up for a good warmup. Nice 70 degree morning, felt the sweat already.

    Gauntlet
    3 Burpee buy-in
    15 Squats with resistance band
    15 Curls with cinder block
    15 Merkins with resistance band
    15 Lunges with sandbag
15 Bent over rows with KB
    15 KB swings
    15 Picklepounders
Run to top of Satan’s Hill and back

Rinse and Repeat for 30 minutes.

Mudslide and Wildcat set the pace and everyone gave a great effort today, that was good stuff men! I believe we did 5-6 rounds. Mudslide took us out with 3 minutes of Broga. Shoutout to TSG for rucking while he recovers from injury. I don’t know where he went nor what he did, but I’m sure it was epic.

CSOP and Bridge coming up. Prayers for Cookie’s family, his 53 year old uncle recently passed from a heart attack.

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy a bourbon, you earned it

6 HIMs gathered at the stop sign. 1 HIM we found running. 1 HIM jumped out from behind a tree and startled the unsuspecting newcomers to the RounTrey Ruck Club. All in total, 8 HIM came out to put some work in!

Started at stop sign, had light conversation on what’s better than a kettlebell or MTG cards to get weight in your pack. Only took 5 minutes before TSG felt lost but his spirits were lifted when we passed Matlock out there crushing it on his gloomy run!

Walked past McGruffs house, nothing. Around the bend and crosses the road by the gas station. Walking up the hill with no lights whatsoever on it, McGruff was in his element and rushed us from the cover of the trees and scared a few of us pretty good. You never know where he may appear from! There was some debate on whether he had his pants up while he was in the woods by himself.

We reminisced a little on FlyBoys life and made our way through the rolling hills and eventually back to the start. We’re hopeful that Tobey doesn’t notify HR on us today…

  • Ruck-a-ccino

6 HIMs got out there and got after it today. It was a chilly morning and none of us had coffee, so Fandango and Warby set a good pace out the gates as we left the stop sign and made our way to Alamo. Looped around by McGruff’s house and crossed over to pay our respects to the gas station.

Worked our way through the rolling hills by the reservoir and looped around back to the start. 3.5 miles in total.

Conversations varied. Flyboy, a new member of the Pax, joined us with a backpack of various trinkets that included Magic The Gathering (MTG for you cool kids) cards and that got us on a tangent of Pokemon and baseball cards. We reminisced on some good workouts we’ve had of late, and we tackled the very important issue of using another man’s emoji without his consent.

good to get after it today!

  • Capture the Flag

6 HIMs came out for a new rendition of grown men doing grown boy things – Capture the Flag

Rudy led the pax to the front parking lot for a warmarama. Then split the group into teams of 3.

    Round 1

Team Blue headed to basketball courts, Team Black to the front of the school. YHC headed around to the bus loop and surprised the piss outta Rudy, spooking him into the 1-2 combo of a Dumar Hermey defensive trap. With the advantage we pressed to the flag. McGruff is really good at hiding in bushes and gave YHC a good chase. Hermey and Crabgrass couldn’t find the flag and eventually were tagged out. Dumar and McGruff were locked in to a draw. Lesson learned, don’t hide the flags and condense the field of play

Intermission – BLIMPS on the hill

    Round 2

Team Blue in the bus loop, Team Black at the Tomahawk Creek sign. Both teams felt the best strategy was to loop around from the street. Aisle 5 and McGruff struck early, grabbing BLUE flag but Dumar turned on the speed and recaptured the flag. Hermey knows that you attract bees with honey, and he gave Rudy some honey to look at. Enamored by Hermey’s fluid movements, YHC maneuvered along the tree line and made a move in the flag. A quick snatch drew Rudy’s attention and the race was on. Rudy forgot YHC got some new shoes and never stood a chance – smoked him! (YHC reserves the right to embellish)

BTTF for a ring of fire Squat style.
announcements and prayers and we were out. Prayers for Dumar’s dad and celebrate Rudy’s recent victory with his job search.

Was fun out there today. There may have been some uncertainty of what Crabby and Rudy had in store, but we all walked away with a big smile on our face today.
