  • Down the Ladder

Another magnificent Thursday welcomed 5 KB warriors.  Amidst the early morning gloom, here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • Dead man hang
      • Arm circles – big/small, forward/backward
      • Helicopters
      • Merkins
    • KB Ladder
      • Ladder starting at 10 of the following exercises
        • Sumo squat with a high pull
        • Curls
        • Overhead shoulder press
        • Flutters kicks with a KB press
      • Chaser of 10 lawnmower pulls with each arm after each set
    • Run the bus loop
    • KB burn-out with sit ‘n presses and KB hammers, countdown from 7 to 1
    • Run the bus loop
    • Dealers choice
      • Peoples chair with curls and presses
      • Overhead pulls
      • One handed swings
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work from the PAX today.  Byproduct was back in the fold and Gypsy found a way to get there before COP was complete.

God is good all of the time!

  • Handshake’s Lost Manhood

The flags were stiff as our worthy adversary, the wind chill, tried to make the fart sack look attractive.  However, 7 noble warriors embraced the gloom at HBR.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Arm circles – big and small
      • Helicopters
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Mosey around the school to the black top for a one man Dora
      • 100 HRM in sets of 20
      • 200 2x flutter kicks in sets of 40
      • 300 monkey humpers in sets of 60
    • Mosey back to the parking lot for a Captain Thor
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX today.  The Dora started strong with the HRM and ended with a leg burner and monkey humpers.  On a positive note, no burpees, and we stayed dry. The arms and legs should feel some burn later. The 300 monkey humpers was a surprise for Honeydo.

Now we must address Handshake.  Last night he churned up a text string, looking for a Q, complaining about YHC Qs, and offering to Q himself.  He even referred to his “insatiable” bedroom “reputation,” accompanied by scissor and eggplant emojis.  Fast forward to this morning where it appears the scissors were not for a small snip, but an all-encompassing clipping of his manhood.  Handshake (and all his mumble chatter) was silenced.  His manhood was nowhere to be found. He says he could not sleep last night.  No truth to the rumor he spend last trying to quench his “insatiable” thirst for himself while watching his 10 second local television commercial debut on an endless loop.  Please do not think about that in the hour immediately preceding or following your lunch.  I believe that his “leadership” to push for a Q then fart sacking should result in 100 punitive burpees.

Prayers for Gypsy with his upcoming toe surgery.  Continued thankfulness that Pinto was unharmed by gunshots last week.

God is good all of the time!

  • Making an Entrance

A quiet PAX with one notable tardy member assembled for a beastly workout in the early morning gloom.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Arm Circles – big and small
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • KB Beast in the bus loop (10 reps at each stop with a different way to carry the KB between stops)
      • Sit ‘n press with back carry
      • High pulls with right-handed overhead carry
      • Curls with left-handed overhead carry
      • Swings with death crawl
      • Sumo squat with around the worlds as we move
    • COT with YHC taking us out

White Deer was surprisingly quiet as the morning started.  That meant the PAX could hear Gypsy roll in at 5:31 am NASCAR-style.  Only appropriate for this Charlotte transplant to use his sports car to make such a noticable entrance after a night of “holiday cheer.”  Hard to talk smack on the PAX member that was posting 2x this morning with a post-KB running workout.  Enjoy that nap this afternoon Gypsy.

Solid work from the PAX today as the death crawls were reminiscent of the murder bunnies from Iron PAX.

The F3 10 year is now in October.  Start preparing your body for CUSAPs and your liver for fellowship.

God is good all of the time!

  • Perfect 10s

A wet evening turned to a gloriously gloomy December morning.  Six noble warriors agreed to tackle the morning with an enthusiasm unbeknownst to the common man.  Here is how it went down:

    • Parking lot tracers followed by a mosey to the turf field
    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • Dead man hang
      • Arm circles – big and small
      • Helicopters
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • 10 minutes of burpees at midfield
    • 40 APD
    • Captain Thor
    • Mosey to the pull-up bars for an 11 with pull-ups and step-ups in the Pavilion
    • Mosey back to the turf field for sprints
      • 8 full field sprints
      • 12 ½ field sprints
    • Mosey back to the parking lot for COT with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX today as we mixed some cardio with core work.  Great to have Quest back in the fold with the PAX today as he prepares for nuptial bliss.  YHC wanted to make sure he remains solid and sculpted for the big day.  Pinto sported to the Magnum PI look today for charity.  Good work brother!

Solid fellowship followed at Einstein’s.  Prayers continue to the Biggs family as they look to remain healthy following COVID exposure.

God is good all of the time!

  • Deck of Duty

Welcome to the cold!  Make sure your KBs were stored in the heart on the eve of Circus Maximus or your hands will be cold.  Today promised pace and no soccer arms.  Here is who it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • Russian soldiers
      • DQ
      • Arm Circles – big and small
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Deck of duty – each card is 12 reps, with the suite determining the exercise
      • Hearts – curls
      • Diamonds – high pulls
      • Clubs – Overhead/shoulder press
      • Spades – Sit ‘n press/Louganis
      • Joker – burpees
    • COT with YHC taking us

Solid work from the PAX.  Today required pace, and as Gypsy learned, a modest amount of weight.  Rolling out with Big Bertha will burn you our quick.  Hopefully Gypsy will learn going forward that this Q gravitates towards high reps in rapid fire.

Thanks for joining us Choppa!  Nice to bring down the average age. By the way, Byproduct, we know it is cold. You can still get out of the fart sack and join us.

God is good all of the time!

  • Honeydo Fart Sacks

It was a dry morning, but the dashboard temperature was deceiving.  A strong wind re-introduced the PAX to the wind chill factor.  Unaffected, 8 noble warriors surged forward at HBR.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • Dead man hangs
      • Arm circles – forwards/backwards, big/small
      • Helicopters
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Mosey to the parking lot for a burpee march – 1 burpee for each parking space followed by a chaser of 20 WWII sit-ups and 20 APDs (repeat 3x)
    • Curb crawl ladder – up to 6 merkins and then back down
    • AMRAP pull-ups x2 – PAX does reverse crunches and flutter kicks, then storm squats for the 2nd round
    • Mosey to the football field for a mini-Michigan
    • Mosey back to the parking lot with a Bernie up the slope
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work from the PAX today.  Great to have Choppa back in the fold from VMI.  Let it be registered that Honeydo started a text string on Monday evening requesting that the PAX stay dry at HBR.  Now go look at the PAX that posted, where is Honeydo?  Swallowed whole by the fart sack and a faulty man sack.  His presence was missed, as Handshake believes that he is not fully capable of posting in consecutive days.  Still odd that he was making pleas to the Q on the eve of this beat down, which were honored. An unfortunate casualty.  Here is to brighter days ahead for our comrade!  T-claps to those men who were able to overcome the fart sack and got ‘ur done this morning.

God is good all of the time!

  • Return of the AMRAP

A chilly morning greeted 3 warriors at Circus Maximus.  You vs. you vs. a KB.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • Dead man hangs
      • IW
      • Arm circles
      • Helicopters
      • Merkins
      • LBC
      • APD
    • Mosey to the bus loop for an AMRAP with 30-35 seconds of reps followed by 20, 15, 10 then 5 seconds of rest between exercises
      • Round 1
        • High pulls
        • Curls
        • Squats
        • Halos
        • High pulls
      • Run the bus loop
      • Round 2
        • Skull crushers
        • Sit ‘n presses
        • Hammers
        • Lawnmower pulls, each arm
    • COP with YHC taking us out

Good work by the PAX today.  Great to have White Deer back.  Prayers up for those missing due to injuries or high stress jobs.  Great start to a Thursday!

God is good all of the time!

  • Gridiron Gentlemen

A beautiful morning awaited 10 magnificent warriors on the Gridiron.  With 1 hour to burn, here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • Dead man hang
      • IW
      • Arm circles
      • Helicopters
      • Suzanne Somers
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • Mosey to the turf field to find out girls soccer warm-ups were in full force
    • Mosey to the pull-up bars for an 11 with pull-ups and step-ups at the Pavilion picnic tables
    • Mosey through the woods to the back of the school to the tennis courts for a lap of luxury
      • 3 rounds with 20 exercises at each diagonal corner, 10 burpees at the midpoint of the long portion of the rectangle and an arch loader movement through the short portions of the rectangle
      • Arch loader rounds – bear crawl, crab walk, cheetah sprint
      • Total reps
        • 60 burpees
        • 40 merkins
        • 40 HRM
        • 40 Carolina dry docks
        • 40 WWII sit-ups
        • 40 LBC
        • 40 flutter kicks
    • Mosey back to the parking lot for a ring of fire
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work from the PAX today.  Great to have Spit visit Gridiron, and to have our marathoners back in the fold.  210 merkin reps today for the November challenge, and the PAX were true gentlemen in letting the young girls warm-up on the turf soccer field.  Good to be with these men today for a modest beat-down. Plenty of arm work, so no complaints there.

There will be a Thanksgiving convergence at 6 am.  Please look for announcements on location.  YHC already forgot.

God is good all of the time!

  • The Forgotten BB

A light but eager crowd assembled for Circus Maximus this week.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Arm circles – 10 small/5 big; forwards and backwards
      • Helicopters
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • 3x check with double barrel KB carry, merkins and WWII sit-ups
    • Run the bus loop
    • Lindsay with overhead pulls and lawnmower pulls (each arm)
    • Run the bus loop
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Good work by the PAX today.  Limited political discussion, but plenty of mumble-chatter. Great to be with these KB gladiators.  Good luck to Blue Moon on the marathon this weekend, as well as Gypsy on his pacing work.

Now more than ever, God is good all of the time!

  • A Good Mattress Makes All The Difference

The lights on the bus loop seemed delayed, but they still came on at 5:30ish.  Like any Thursday at Circus Maximus, it was go-time.  A stellar PAX was ready to roll, and here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • SSH
      • IW
      • DQ
      • Arm circles – 10 small/5 big; forwards and backwards
      • Helicopters
      • Merkins
      • LBC
    • One man KB Dora – series of exercise, broken down into 5 segments of equal reps for each exercise with a run of the bus loop serving as a personal interlude
      • 100 sit ‘n presses
      • 150 overhead pulls
      • 200 lawnmower pulls
    • KB lunge walk back to the parking lot
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Bad backs dominated the mumble chatter today, and with it, a discussion about the value of a good (new) mattress.  The PAX unequivocally certifies that a good night’s rest is necessary.  YHC will let others decide if they want to validate Gomer Pyle’s experience of distancing himself from his bride.  It takes a savvy yet careful husband to execute his plan to expand to the king size bed after sleeping so well while he was away on the road.  T-claps for Gomer Pyle.  He navigated that obstacle course with skill.  White Deer might not have the same skillfulness as he said certain activities diminished when he got a new mattress in his older years.  Heartfelt condolences.

Good work by the PAX today.  High reps on the arms.  YHC needed that after the last week of infrequent workouts.

God is good all of the time!
