  • Solid Start to the Weekend

A beautiful, cool morning greeted 10 noble warriors at the Gridiron.  A full body beatdown awaited each man, and here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • 30 SSH
      • 15 IW
      • 10 DQ
      • Arm circles – 10 small, 5 big/front and back
      • Suzanne Somers – 20 each leg
      • 20 merkins
      • 60 LBC
    • Mosey to the turf field for a one-man Dora
      • 100 HRM
      • 200 squats
      • 300 LBC
    • Mosey to pull-up bars for a de-escalator

      • 6 50 yard runs
      • 6 20 yard crab walks
    • Circle up for a ring of fire
    • COP with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX today.  Solid pace for the full 60 minutes, with the added bonus of Splinter and Corn Beef joining the Gridiron PAX this morning.  YHC enjoyed the occasional Gridiron Q as it has been observed that it has become a harder Q to get with the PAX.  As always, the workout was followed by great fellowship at Einsteins afterward.  Value my time with these men!

Continued prayers for various guys, including for all of our kids in school, K through college.  Lots of transition, patience and grace needed as it is tough for all.

Don’t forget the shoe drive if you have any gently used shoes.

God is good all of the time!

  • Party of 5

A party of 5 from RVA’s west end assembled under the full moon to throw around some KBs under ideal temperatures this morning.  Here is how it went down:

      • 10 DQ
      • Arm circles – 10 small/5 big, each way
      • 15 helicopters
      • 22 merkins

      • Bear crawl to you KB
      • 10 lawnmower pulls each arm (15 on the 3rd round)

      • Sit ‘n press
      • Overhead pulls
      • Halos
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Good work by the PAX this morning.  White Deer continues to stone up and push through a bad knee.  Lighthouse is making child’s play of 35 pounds, and good to have Pinto and Byproduct back in the fold.  A solid party of 5 for 5x themed workout.

Prayers for healing and family needs in COT.  Grateful for those private requests.

Remember the annual retreat to Amelia Courthouse is this weekend.  Cornhole starts at 2 pm.  See Slack channel for more details.  Also, shoe drive for October.  Bring your gently used men’s shoes for donations.

God is good all of the time!

  • DaVille Returns

Our brothers from Daville had so much fun 2 weeks ago, they reappeared for more laughs and KBs at Circus Maximus.  Even with some regulars MIA, a solid PAX of 6 assembled in the gloom to tackle the morning.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • 25 SSH
      • 10 DQ
      • 15 IW
      • 15 arm circles, forward and backward, 10 small/5 big
      • 15 helicopters
      • 20 merkins
      • 80 LBC
      • 20 APD
    • Lucky bus loop – farmers carry to the four quadrants of the bus loop, perform 15 reps of a certain exercise, adding a new exercise for each quadrant, with a total of 8 at the end
      • Lawnmower pulls – each arm (8x)
      • Curls (7x)
      • Sit ‘n presses (6x)
      • KB swings (5x)
      • Squats (4x)
      • High pulls (3x)
      • Halos (2x)
      • American hammers (1x)
    • Finish with 15 overhead pulls
    • COT with YHC taking us

Great work by the PAX this morning.  The workout is deceptively difficult as the reps build.  Much of the mumble chatter between White Deer and Mudface cannot be printed for a larger audience, but needless to say it kept us laughing.  Great to have the Daville representation this morning.  YHC modified and removed the running portion of the Q when he saw what he was dealing with.

God is good all of the time!

God is good all of the time!

  • Covered in Grass

Perfect weather greeted the Gridiron PAX as we tuned up for the convergence on F3 RVA’s birthing soil come Monday.  Nine solid redwoods took to the field for a solid beat-down, and here is how it went down:

The PAX was covered in grass after the cumulative beast.  Solid work by all men, including Blue Moon and Gypsy who started the morning with a 7+ mile run.  Tater continues to outpace the PAX, and White Deer was missed.  His absence guaranteed some solid running work.

MONDAY 7 AM – Convergence at Gridiron.  Come visits the site of F3 RVAs first and finest AO.  Should be a great time of fitness and fellowship.  We will raise some money for Crossover Ministries as well as enjoy a solid home-cooked breakfast.  Please help Johnsonville with RSVPs so we can have enough food.  It will be top-notch.  See the pre-blast for more details, and see the RVA PAX Monday morning!

God is good all of the time!

Reminder of the family BBQ at Hardywood’s farm this weekend.  Check the pre-blasts for more detail.

Great work by the PAX.  The lunges left all of us with some soreness, but no pain, no gain.  Fireball from Houston was supposed to join us.  Hopefully he did not get thrown off by the other group meeting on the football field at Godwin.

God is good all of the time!
