  • It was cold but it wasn’t solo

5:27 and YHC was looking at an empty parking lot, then in the distance headlights turned in the direction of BWES. Pad Thai saves the day or at least saves YHC from taking a nap in the warmth of the F250 and calling it a Loungy Lounge.

YHC already had in mind to take the Q if nobody signed up so when Pad Thai started talking about Tabata type beatdown, YHC knew something had to be done.

Mosey to the covered front entrance for some streaches and stuff no cadence minimal counting and some conversation

Move to the bus loop for a partner type triple check, partner one run the loop partner 2 exercises

Mosey walk to the basketball court for four corners

Mosey to the other side of the court for another four corners

Mosey to the front entrance for another partner triple check

Mosey around to the basketball court for merkin suicides, 3 merkins added to each pickleball court

BTTF finish out the time with some abs and stuff

    Numbers / Names

NMS: It was good to have a lounge morning with no plan to get to know Pad Thai. YHC has gotten into a rut of knowing who I know and keeping up with them but not really investing the time into the newer to me guys that I see. We all should find a new person and ask them one or two questions that might lead to a bigger & deeper conversation.

  • Solo

YHC was Solo again while MOT had a nice sized group for a run

Merkins and American Hammers on the track

    BTTF

  • I see you!!!

YHC VS YHC this morning at SOT, it’s cold and YHC doesn’t feel like being here. Oh well, I’m here now so might as well get something done.

Mosey down to the track an do a 2 mile merkin walk. Walk each lane starting with the 6th and do 6 merkins at the ends and sides. Lane 5 do 5 merkins, Lane 4 do 4 merkins so on and so forth. Once you complete lane 1 start going back up (YHC started the way back up in lane 3). In total 8 laps

Mosey up the stairs and around the front of the school u-turn BTTF but do 10 merkins at each door on the way back.

NMS: Apparently YHC was very interesting to watch during this beatdown. At the far end of the track a cat stood or crouched watching me every time I came around that end of the track. YHC had a good rolling conversation with him every time I passed. He or she did not feel safe enough to come out and great me but I unloaded all the cares of the world on her and she listened attentively every time I passed.

  • I’m not the Alpha, Google me!

5 regulars and an FNG that EH’ed himself made their way through the Gloom on a wet post rain morning. Pigskin was feeling under the weather and offered up the Q which YHC picked up.

NMS: Welcome to Beta who much like the rest of us is not the Alpha of the family unit and said he was fat shamed into the open arms of F3. It’s funny because when you meet Beta, he’s not fat.

  • Ice on the track

YHC was solo at Midlo Middle this morning once the runners headed out.

Mosey down to the track for a COP

Heard the crunch crunch in the Gloom of someone walking on the track and figured there must still be some snow on it.

Decided to Keep It Stupid Simple and walk the track while doing exercises a the halfs and ends. Started with 10 Ball dippers but once YHC got to the far side of the track it wash a sheet of ice so the decision was made to turn around in lane 2 and do 20 Merkins at each stop on the way back. Repeto for each lane. Lane 3 – 30 LBC’s, lane 4 – 40 American Hammers, lane 5 – 50 Squats and lane 6 – 60 SSH’s

Add in one more trip to the far end and Lung walk back to the stairs

BTTF Numbers / Names Wedding Singer took us out

NMS: Spent a little time thinking of new workout I’m going to call the Carabine Titty Twister but didn’t want to launch it on a solo beatdown so YHC will continue to refine it and save it for a day with >3 PAX.

  • Leaving no tracks

3 bootcamp types found their ways to the snow / ice covered lot of SOT. 2 for MOT but that’s a different BB.

As each car / truck pulls into the lot and does not leave tracks through the ground cover you know its going to be an interesting AO

With sooooooo many opportunities to get injured this morning we decided a walking workout was the best option. The 3 amigos walked around the school twice doing various exercises at differing counts whenever we felt like stopping. Wherever there was a dry spot found an ab exercise or a plank type exercise was called by whoever had an idea other than that lots of squats ball dippers and the like.

If we stopped for too long Hermie would let one rip guaranteeing our immediate need to move again.

BTTF Numbers / Names Hermie took us out

NMS: When the weight of the F250 doesn’t leave tracks in a snow covered parking lot you know its cold outside. With the way the lot was looking this morning and judging by the look of the back roads we agreed that there probably wouldn’t be any in person school for the rest of this week.

Starbucks with the 2 runners afterwards

  • Blasting Doozy music!!!

As YHC arrived at NO Toll (5:10) to put out todays beatdown paraphernalia, Tin Man was already on the scene getting after it with some laps around the field. YHC put a bucket of goodies out under the Gazebo and made his way back to the truck to see who else would arrive. L-Woods snuck onto the playground to get 5 pull ups in for todays penance. 5:26 time to get after it and see who else has ventured out in the ice and snow.

5 Iron Men gathered at the flag when all was said and done.

Indigenous people walk (parking lot was super icy) with the home made medicine ball. Person in the back does 5 Squats, hands the ball to the next guy and runs (shuffles) to the front.

At the gazebo we do some stretches, LBCs and Merkins

Move over to find the burpee bucket – Keep it simple, rotating 3 exercises (Squats, Ball Dippers, SSH) PAX moves together hitting corner 1 back to the bucket for 5 burpees. Run to the center of the field back to the burpee bucket so on and so forth. Ice on top of the snow but it was really interesting how most of the time you didn’t break through it and how it wasn’t slippery.

Doozy music was playing from the bucket as the beatings continued

Grab the bucket and the ball and indigenous people walk back to the flag with 5 squats in the back run to the front and grab the bucket.

Lots of time left, leave the ball at the truck. Take the bucket because the music is good.

Four corners on the basketball court. 10 Merkins, 10 Plank Jack, 10 American Hammers, 10 LBCs. Machismo points out how this is probably the least slick the basketball courts have ever been.

    Repeto 20

Repeto 30 (with a break at 15 Merkins)

Repeto 40 (with a break at 20 Merkins)

BTTF Numbers / Names Machismo took us out

NMS: YHC had 2 plans for the day, if less than 3 others showed up the beatdown would have been 100% made up on the fly. More than 3 others and we would follow through with the main plan. YHC had planned it this way because there were glow sticks to go along with it and less than 4 HIM seemed like a waist of the sticks. With 5 HIM it was going to happen. However once under the gazebo and looking out onto the snow covered fields we could see everything and the decision was made to save the sticks for another time.

  • Loungy stuff in the cold

20 stupid degrees or 70 and sunny as we like to call it.

6 bundled up warriors gathered for another addition of the lounge, even Rosie wore his ear warming head band

Mosey to the turn around for COP – Jazzersize in honor of Nancy Lopez hitting 1,000 posts, lots of stretching in conversation (OYO) and some Merkins, Ukrainian Soldiers

Mosey to the playground for a triple check – Partner 1, pull ups, Partner 2, Merkins, Partner 3 run across the field and back.

Mosey to the old basketball court to check out the newly painted Pickle Ball courts, have a discussion on how you can’t hide money. Four corners – Ball Dippers, Jump Squats, WWIIs, American Hammers

Partner up – Three Pickle Ball courts and 6 Pax. Each group go to their own court. Catch me if you can, Partner 1 – Bear crawl, Partner 2 – Jump squats do this for 1 lap. Lap 2 – Crab Walk and ?, Lap 3 – Lung and Merkins

Mosey to the bus loop – Triple check Partner 1 wall sits, Partner 2, Merkins of choice and Partner 3 – Run the loop

Mosey to the front of the school – Triple check Partner 1, Dirty Hookups, Partner 2, Hoe Downs and Partner 3 – 20 SSH Ran out of time

    BTTF

    NMS: YHC HATES the cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pain with Purple Rain

YHC had no real plan for the morning because I thought I would be solo but then a different car appears from out of the Gloom and Purple Rain emerges.

Mosey to door 1 for COP, while trying to remember the name of an exercise (Imperial Walkers) YHC decided the doors was always a crowd pleaser

Starting at door 1 we alternated LBC’s and American Hammers by door 33 we had abs of steel so it was decided that what goes up must come down so reverso 33 to 1 with Squats and single count lunges. At door 20 on the way up we did 40 because of the A and B doors (IYKYK) and on the way down we did 20 Merkins and 20 LBCs.

We made it back to door 8 but ran out of time and had to head BTTF

Numbers / Names Purple Rain took us out

NMS: That was harder than it looked, my abs are screaming. Thanks Purple Rain for joining YHC this morning, that probably wouldn’t have gotten done if you were not there.

  • Running was a happy accident

7 Bootcampers and 1 runner hit the Timberwolf launch pad this warm winter morning. Warby wanted to do his favorite Forrest Gump impression so he split and made his way to the track to see how fast he could run on the flats.

    Mosey to the parking lot:

COP the usual stretches and things to help Kickstart the heart

Mosey to the side hill for some 11’s. At the bottom 10 Ball Dippers (each side), Bernie to the top for 1 Deep Squat. Rinse and repeat.

Mosey through the bus lot to light pole alley: Run to the first light do one merkin and run back, run to the second light do two WWII’s on the way back do one merkin. Everytime out to the next pole hit all the spots on the way back. 9 lights total, that’s a lot of running.

Mosey walk to about the basketball courts and do walking lunges.

Mosey to the back side wall for a quick triple check

Partner 1 does wall sits, Partner 2 does donkey kicks, Partner 3 runs around the island.

BTTF just for fun 5 burpees OYO

Numbers / Names Rudy took us out

NMS: YHC really didn’t intend to do a lot of running today but when you only have half of a plan for your Q, you show your true colors.
