  • Hitting all the corners

    YHC arrived at the Forge to find a Red Fox mulling around the AO but quickly darting off into the woods once the headlights of the truck came into view. 10 others soon started filling in the parking spaces to bring us to 11 total. According to the owl here is how things went from there.

    Congratulations to Morocco for beating Spain in a shootout win in Soccer yesterday. Spain was expected to be one of the ones that could have won the World Cup and Morocco was not even considered. YHC had threatened to do Moroccan Nightclubs for the entire beatdown but knew that was not going to be possible, there where some to be had during the run portion of the beating. Thanks to OC and Oyster for providing the David Goggins commentary mid way through the suck to get us through it.

  • Getting HP ready for his first half Marathon

    5 bootcampers and 1 rucker made it to R&R for some wet and wonderful fresh air according to the squirrels this is what happened.

    How much further is it to the end of this trial? We’ve been running a while and HP had an unexpected run with Rosie yesterday. If we keep this up we will have to sign HP up for the Richmond Half next November.

    NMS: Most definitely YHC did not plan to do so much running today. YHC thought the loop was a loop within the larger trail but we ended up putting in a lot of miles for sure. My apologies to House Party who was the only not so usual runner in the group.

  • These 21’s are on point, even Heist!!

    32 and dark is the new 70 and sunny for 7 of the southsides finest. According to the trash man (who was about 30 minutes ahead of schedule) this is what happened

We did 20 WWII, 30 LBC’s, 40 Plank Jacks, 50 (run around the islands), 40 Mountain Climbers, 30 American Hammers, 20 Schrunchy Frogs

    We all know that when the Q calls for 21’s, its expected that we will be doing an exercise regardless whether we end on time or not but I must say this morning was the closest I have seen everyone end at the same time almost every set. YHC ended one set ahead of schedule but the rest of the PAX held it pretty tight, even Heist.

    YHC had taken some time off from posting while in SC for Thanksgiving, only posting once over a 5 day span (convergence in Fort Mill, SC with 80+ PAX), it was good to get back after it today. It was good to see a handful of guys that YHC hasn’t seen in a while. The PAX will continue to wait for the arrival of the latest Faceplant addition.

  • I thought River Run was no longer an AO

    5 very cold human ice cycles needed a way to warm the core temperature this morning.

    Mosey to the bottom of the hill and partner up YHC was the shadow for Oyster Partner 1 does exercise while partner 2 runs up the hill and back. WWII’s, Sugar Sticks, Squats

    Mosey to the top of the main hill, PAX does exercise that is called while each HIM takes a turn running down then up the hill.

    NMS: The overall plan did not go as planned this morning but it kept us moving. YHC had planned to use both the hills together but then realized that they where not as close together as YHC remembered. YHC’s plan was to do a little more cardio this morning but it ended up being a little more than planned.

  • Beach body prep starts now

    6 regulars and 1 FNG gathered for a chilly start to the day at R&R and at 7:00 YHC had to start moving before my feet stuck to the cold ground.

    Mosey to the large circle that goes around the park for an increasing / decreasing jog around. First stop 20 WWII’s, second stop 20 WWII’s – 30 American Hammers, third stop 20 WWII’s – 30 American Hammers – 40 Jump Squats, fourth stop 50 SSH’s then back down starting with SSH’s and at each stop drop off each exercise until the last stop is only the 20 WWII’s

    Mosey to the concession stand for what Ponch named the dip, dip row boat. PAX sits in a line on the ground with the last person doing dips on the bench while everyone else rows the boat on both sides, timer is the guy in the boat gets out and runs to the stop sign and back. Runner replaces the dipper and everyone in the boat moves forwards.

    Welcome aboard to our new FNG, Shank. Posh and Shank have committed to starting a new OA in Petersburg to start after the new year 1/2/23 on Tuesdays, YHC will be making the trip south for a couple month to help get this new AO off the ground. Posh will be the Site Q for this new AO (meeting place TBD) stay tuned for F3’s growth south of southside.

  • Getting ready for Holiday travel

    7 Holiday travelers decided to get out and hit the road just to get prepared for the next couple months and all the windshield time they may have.

    Numbers / Names YHC took us out with and example from a Podcast I listened to the other day about putting down the weight that you are carrying.

    NMS:

    YHC is old and does not have the best memory. The hardest thing for YHC to do is remember names and Scripture. As an attempt to put Scripture with the example this morning (without actually looking up the Scripture) YHC wanted to recall the Verse where Jesus talks about his burden being light which is Matthew 11. YHC’s brain kept saying Proverbs 119, which Jesus couldn’t have said because Proverbs came from the Old Testament. YHC did memorize Proverbs 119 at one time but its about keeping your way pure. In the end YHC’s point being that you have a lot of brothers out there in the Gloom that have been or are going through what your going through, don’t carry that burden all by yourself.
