  • At least it wasn’t solo

    Thanks to Nancy Lopez YHC was not the only one at SOT or MOT (MOT was a NO for today)

    Mosey to the track for COP

    Some stretches, Imperial walkers, LBC’s and other stuff

    YHC had a plan if there were a hand full of PAX today but with Just Nancy and I, YHC decided to modify it. I had done a solo work out a few weeks ago walking the track and doing exercises at the straights and ends (number of lane you’re in) but somehow it seemed harder the last time so Nancy and I decided to mosey the track instead of walk. The exercises where Merkins, WWII’s, Squats and SSH’s

    Mosey walk through the trail and then for real mosey once we hit the concrete path to the bottom of MT Midlo

    At the middle of Mt Midlo start a modified 11’s

    10 Merkins and 1 WWII run to the top 9 Merkins and 2 WWII’s so on and so forth.

    NMS: Nancy is an OSU fan and ***I am not*** but I did admit while as a Michigan and Indiana fan I am forever forbidden by law to root for the school that we shall not speak its name, I will not be rooting against them tonight. I would like to see a rematch of the Big 10 Championship because it was a hard fought game for both teams.

    Like 2025 this beatdown was less than epic but it did allow for catching up with a friend that I am very grateful to have. Thank you Nancy for helping me kick 2025 out the door, may God bless 2026 in a real and Epic way.

  • Slow Roller Coaster

    With just Singer and YHC on the (still in town list) of runners that frequent RR, YHC pre-fired a text with a route that is loved by all. River Downs South up the big hill, loop around the back towards Gumbos old house but turn right early and BTTF. 4.40 by the Garman, Singer turned BTTF at 2 miles which probably gave him 4 +/-

    NMS: There was a day not too long ago that YHC might have been able to catch Singer coming BTTF near JRHS but not having run in a while has taken its toll.

  • I was told there would be coffee!!!!!

    4 Regulars, 1 second post and an FNG but NO Last Call which at Twin Team means no coffee.

    5:30 its wet outside but not raining mosey, mosey, mosey to the side cover at JRHS for the COP. PAX was taken here to stay dry but Orange Crush said that was sissy or something like that.

    First event, partner up for a touch a light post. Partner 1 runs to 2 light post while partner 2 does dips, second round is 2 different lights and Incline merkins, third round is 2 different lights and step ups

    To this point still very loungey mosey to the JRHS track

    Four corners on the track first lap is abs – 20 at each stop Scrunchy frogs, American Hammers, LBC’s and something else. Second lap legs – Squats, Walking Lunges, Ball Dippers and Calf Raises. Third Lap Arms/Chest – Merkins, Wide Grip Merkins, Shoulder Taps And Chuck Norris (10) with Diamond (10)

    NMS: Welcome back to Rousey for his second post and welcome to Dig Dug who came with Rousey. Don’t let the name fool you Dig Dug is a mine engineer and not as old as his namesake although he did say he played Dig Dug one time at his Grandmothers house.

  • Morning Burpee Walk

    Solo beatdown this morning at SOT, the runners went their way and YHC was left with a decision. Get in the truck and go get coffee / donuts or do some for of workout.

    Mosey to the track while I think about that. COP, DQ’s, Helicopters, Ukrainian Soldiers, LBC’s, Crunch twists along with some stretches.

    Start on the track with a walk in lane 6, 6 Burpees at the halfway point, 6 Burpees at the far end, 6 burpees at the half way point and 6 more burpees at the close end. Repeto and the number of burpees is the lane you’re in. Basically descending burpees at the same spots each lap.

    NMS: Lots of inner thought and reflection time this morning . YHC will not be in Richmond next week so hopefully someone will pick up the Q.

  • What kind of Merkin is that

    YHC, Dumar and Hermie wanted to learn a new Merkin so we met at SOT to get it figured out

    Mosey to the bus lot for all the usuals, YHC saw this on FB reel so it was worth trying

    Plank to merkin, touch the shoulders, Merkin touch the chest (both sides), Merkin touch each knee, Merking touch each foot, Merkin jump up thats one X 10. More of this to come, there is a Mike Tyson in there also (YHC will get it dialed in).

    Mosey to the sidewalk triple check, Mosey to the front of the school another triple check, mosey to the back of the building for 2 more triple checks then BTTF for some stretching

  • Difference of opinion

    3 grown A$$ HIM showed up to see if Doozy really could figure out how to download a Tabata Timer App onto his Iphone. Like that we start with a 5 minute warm up, timer has everything scheduled where all YHC had to do was call the exercises. First lap was set to 2:30 and a request was made to get a little more time on the next lap. YHC was able to adjust the lap time to 3:00 but that going to shorten the overall time. The last lap was a once around, numbers/ names and Applesauce took us out.

    NMS: @applesauce is a fan of the loosing team from this weekend and was able to provide all the reasons why they might have lost to the Hoosiers this Saturday. 🤷‍♂️

  • This ain’t the Lounge

    5 Bootcamp junkies and 3 runners hit the mean streets of Midlothian to see if the last beatdown before the holiday would be a bit more Lounge like than a normal SOT. Despite how hard Orange Crush tried to push the issue YHC had a loose plan and shear determination to shave off some access calories before they get added back on tomorrow.

    Mosey to the front of the school, various stretches and the usual DQ’s and Helicopter warm up. Through in a new curve ball with what I call Weeble Wobble Merkins, a merkin in a 4 count where the first down is to the right and the second down (third count) is to the left.

    Mosey back one door for a partner type triple check, the exercises where dips, incline merkins and decline merkins

    Mosey back to the main parking lot for some lunges. What happens when you have a wide open parking lot? Parking lot merkins of coarse, it was about here when OC realized this was not going to be a lounge like ordeal.

    Mosey to the hill, team partner hill repeats. First man up calls an exercise PAX does the exercise while the first man runs to the bottom of the hill and back repeto until entire team has gone. Each HIM calls an exercise for his team to do while he’s running.

    Mosey the back way to the school, to the track for a 4 corners circle style. 10 merkins at the 50, 20 WWIIs at the far end, 30 Jump squats at the opposite 50, (20 LT Dans, 20 squats)

    NMS: Lots of good conversation and stories about Thanksgiving and what plans everyone has. Talk of kids that are home and kids that will be going away to school soon.

  • 3 dudes, 0 plans

    YHC made it to BWES with no plan to find Bullseye and coming in hot was Singer. None of us had any real plan of where to run but Singer suggested we move in one direction and the road would open up to ideas.

    Terrington turn left at the first street out and back, right to the park hit the extra parking lot, out to JRHS to the end of the road and back to BWES.

    4 miles on the nose and as flat as we could make it

    NMS: YHC thinks the three of us have found every way to run a minimum of 4 miles and find almost no hills in an area known for its hills.

  • Lets use the track

    YHC had another solo beatdown once the runners left. Why not use the track and the cover next to the building to stay dry?

    Circle of 1 with some warm ups

    On the track around the 50 yard line 10 incline merkins on the bench, at the top of the track 20 squats, at the opposite side near the 50 dips and then at the bottom of the track near the building WWII repeto 3 times with various same exercises

    on the back side of the building using the hill, three times up and down with an exercise at the bottom

    on to the home side of the track 11’s on the steps and Wedding Singer joins me

    NMS: Watch out for the senior bus driver that will run you over in his car to get to that bathroom at the bottom of the hill

  • It sounded fun in my head

    SOT is back or at least YHC is trying to will it back to life. As the first back open SOT YHC thought it would be good to do the doors.

    5:30 and the runners are off so YHC Mosey’s to door #1 for a quick warm up.

    17-20A Squats and WWIIs – 20B Mekins

    21-33 Squats and WWIIs

    BTTF – stretches and V-ups

    NMS: A good beatdown is never as good when you don’t have people to share in the misery. Hopefully word will get out about SOT being back in business and this once great AO will be great again.
