  • A very F3 Birthday

11 men met in a dark, cold, semi-wet parking lot on YHC’s birthday. YHC’s clock showed him as being 31 seconds to the workout, but YHC guesses others aren’t on Apple Standard Time.

Quick Mosey to catch up with the Pax and circle back from a COP. COP consisted of various exercises then sets of 5 Burpees to make our way to 42 to represent YHC’s age (with a bonus Burpees for the start of YHC’s 43rd year).

Mosey to the Third Church Parking lot by Bodo’s office to grab the Cinderblocks. Get in groups of 2. P1 does an exercise and P2 runs the lot, this happens 6-7 times. Switch to P1 doing an exercise and P2 Squats, do this another 4-5 times. Put blocks away and do some Mary (Flutters, WWII’s, LBC’s).

Mosey back to Hoedown lot, 20 HRM’s, times up.

Announcements – Breaking Bread. Gumbo and Splinter too this Saturday/Sunday, but next month is open.

NMS – F3 Birthdays are unlike another other. They start with advance thought to sign up to Q. Then you post on Slack to hype your own Q. The morning of rather than enjoy some extra sleep on your special day you wake up uncomfortably early to lead a bunch of grown men in a workout. Lastly once this is all complete you then have to write about it on the internet. That all being said we love them. Thanks to everyone for making it out to celebrate 42 years on this earth. YHC is thankful for these men.

  • A Triangle has 3 sides

YHC doesn’t know of another time the Frozen Triangle has ever been rescheduled. It is ironic that something that has the name “Frozen” was rescheduled because of actual frozen conditions.

First off, what is The Frozen Triangle? Well it consists of 3 things: 20 minute Bootcamp at Dogpile, 3.4 Mile Run to Punisher, 20 minute Boot at Punisher, 2.9 Mile Run to 45MOM, 20 minutes Bootcamp at 45MOM, then 2.4 mile run to Dogpile to finish. Roughly 9 miles and 60 minutes of Bootcamp.

Before YHC starts, happy 10 years to Bodo’s! You are always ready to jump into anything that comes your way. To quote the reverend from The Patriot “A shepherd must tend to his flock. And at times fight off the wolves…” Whether it’s a duel on the Pickelball court, or taking an Ultimate Frisbee game too seriously we are glad to have you as part of our group.

YHC only completed one leg of the Triangle (45MOM Bootcamp and run to Dogpile) so YHC is missing the full details of what transpired before then.

Dogpile – Bodo’s Anniversary Q. Not sure exactly what happened, but it was likely epic and entertaining. Then mosey to Punisher.

Punisher – Gumbo Q. Also not sure exactly what happened, but rumor has that it was a tour of the campus while finding new and fun options. Then mosey to 45MOM.

45MOM – Gypsy Q. Gypsy raided the Community Garden for Pavers/Edging Stones. Various exercises without any running: Block/Kettlebell Pass, Jack Webbs, then Wack Jebbs. Then mosey to Dogpile to finish.

There was also a rucking contingent with House Party, Choo Choo, and Commando.

NMS – T-claps to the guys that did the full Triangle, that is a tough CSAUP and there were a few first timers.

Announcements – L Woods is involved in a Food Drive, please see Slack. Gypsy encouraged men to join a F3 Shield Lock, as well as to reach out to guys you haven’t heard from in a while.

YHC is proud of the Pax that participated in The Frozen Triangle, especially those who were able to complete the whole thing. Special thanks to the guys involved in planning and to Corned Beef for running the Chuckwagon with snacks and water.

  • There’s no dozen better than a Baker’s Dozen

13 men at Heart Break Ridge. Clear Parking Lot.

We borrowed Honeydo’s 5 Cinderblocks from the back of his Truck but poor Honeydo only left with 4 (whole) Cinderblocks.

    4 Groups (3 with 3 men and 1 with 4 men).

4 groups of Triple Checks with 1 round of 13 Burpees.

Announcements – Frozen Triangle this Saturday starting at Dogpile at 0600. 2nd Tuesday 2nd F next Tuesday 2/10 at noon at Firehouse Subs – Innsbrook

Prayer Requests – Salt Lick saw the Monks while they were on their journey. He thought the Walk for Peace was for world peace only but was also for internal peace.

NMS – glad to see 13 at Hearbreak after last weeks reduced snow numbers.

  • Greatest. Dogpile. Ever. There’s never been a better one…

7 men met in a cold dark park to exercise their body and spirits this AM.

Mosey down to the Tollbooth for COP, various exercises.

Mosey to the Bridge for a Light Pole Beatdown. Going south at every Pole do (5) HRM’s and (10) WWII’s. Going north on the Bridge do (1) Squats

Mosey down to hill to the Pump House and do 50 solo Dips, get a partner and Partner holds legs and do (10) Merkins and (20) Dips.

Mosey across the road and do Rock Parkour.

Start making our way up the hill completing 50 of various exercises and then either Moseying between Lightpoles by running or Bernie.

Mosey from the bottom of Triangle back to the Flag stopping at both Circles.

Two Minutes of Mary to finish.

Announcements – Pigskin has The Bridge on 1/24. Frozen Triangle Feb 7th at Dogpile starting at 0600. Breaking Break needs a Q next Saturday 1/24.

    Prayer Requests – none

NMS – Good times at Dogpile. It was nice to have Applesauce and Blankspace back out. Also nice to see Helix and Wojo two weeks in a row. We were missing some key players with Oyster, EF Hutton, and Upchuck being out but we made due.

  • Heartbreak, no longer Ridged for your pleasure

17, that’s right, 17 for a Tuesday morning working at a Middle School in the suburbs.

0530 we slaughter start with 20 WWII’s (sorry Saltlick) then we start our Mosey. While making our way across the parking lot Fudd decides to make his way in. We mosey over to the grass at the end of Quioccasin/Pemberton and start our COP. Next we see the Gomer Mobile flying into the Parking Lot.

Mosey around the Retention Pond to the Pemberton Parking lot and get in groups of 3 for a Triple Check. P1 runs to the back of the Parking Lot and back, P2 does HRMs, P3 does WWII’s.

After TC1 we do a quick Rim Jog around the Retention Pond.

TC2, The Stranger way. This time we mosey the opposite direction to the wall of the school and back. P1 runs, P2 LBC’s, P3 Carolina Dry Docks.

Rim Jog #2 but the opposite direction.

Mosey past the Tomatoes and over to the Playground Monkey Bars at Pemberton Elementary. TC # 3, this time we do 6 rounds. P1 does 5 Pull Ups, P2 Jump Squats, P3 Dips

Mosey back to Quioccasin and stop at the Benches in front of the school and do 20 Bench Kicks and 10 Derkins.

Prayer Requests – Blackouts neighbor who is in Hospice. Chippendale lost his Dad a couple weeks back.

NMS – Glad to be able to get on the Q sheet today. Awesome having such a big group of guys at Heartbreak.

  • Friday in Westhoe that’s not Currahee

As YHC writes this backblast he ponders on the fact that we now have a Trifecta of AO’s in WestHoe that were founded by men that no longer attend these AO’s. Two of which happened almost immediately and one that did attend for years.

Anyways, back to the Backblast. A “merry” bunch of men for the Members Only Tunnel Vision. YHC has always been once and did a poor job using Google Earth to scout the AO. YHC tried something new that immediately got grumbles for the “respect” Pax, to be fair, even if they liked it they would have grumbled.

We did stuff, it lasted 45 minutes, and then there was Coffee at Starbucks afterwards and YHC learned all about there Software world.

Announcements – Pigskin is leading the Bridge Jan 24th. 2nd F at Joeys Hot Dogs next Wednesday at noon. Frozen Triangle Feb 7th starting at Dogpile at 0600.

    Prayer Requests – None

NMS – thanks for letting me Q.

  • Empty Void at WDog

A group of me, myself, and I met to get some work done in a cold and dark park.

Mosey over to the first circle to do a COP. SSH’s, Merkins, LBC’s, Squats, Hairy Rockettes, Helicopters, etc.

Mosey down to the bottom of the Amphitheater and complete 5 Incline Merkins and 5 Crunchy Frogs on each step. About 5-6 steps up out of nowhere an all-black Dog (maybe a Lab?) runs into the back of the Theater and down to the Concrete bottom and starts barking and growling at me, this was where YHC thought I was either going to meet Jesus or murder a dog. Luckily a few seconds later his owner whistled and the turned and left. YHC continued his way up, luckily the adrenaline provided extra motivation.

Finish and mosey over to Carillon. Run up the right steps of the Carillon and run around the back and down, complete 10 times.

Go to the base of the Carillon and complete 30 HRM’s, 30 WWII’s, 30 Carolina Dry Docks, 30 2-Count Flutters, 30 Merkins, 30 Alabama Prom Dates. Midway through a Police Officer rolls up to the Circle and stops and shines his searchlight on YHC while doing Prom Dates. YHC’s thighs likely looked extremely creamy and white with bring light.

Mosey back to the Flag and complete various other exercises. 2 minutes left so YHC ran over to the Porta John by the Dogpark and back.

Announcements – New Years Day Convergence tomorrow morning at 0700.

Prayer Requests – Continued Prayers for Charlotte, Wildcat, Fireman Ed (hallelujah), Fudd’s Sister, and unknown others.

NMS – Me, Myself, and I had a good time in the park this morning. We completed a lot more exercises than we thought we’d do when there was no other Pax in sight

  • Quiet morning in Rountrey

8 men met in a neighborhood pool parking lot to see what “Jabroni” had in store for The Alamo crew and this is what transpired.

Mosey back and forth in the Parking Lot and complete a COP.

Mosey back to the Parking Lot entrance and complete a 6 Mailboxes forward, 1 back and then complete 15 of an exercise and 10 of another exercise. Various exercises (SSH’s, LBC’s, Merkins, HMR’s, Squats, Imperial Walkers, WWI’s, WWII’s, H2H’s, Pole Smokers, Carolina Dry Docks, Derkins, etc.).

We moseyed left on Graythrone, right on Litton, left on Endstone. We took a detour onto the trail by the lake and went up the trail and then back and then completed our journey down on Endstone Trail, left on Port Savage, then right on Rankin to finish our loop.

Announcements – Breaking Bread is open the end of January (the last Saturday and Sunday of the month). New Years Day Convergence Thursday 1/1 at Dogpile at 0700.

Prayer Requests – continued prayers for Wildcat and Charlotte (my M’s Cousins Daughter). Wildcat is headed to Fairfax on January 6th and then begins a new regimen on January 13th. Charlotte was in Cleveland at the Cleveland Clinic the other week, but she’s back home now.

NMS – very quiet Pax this morning. Other than diligent counting during the COP the Mumble Chatter was minimal until we turned onto the Walking Path the chatter started to come to life. Wildcat was sharting the entire time, prayers for his Skivvy’s.

It’s been a while since YHC has been to The Alamo. YHC was glad to see an empty Q sheet on Sunday evening. Thanks for having me out.

PS – Happy Birthday to Matlock

  • Where oh where did our little Hitch go?

0600 and 7 second YHC hops out of the car to 4 waiting Pax members and we start out on a journey reminiscent of the recent Upchuck non-sensical Q. We stop on the opposite side of the Boulevard to do a COP because Oyster said “if Hitchhiker shows up late he’s never going to find us” a few minutes later (0605?) a lone headlight comes in to the parking lot, it was Hitch.

We continue our COP and apparently Hitch made a bee-line for the Carillon because new never saw him. We moseyed back over the warm up Circle and hollered his name but we quickly gave up and continued back on our original journey.

We moseyed and every 1/4 mile we stopped and did 10/20/30 of various exercises. We saw roughly 20+ Deer on our journey and covered 3 miles. Hitchhiker was found wandering with 8 minutes left.

Announcements – Breaking Break is open for January, New Years Day Convergence at Dogpile at 0700

    Prayer Requests – none

NMS – fun morning covering some rare territory, glad to not be alone

  • Pervert in the Bushes

A well rounded 12 men met for this weeks Season of Giving Handshake Q.

Warm up at the small park to allow Fudd to arrive and get settled in. COP. Quick count off (more on this later).

Mosey over to the top of Gaymont and partner up. P1 runs down the hill and back, P2 does an exercise. Running down the hill with your partner after both of run. Keep this up for a while. Down Gaymont, left of Rose Hill until we reached Ralston.

At Ralston we keep forward progression. We stopped around Kubotas house and did squats and ran up the driveway, down the sidewalk, up and over the porch, then through the grass.

Keep moseying up Ralston and stop at Finkles house for a 20 HRM’s and 10 Merkins.

Mosey up to River and down River almost to Gaymont and stop at the pull off and do 36 Squats.

Mosey back to the Parking Lot and get with your partner and do 20 single count Boo-yeah Merkins, 20 single count Boo-yeah WWII’s, 20 Boo-yeah Jump Squats.

    1 minute of stretching.

Announcements – Kubota is leading The Bridge on 12/27. Festivus tomorrow at Circus. There will be a Kettlebell Workout next Thursday on Christmas morning at Circus.

NMS – fun morning that wasn’t nearly as cold as it has been. Glad to see Wojo out in the fold. Atilla will be on Channel 12 news tonight for urinating on someone’s bush. Senor Frog was the random number I thought of before the workout and he was the real prize for this weeks Season of Giving.
