    NMS:

Nice morning for another traveling bootcamp. Bacon Bits got a nice little workout in and is healing up. A little oversharing on the mosey down S. Ridge by Handshake about his vaccine shot he got at Wal-Mart. It felt like we were playing a game of keep away from Bacon Bits for most of the workout and then we had to play a game of catch Bacon Bits if you can on the way back up. Coffeteria at Starbucks afterward consisted of talk about BRR and the economy. Thanks for going for coffee, UPC, EFH and LJ!

    Have a great day all!

    NMS:

Nice 32 degree morning had the field nice and crunchy especially for the crunchy frogs. YHC wanted to incorporate the field hockey goals into the workout to be used for pull-ups, but they were turned around and unable to be used. Probably a good thing, because I’m sure they were slick with ice. Not much oversharing this morning. Handshake seemed to have a low-key birthday yesterday. Toothbrushes were not an issue last night. The real winner on his birthday was his kid dropping his first poop in the potty (this was shared on Facebook evidently).

Nice work done by all this morning. This PAX continues to amaze and keep First Watch going strong. 10 seems to be the new average number to beat. Everyone have a great day!

  • Don’t be a Grinch!

    Don’t be a Grinch!

7 strong hit the earliest, darkest and toughest Wednesday Running/Kettlebell Snatching/Kayak Rowing/Saab’s Driveway Molesting/Over-Sharing Bootcamp in the region. Here is what went down on the morning of Christmas Eve Eve.

Mosey a little ways further to YHC’s house and grab two coupons from the ditch. Complete some Crunchy Frogs with coupons

Keep coupons and mosey down to Keymaster’s house and partner up for a DORA. 100 x Merkins(with coupons), 200 x American Hammers(with coupons), 300 x Squats(with coupons). Partner Bernie Sanders'(with coupons) up the Ralston hill and run back down to switch.

No over-sharing this morning from the group, just hard work and determination. Well done!

    Merry Christmas, all!!

  • Masks Required on Campus!

    Masks Required on Campus!

Seven strong attended and conquered the latest edition of First Watch. Chilly temps awaited the PAX, but it didn’t take long to warm up into a nice sweat.

Hot Potato Q was the call and EF Hutton started us out with:

Mosey east on River Rd and stop at Saab’s driveway for Deadman Hang x 15

Continue down River and bust through the hedges onto the UR practice field. Circle up for:

    COP:

    DQ’s, Copperhead Squats, Jazzercizes, SSH’s, Freddy Mercury’s, Hand-Release Merkins

    Stay circled up for:

    Hutton Humpers:

    1 x Jump Squat/4 x Monkey Humpers

    2/8, 3/12, 4/16, 5/20

    12 Merkins in cadence

    6/24, 7/28, 8/32

    5 Burpees OYO

    9/36, 10/40

Mosey over to the shot put/discus circle and partner up for:

Decline Merkins on bleachers while partner runs/switch up

    Dips/Run

    Incline Merkins/Run

    Dips/Run

EF Hutton tosses potato to, none other than, Splinter. Splinter realizes he has been tossed the potato two weeks in a row now and doesn’t really know how to react. He gathers his thoughts and emotions and has us mosey into campus(without masks) to a parking lot.

Grab your favorite pebble-filled parking spot and plank walk-right, crawl bear, plank walk-left, bear crawl around your parking spot four(!) times.

Staying in your parking spot, complete windshield wiper merkins back and forth in your spot. Forgot the total.

Starting in your spot, Polar Bear, 4 Mt. Climbers, Polar Bear, 4 Mt. Climbers, Polar Bear, etc, etc.

Enough of this craziness. Splinter tosses the potato to YHC. Mosey down Crenshaw toward Westhampton Way stopping along the way to look at a hill that YHC wanted to Bernie Sanders a few times. YHC and Hutton learn the hard way that there is a swamp at the bottom of the hill, so change of plans.

Mosey down the roads, back to toward the flag, performing a travelling Lindsay consisting of LBC’s and Carolina Dry Docks. Complete last set in Saab’s driveway. Now it’s time to molest Saab’s driveway with Pickle Pounders, Alabama Prom Dates and some Suzanne Somers.

    Back to the flag for:

Numberama, Namearama, Announcements and Last Call took us out!

    NMS:

A few of us thought that Splinter was going for Burpee 11’s again when he received the potato, but it wasn’t to be thank God. Maybe in 12 months when he gets the potato tossed to him again. Hutton has an exercise named after him now which is his favorite version of Jack Webb’s. It was nice to be on the cold practice field again after a long absence. The parking lot work was brutal to YHC’s shoulders, then YHC prescribed a shoulder exercise within the Lindsay(why not?)

Nice morning to be out and to get our day started on the right track. No UR students gave us evil looks for being mask-less. Evidently, that wasn’t the story at Spider Run.

Enjoyed it, men! Have a great day!

Thanks for coming out this morning and celebrating YHC’s three year F3 Anniversary. YHC is very grateful for the friends/brothers that he has made and for your continuing to push me to higher levels.

Also, thanks for enduring a Q by a PAX member that is still under 50 years old at Mary. YHC knows that’s a rarity!

Everyone have a great day and SYITG!

  • First Watch 6-Pack

Six strong found their way to First Watch on this glorious morning. After Swiper found the Pax in the correct parking lot, off we went to the front of the church.

    COP:

SSH’s, Helicopters, Don Quixotes, Russian Soldiers, Scorpion Kicks, Merkins, LBC’s

Since Honeydo did not want to honor the Washington Football Team at Hoedown on Monday for their big win, YHC called out 8 Burpees on your own for the 8 sacks that the WFT defense collected on Sunday. Thnaks to EF Hutton for the idea of Sacks=Burpees instead of Points=Burpees.

Mosey down to the main parking lot for:

    DORA:

Partner up and complete 100 x WWII sit-ups, 200 x 2-count Flutter Kicks and 300 x Squats. Partner runs to the church bus and back.

    Rosalitas x 20

Numbers, Names, Announcements and YHC took us out!

    NMS:

There always seems to be a rotating PAX at First Watch. A couple of the regulars decided to complete the IPC Week 3 challenge again this morning and head over to Heartbreak Ridge, but a couple of First Watch Kotters and a Newbie filled in the blanks. You can always count on 5 or 6 PAX hitting the very early workout. Temps were great and the PAX put in some good, hard work. Going from Balls to the Wall into a Bear Crawl with Merkins was kinda brutal. Or vice versa, Crawls into BTTW, same brutality.

Thanks for coming out early, men! Have a great day!

  • Lit

Seven strong hit the schoolyard this morning to make the start of their day count. After Keymaster showed up to make it an uneven number of PAX, this is what went down:

2 burpees at each light pole on Commonwealth from Cary to Grove

    Mary:

    Reverse Crunches

    APD’s

Numbers, Names, Announcements and Shiplap took us out!

    NMS:

Everyone was surprised to see Hitchhiker appear in the gloom after he had to cut his Q short yesterday after he rolled his ankle. We guess he didn’t want to lose track of Swirly in #bigdata standings.

Larger numbers this morning than what YHC had guessed because of Bone Thugs’ VQ. YHC hopes it went well over at The Forge. Bodo’s enjoyed having YHC Q two days in a row and Shiplap continues to post regulary and make himself better! Well done, Shiplap! Always good to see YHC’s neighbor, Keymaster in the gloom and to see Westham’s strong duo of Pucker and Upchuck! Well done, all!

“Question of the Morning” goes to Hitchhiker: “In English, how do you describe a light post that is shining light?”

    Have a great day!
