  • 82nd

Three ruckers departed Jack Browns at the stroke of 6:30 with the intention of covering 8.2 miles for the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. According to the dozen or so deer seen in the first four miles, there was a significant amount of hills and steep elevation as we repeatedly dropped down to the bottom and climbed out.

    We hit all the favorites:

    • Both forks in the snake’s tongue of Tempsford and Kennondale
    • Wilton, Paxton, and Amphill
    • West Hillcrest and the long grind up Charmian

As we entered Windsor Farms, the ambiguous street signs on Sulgrave caused us to take a wrong turn at St Mere Eglise and tack on extra miles – coming a few doors down from Hitchhiker’s place.

The sunset as we reached Dover and headed west was spectacular as we powered through the final miles. In all, we covered 8.9 miles or so.

Moleskin: The bouncer at Jack Brown’s searched our rucks – as confusion in discovering cinder blocks gave way to respect that we had just finished almost 9 miles. Beer and burger has never tasted better!

  • Like an Accordion

10 runners and at least 2 bikers embarked today on various routes. Runners zig zagged to Monument and back to Grove for their respective distances – all with a victory lap around the school block upon return.

  • Keeping It Moving

Seven of the areas all-stars descended down the hill and back up – working out along the way. Moving was to cover ground – but also escape a certain Pax members gaseous releases. God help him.

  • Marathon Detours

With minutes to go until launch time, YHC was the only car in sight. Thinking a solo workout was in store, three – and eventually four – Pax arrived. We hit some of this AO’s greatest offerings working a lot of abs, legs, and a bit of shoulders.

It was great to grab coffee and cheer on the marathon runners in one of city’s scenic areas with Bootleg and Blank Space. We took many routes to get close enough to Libbie Market and walk the rest of the way in.
