  • Viking Funeral

The 530 crew header out Hamilton to Westwood and hang a left. Westwood turns into Malvern. 4s take Malvern to Grove and back to the AO with 5s hanging a right on Patterson, a left on Lexington, and a left on Grove.

The crew took a sidebar to admire the Carvanna facility and search the pockets for some change to get a car out of the machine.

  • Glitter on the Snow

The routes were simple in execution, complicated in explanation. Regardless, all made it back on time.

Off we went via the bat cave, watching for ice. Behind the shopping center and picking up Westham Station with a nice ascent up the hill. Left on Ross to pick up the Culpeper, Thom, Cameron loop to then tread across the First Watch AO to pick up Gaymont.

4s turned right on University to return to the flag. 5s and 6s turner left to take the Ziontown extension. 5s then picked up Lakewood to University and back home while 6s continued down Forest to take Rock Creek, Baldwin, Westham Pkwy to University.

Marv took us out in excellence.

Moleskin: While waiting for 530 to roll about, Splinter spotted green glitter in the snow. Discussion and debate followed with speculation as to its origins. Unicorns? An art project that went sideways? Fell off of one of the Pax member’s clothes after a night out? One may never know.

  • Reporting from the Late Shift

Wow! More people were on the 0500 departure list than the standard 530 launch. Well done for all of those seeking extra miles in the gloom!

For those on the 530 departure, we went west on Grove and a right on the access road in front of the churches. Take a right on St Chris and a right on Patterson. 4s turn right on Westmoreland, 5s on Malvern, and 6s on Nansemond – all returning on Grove to the AO.

Faceplant got slightly lost, but just as confident in his ability to get lost, he was equally capable of finding a route home. Improvising at its best.

  • Better Late Than Never

18 or so runners cruised the early morning streets of Richmond in search of some miles. A good time was had by all and Upchuck took us out.

Routes were through Windsor Farms and back out to Patterson and a meander back to the AO depending on the mileage.

  • Another for the Books

13 runners of all different paces, distances, and start times launched for the final run for 2021. Routes cruised through the museum district to Byrd Park and back.

Bodos took us out in style.

It was great meeting up for coffee afterwards with such a large group. The workouts and the second Fs build a strong camaraderie that YHC is thankful for everyday, but especially this time of year.

Great conversation today with the pack YHC was running with. It makes the miles fly by. Hitch is looking for a solid beverage to help him with his break between semesters. If you have a recommendation, update the comments to help with his #DayDrinking.

A new layer of Shakedown’s psyche was unveiled today as he mixed up Cradle Robber with Grave Robber. Let’s unpack that sometime.

Safe travels to many Pax who will be on the road over the holidays. Stay safe, return soon.

HDHH next week to celebrate the holidays and all the Pax birthdays. YHC will send a pre-blast soon.

  • The twins won’t arrive until later, I have plenty of time

With plenty of time to spare before the arrival of two 2.0s, Ripcord came out to enjoy today’s run. YHC chose a route to hit some of the streets that we never cover: Stuart and Park.

East on Grove, left on Nansemond, right on Stuart. 4s turn left on Davis, 5s on Meadow, and 6s go Linden with all three distances coming back on Park. Take a left on Rosneath and back to Grove to the AO.
