Quiet morning for a run. The crowd came in right on time and off we went to Snake River. 4s to the fork, 5s did both tongues, 6s did both tongues twice – all returning on Patterson.

    YHC look us out.

  • The Second Half

A pack of six mosey’d over to the grassy triangle for COP. Helicopter, Don Quixote, Imperial Walkers, SSH, and Scorpion Kicks were the exercise du jour. At one point I thought I saw eyes looking up at me and decided against foreboding copperhead squats.

Down Westham Station for “Side Street Lindsays”. At every intersection, we perform a set. Exercises were Box Cutters and Carolina Dry Docks.

At the flats by the canal, we partnered up for some Dora. Run a tenth of a mile down and back while your partner does 100 merkins, 200 monkey jumpers, and 300 flutter kicks.

Hang a left on old bridge heading up hill. Partner 1 runs the hill to the first intersection and back to partner 2. Partner 2 performs walking lunges, broad jump burpees, and bunny hops.

We had so much fun we did it again as we turned on Highland, but this time with bear crawls and reverse lunges. Hutton has a true bear crawl gift as he made it to the top had a beer, took a nap, and woke to greet us when we arrived.

Long mosey up the hill and along River. Stop for some Mary in Saab’s driveway (APD, right oblique crunches, left oblique crunches).

Back to the AO where YHC took us out.

This year is roughly halfway done and its been a crazy one so far. How are you going to get the most out of the second half?

  • On the Road Again

A lucky 13 gathered today at various times for various distances. Good times were had by all with perfect weather, an early sunrise, and a full moon.

The 530 crew ran with reverse Carillon routes. There was quite an extensive early AM crew with Bleeder being first on the AO today.

As it is Nurses Week, Flatline took us out.

    Announcements:

    • Reach out to a nurse this week and thank them.
    • Memorial Day Murph coming up to get those arms ready for the summer.
    • Big talks of a CSAUP replacement for BRR that may be in the works.

  • A Pirate Looks at 45

An elite 9 ventured out into a full moon AO in search of the truth. Was this really a Lockjaw Q? Would he show? Does he really exist?

It turns out the answer is yes to all three questions.

A quick jaunt to the side of the AO for COP. 45 SSH, Don Quixote, Trademark Russian Soldiers, Scorpion Kicks, and HRM.

Mosey to the blacktop for a socially distanced Triple Check. BTTW, Elbow Planks, and Karaoke to the fence, three Burpees, and Karaoke back.

Back to the field and line up for the Beast.

    Swirly took us out.

    The Moleskin

It’s been way too long since YHC has seen many of the PAX and YHC misses the camaraderie, constructive competition, and mumble chatter that accompanies this fine group of men. I am glad to see everyone is strong and doing well.

Oh, and we saw TYA driving around.

  • Returning to the Scene of the Crime

Fourteen on February 14, as these love birds flew off on their routes.

    The Route

6s head east on Grove and north on Revellie to Patterson. 4s/5s head north on Westmoreland. Everyone heads west on Patterson.

5s/6s turn right on Maple, left on Dustin, left on Pepper, left on Three Chopt, left on Grove.

4s turn left on Maple, left on Grove and a victory lap around the Mary Mumford block.

Shakedown took us out with thoughts and prayers going to Sugar Sock for the loss of his friend.

    Moleskin

Usually Marv expresses his displeasure for YHC’s routes up front via commentary. In this case it seems he bottled it up for a few miles before visiting Starbucks en route. Afterwards, YHC thought he would return to the scene of this crime and pick up some Valentine’s Day coffee. Ah, coffee.

Hey! It’s Valentine’s Day!. Handshake described his shopping experiences last night getting the last of the flowers, cards, and chocolates. On completion of the story, Face Plant seemed in a hurry to depart. I believe he was in search of what’s left on the shelves of a CVS on the way home. Good luck buddy.

    Embracing the gloom

  • This Way and That

A lucky 13 came out for spring weather to splash in the mud puddles and warmth.

We went west, a little north, east, south, and then finished with a little more west. Roads traversed were primarily Grove and Patterson with cross throughs of Libbie, Malvern, Nansemond, and St Chris depending on your distance.

Marv (the birthday boy) took us out. It isn’t really his birthday, but that shouldn’t hold him back from celebrating.

  • Right Angles

It was a full parking lot at the AO this morning in the gloom with record numbers of RAMM’s faithful as well as those on tour.

We headed east on Grove, north on Hamilton, south on Westwood/Malvern, and west on Patterson. Yep, it looks like a big right angle.

4s turned south on Westmoreland, 5s on Lexington, and 6s on Seneca all taking Grove eastbound to the shovel flag.

    TYA took us out.

Announcements: Shakedown is looking for running volunteers at the Healing Place on Saturday mornings to help those training for the Monument 10K.

Shiver in the River? See Bobbery for details in joining the F3 team – February 29 5K with a dip in the river. What else do you have to do on leap day?

  • Straight Forward Directions

Twenty steeds, ready to run or ride, embraced warming weather and fine fellowship to pass the miles.

East on Grove and left on Malvern (4s/5s) or Nansemond (6s). Take a left on Patterson and head westbound. 4s turn left on Libbie to Grove and home. 5s/6s turn left on St Chris to Henri to Grove and home.

    Swirly took us out.

It was good to see everyone today and catch up. Hitchhiker keeps putting in the miles and its showing. Excellent work!
