  • Caligula Training

A dozen hormonal post teens converged on the lush fields of Huguenot Park to prepare their abs for the upcoming pool season. According to the dog walker patrolling the perimeter, this is what occured.

Mosey to Field 1 for the F3 disclaimer and an upright Warmarama that included SSH’s, DQ’s, Helis, Imperial Walkers, Copperhead Squats, Jazzercise and Dead Man Hang. Everyone warm, lets begin:

COP #1: Super Dora – Mosey to the side of the field for the following 50 Big Boy Sit ups. 100 Hand Release Merkins, 150 WWII’s, 200 Pickle Pounders. Timer runs across the newly painted field and back. Al Gore for the 6.

COP #2: Triple Check – Long Mosey back to the restrooms and partner up. Pole Smokers, Jack Lalines (or Hoedowns), Timer runs to the playground and returns.

COP #3: 4 Corners – Short Mosey to the Basketball Court. 4 corners: 10 Burpees, 20 Squats, 30 Carolina Dry Docks, 40 Monkey Humpers. Alternate between Bear Crawl/Bob and Weave between corners.

Ring of Fire: 10 merkins each for 2 rounds. Followed by 50 LBC’s and 10 Heals to Heaven.

Prayers to DTH and his family as his sister is battling some health issues.

3 Year Anniversary at the Forge this Thursday (4/7). New shirt design and hats available for order shortly.

NMS: Great turnout this morning with New Market and Amelia making the trip and contributing great mumble chatter. Garbage Plate provided the Super Dora idea to work the abs for bikini season. Big boy situps were well received but it was the 200 pickle pounders that got the blood flowing. Great work today gents. It is great to start the day with humor and energy.

  • Bowl of Broga

A trio of Broga regulars welcomed another rookie to pre Gumbo helping of Broga. That make 2 new rookies in 2 weeks for those counting. Working a variety of shoulders, hips and hamstrings before the Gumbo beatdown that immediately followed. Chaplain and I were happy to have Shiplap back after his maiden voyage last week along with Soul Train who is making his rounds on his first F3 week. Numbers are growing. Soon this Broga thing might catch on and prove the haters wrong.

  • Breaking Broga

2 Grizzled Brogi veterans and 1 New to the Broga grind arrived early to the courts of No Toll for some Broga Flow. This morning we concentrated on shoulders, hips and hamstrings before the Florence Spartan Beatdown. Good to have some Shiplap enjoy the stretch in the gloom as Chaplain has become a Broga master. Enjoy the day fellas.

  • Why Did I Call

YHC received a late night booty text from Chaplain to arrange a rendezvous at the mean courts of No Toll for some Broga before the Corned Beef beatdown. YHC was happy to oblige with the typical formations. Warrior and Pigeon are a typical personal favorite. 5 am seems to come earlier and earlier. Good to see Chaplain come and join.

  • Lasagna without Dessert is not a meal

Last Call along with his 2.0’s and M gladly took the duty to serve the wonderful men at the Southside Shelter on Sunday Night. It was Pasta Night with a strong helping of Lasagna, Beans and Bread. For Dessert, homemade cookies and brownies. Strong showing by lil’ Last Call on preparing the desserts and selecting the meal. M wanted a healthier version with fruits for dessert but was quickly overruled with homemade cookies and brownies. Always enjoy this event. Great work.

  • Not Cold Anymore

Seven men rose from the fart sack this morn. Six dressed in their summer attire and one ready for the extended winter. A fun time was had by all until the clock struck 5.30 and off we jaunted to see what paraphernalia could be found lurking around Huguenot High School.

Mosey around the bus loop with some butt kickers, high knees, karaoke (both ways) and Bernie Sanders. Circle up for warmarama that included SSH’s, Helis, Dead Man Hang, Cherry Pickers, Merkins, Carolina X’s, Freddy Mecuries and LBC’s. Abs looking fit for bikini season, short mosey to the bottom of the hill for a…..

Triple Check: Timer runs the loop, Balls to the Wall and Heals to Heaven for the stragglers. Plank for the 6. Quick mosey to the amphitheater. Along the way stop on the hill for Clockwork Merkins: 1 merkin at 1:00, 2 merkins at 2:00, 3 merkins at 3:00, looking at you Chap. Burning in the shoulders, lets continue on to the amphitheater for…….

11’s: Box Jumps to the top, 1 derkin, mosey back to the bottom, 10 dips. Continue on until numbers are flipped. Bad idea. Still burns. Collect the 6 and lets mosey the rear drive for……

Lindsay: 30 Carolina Dry Docks (lot of shoulder work today)/10 World War II’s (rock hard abs boys). At every intersection reduce dry docks by 5, increase WWII by 5. Find that grass as soon as possible. Collect everyone at Forest Hill Avenue for….

Light Poles along the Avenue: Flip between 2 burpee and 2 Lt. Dans at every pole along Forest Hill all the way back to the flag.

Perfect Timing as time was called upon YHC’s arrival.

Thoughts and Prayers for DTH and his M as family friends are battling recent health scares. Good luck and a reminder to all to get checked. Chaplain is leading clockwork merkins at Twin Team on Friday. Monthly Convergence at Dogpile on Saturday.

NMS: YHC was not sure what to do as the Q snuck up on him this morning. Great to have some warm temps to get the Forge regulars out of the fart sack. Doozy showed up in his winter attire expecting a blizzard or to protect his delicate skin from the rising sun. 3/4 through the workout he was shedding layers. Clockwork Merkins should not be followed by Derkins. Plenty of shoulder work today. Thank you boys for joining me. This is a great group and one I enjoy seeing on the regular.

  • Don’t mind us. Just keep shooting.

2 Brogi Veterans and 1 Rookie were up before the rooster to limber up in the spring like air at No Toll. This is what was rumored to have occurred according to Lebron that shared the courts for a presunrise shootaround.

Hips and Hamstrings were the focus of the day. Pigeon is fast becoming a fan favorite. Good to have DTH join Chaplain and YHC for the Broga craze to limber up before Doozy laid down the hammer. Hopefully spring weather stays and Broga will continue on the mean courts of No Toll.

  • Its Getting Crowded

Two is fun but three is better as was determined by the early risers looking to get some Broga in before a brutal Hutton beatdown. According to Handshake’s M, that thought it is nuts to Broga at 4.30, this is what went down.

Big emphasis on hamstrings with some work on the hips and calves. Pleasant surprise that Doublemint was waiting for YHC and Kubota to make this morning a group session. Getting limber for the upcoming nuptials. Limited pops from Kubotas knees proves this stuff works.

Great to see numbers increase. Look forward to warmer temps. Broga goes south next Tuesday at No Toll – 5 am start.

  • Love in an Elevator

A trio of triple HIMS avoided black ice and the temptation of the fart sack to enjoy to push each other to become better. This is what was seen by the dog walking public with the confused look that strolled by.

Mosey to the usual parking lot for disclaimer and warm ups. 2 latecomers joined in, giving 9 total (perfect triple check attendance). Warm ups included DQ’s, Heli’s, Copperhead Squats, Jazzercise, Russian Soldiers, Hillbillies and Imperial Walkers.

THE THANG: Mosey to the far corner for a variation of 4 corners. Elevator style (repeating previous exercises at each corner) and prostitute (always back to the same corner). Brocode with a burpee at the start/finish every round. Exercises included 10 HR Merkins, 20 World War II, 30 double count Mountain Climbers, 40 Monkey Humpers. This was a burner.

Next Up – Grab a pole for pole smokers. 5 pole smokers and run to the end of the line while PAX holds 6″. Rinse and Repeat

Mosey to the restrooms for triple check. Australian Mountain Climbers, Peoples Chair, Runner to the playground and back. BTTF

Numbers, Names, Announcements. YHC took us out.

Announcements: Gypsy is leading a volunteer drive for M’s & 2.0’s at the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls. Info on Slack. Ramp Building with Corned Beef continues and still needs carpenters. Coffee will be served at Forge on Thursday. Prayers to Fresh Prince for a quick recovery.

NMS: YHC wanted to run this 4 corners version on the fields of No Toll but frozen and muddy were not ideal conditions. PAX commented on the dampness but shoes stayed dry which was the goal. Triple Check was an unpleasant ending but PAX pulled through for this scorcher of a work out. Thank you Gents for a wonderful morning. Always look forward to working out with such fine gents.

  • Just a Test

A trio of runners joined a pair of boots for the enjoyment of a fine Virginia morning. The clock struck time so off we went our separate ways. According the janitorial staff wandering around Betty Weaver, this is what was rumored to have occured.

Quick mosey to the bus loop for a warm up that included DQ’s, Heli’s, Arm Circles, Dead Man Hang, LBC’s and Hello Dollies. Wander over to the black top to try out some 4 corners to waste time and burn some energy. Exercises included merkins, American Hammers, Squats and Monkey Humpers. Burpees were performed between each round.

Mosey to the Jungle Gym for a Stationary Dora. 50 Hanging Leg Lifts, 100 Bent Leg Lifts, 150 Dips. Do as many as you can while partner planks.

Mosey back under cover for 50 lunges and 3 minutes of Broga to end a full week.

BTTF, Numbers, Names, YHC took us out

Announcements: Draper is doing some track work on Monday in celebration of his upcoming departure from “Hate”. 40 laps around the James River High School Track to commemorate each year. Come join the celebration with as many years you wish to join him. See slack for details.

NMS: Great to get back out to Twin Team. This AO has so much to offer in variety and space, good mix today with Chap. Great working with him with ample mumble chatter. Runners put in some good hill mileage as well. Ran held off mostly, wind was constant but refreshing. Good work today gents. Great way to kick off the weekend.
