  • MannMakers at Manndate

Warm Up – SSH, Cherry Pickers, Freddy Mercuries, Merkins

Workout – 11’s Up and Down the Parking Lot. Boat Canoe’s one one end and Mannmakers on the other end. There was a lot of mumble chatter and this took a crazy amount of time. Lined up for light pole exercise. 5 at first pole, do 5 and add 10 of next exercise, etc… First light was body builders which there was much discussion on property form. After much instruction from Mudface, Yardsale was able to get his KB up above his head in proper form. At the send pole we did body builders and modified windshield wipers, a creation of Trout. By this this it was 6:13 and time to wrap it up.

Numberama, Namarama, and then we (Yardsale and Mudface) got sidetracked in a conversation about transgender powerlifters. I don’t think Trout wanted to go down that hole so he headed out. Great conversation with Mudface.

  • Not Sunny and 70

The Trout and I met up on a not so sunny and 70 degree morning. I locked my keys in the car so it wasn’t a great start. Mechanicsville EM has a lot of covered sidewalks so there was plenty of room to work out in the dry. We started off with a few laps around the courtyard sidewalks followed by arm circles, side straddle hops, lbc’s and merkins. Thanks to Corned Beef, I have learned that a Tabata is perfect for a rainy or snowy day with limited space. We did 36 minutes, including 8 cycles of 9 exercises. We did 3 upper body, 3 core and 3 legs. Exercises were something like: bear crawls, boat canoes, Helix squats, balls to the wall, freddy mercuries, jump up onto the bench, incline merkins, I can’t remember and calf raises on the garden ties. It went quick. We headed toward to the car with 1 minute left. We skipped numberama and namerama as we know each other, it was raining and I needed Trout to drive me home. As always, my day is better because I started it with F3.

  • The Creek in a Boat

7 men met on a beautiful February morning. It was 34 but no wind and a huge moon. At 5:30 sharp we jogged to the parking lot to warmup. Warmup: Arm Circles, Side Straddle Hops, Hand Release Merkins, LBC’s and Tippy Toes. Headed to the corner of the parking lot for 3 sets of triple checks. Everyone partnered up (Due to the odd number, the Q shadowed Corned Beef). First round 100 Merkins, 200 Money Humpers and 300 Heals to Heaven. Second round 80 Boat Canoes, 200 Helix Squats and 300 Shoulder Taps. Third round 100 merkins, 200 Should Taps and 300 Heals To Heaven. That’s all we had time for. Circled up. Numberama, Namerama, Anouncements and prayer by Mud Face. Mumble Chatter was awesome as always. Thank you for letting me Q. What a great way to kick off the weekend. See you in the gloom.

  • Good Morning at The Anvil

4 men arrived at The Anvil for a fun workout. Started with parking lot tracers, merkins, cherry pickers, lbc’s and side straddle hops to warm up. Headed to the basketball court to run a few suicides. Someone should really repaint those lines. Went to the jungle gym to touch feet to the monkey bars (Trout taught me this but I can’t remember what it’s called). Next we did a modified Dora. We paired up. 1 Ran while the other did the exercises (60 boat canoes, 100 merkins, 200 lbc’s and 300 heels to heaven. Headed over to the benches. Where we did 20 dips and 20 jumps up on the benches. We repeated this 5 times for 100 of each. Time was up so we headed to the parking lot for numberama, namerama, and a quick prayer by the Q.

I hadn’t seen Mudface in a couple of weeks so it was great to have him back. Rumor is that No Idea will be back soon. Hopefully we’ll see him at Manndate on Wednesday.

  • Double Date at Manndate

It was good to see these guys on a 27 degree morning. Started promptly at 5:30 with warmup of: side straddle hops, LBC’s, Merkins and Arm Circles. We didn’t go far because this morning was a tabata. 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. We did various exercises going from arms to core to legs. Exercises included: Clean and Press, sit up press, squats, halos’, boat-canoe’s, calf raises, demon crushers, lunges and some I can’t recall. As usual it was a pleasure to lead these guys. Every day is better when I start it with an F3 workout. Numberama, Namearama, a prayer by Yardsale and we were out of there a couple of minutes late. Have a great day guys and be careful in the ice tomorrow.

  • Prom Dates With the Police

The Q was a couple of minutes late.  There was most snow on the car than expected.  Luckily Corned Beef was there ahead of time scouting things out.  We took a lap around the school and settled in under the covered area outside the cafeteria.  After a few of the regular warm up exercises (merkins, LBC’s, etc….) we started the Tabata.  20 seconds on, 10 seconds off.  We started with the upper body, moved to core and down to lower body.  We did this for about 40 minutes.  When we go tired, we did a few Alabama Prom Dates.  As coincidence would have it, that’s when an officer walked up behind the two of us to ask what we were doing.  No idea why two men humping the sky in a dark corridor should require any questions.  After a quick conversation he headed back to his car and headed out.  All kidding aside, Hanover Police officers are the best. We ran about  5 minute late.  Numberama, Namarama and we were off.

  • Back From a Long Absence

Mosey around the bus look in case in LIFO’s posted.  Circled up at front doors of the school to warm up.  Side Straddle Hope, Arm Circles, Hand Release Merkins, LBC’s and Hillbilly’s.  Short mosey to the wall.  Find a partner.  One partner does Balls to the Walls while the other does 20 Halo’s with their KB.  Switch back and forth until each team has done 80 Halo’s, 80 one handed swings (thank you MudFace for fixing our form), 80 Goblet Squats and 80 Lawn Mowers.  A little chatter was heard about why we were doing Balls to the Walls during a KB workout.  Because the Q said so.  Next was 4 Corners of the Bus Loop.  The corners were 20 Pullovers, 20 Around the Waists, 20 Monkey Humpers (w/o KB) and 20 Boat-Canoe’s.  Next was 11’s across the parking log.  11’s consisted of Monkey Humpers (w/out KB) and Clean/Presses.  You ask why Monkey Humpers?  Ski season is coming quickly and need to work on those thighs.  Nobody completed the 11’s before we ran out of time.  Circle Up.  One minute left so we did some Boat-Canoe’s in honor of Chewy.  Numberama, Namarama, Anouncements and Closing Prayer.  An announcement was made by MudFace.  On Thursday there is a Merkin Challenge.  The goal is to do 900 Merkins in 45 minutes at the workout (a merkin every 3 seconds).   I’ve been out for the better part of 3 months, it’s great to be back with the guys.

  • Time is Winding Down at The Church for The Creek

Warm Up – Side Straddle Hops, Hand Release Merkins, LBC’s, Don Quixote’s

Mosey to the Field For a Wilt – Two times around the field doing 50 of each of the corners (total 100 each exercise) – LBC’s, Flutter Kicks, SSH’s and Skull Crushers.

Mosey to the parking lot.  4 Corners of The Church – 10 Bobby Hurley’s, 10 Merkins, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 WWII Situps.  Plank and wait for the six.  When running between the corners, always face the west woods.  Go around again doing 20 of each.  Plank up and wait for the six.

Indian Run until we got back near the cell tower/bell tower.

Tunnel of Love from bell tower back to the flag.  We had 1 minute left so we did a few boat/canoe’s until 6:15.

Numberama, Namerama, Announcements – group going to Dog Pile tomorrow. A lot of guys are traveling to all of the sites this summer – it’s not to late to start.  (There were probably others but I don’t remember).

Yard Sale took us out with a quick prayer.    As always – it was my pleasure and absolutely the best way to start a day.

  • The Carpenter Was Late

We started on time on a muggy 70 degree morning.  Warmed up with Arm Circles, LBC’s, Hand Release Merkins and Side Straddle Hops.  Headed over to the bus loop for some 4 corners.  Between the corners you had the choice of halo’s or moving the KB around your waist.  1st corner – 10 lawn mowers, 2nd corner – 10 sit up presses, 3rd corner – 10 goblet squats, 4th corner – 10 single arm kettle bell swings.  Plank up and wait for the six.  Next 20 of each, plank up and wait for the six followed by 30 of each.  Next – Partner up – 1 partner ran around the circle while the 2nd did the following:  25 boat canoe’s, 50 pull overs, 75 two arm swings and 100 halo’s or swing around the waist. Partners traded each lap. Indian walk/run – the Pax moved around the bus loop holding their KB’s over their heads. The one in the rear moved up to the front while doing halo’s. Some walked fast while some ran (Rounders). We were running out of time but started 11’s with Sit Up Presses and Clean & Presses. When we ran out of time we headed back to the flag. Numberama, Namerama, Anouncements – Saturday 7:30 at Milestone Clubhouse – new guy Saturday workout. Chewy took us out with a prayer.

  • Beautiful Morning for Kettle Bells

Mosey around the school to see if we’d pick up any stragglers. No stragglers – where are you Mudface, Chewey and No Idea? Partner up – Balls to the Wall for partner 1 and 10 halo’s each direction for the next partner. Then switch. Each partner does a total of 100 halo’s. Wall sits while waiting for everyone to finish up. 4 Corners of the bus loop. 1st corner – 10 lawn mowers each arm 2nd corner – 10 pull overs, 3rd corner – 10 crunch presses, 4th corner – 10 two handed kettle bell swings. Wait for the pax. Go around again doing 20 of each exercise. Back to the wall – partner up – 11’s – handed kettle bell swings and Helix Kettle Bell Squat. Mosey to the Circle (we need more flags). Boat – Canoe’s then Circle of Fire – 10 merkins each. More Boat – Canoe’s. Numberama, Namerama, Announcements – Wild Things M seems to be responding well to treatments. Saturday June 22 will be a work out for new folks at Milestone Field 7:30 AM. Great chance to bring out new folks. Workout will be challenging but not punishing. Thank you for letting me Q today. This will be a great day!
