  • The Three Stooges

Guess I’ll write this backblast, hopefully Draper doesn’t as well.

A non-Salisbury route was selected to change things up, Bullseye recommended the mines and YHC offered up an old Off the Books route down Coalfield, Draper helped on the finer details. Down Coalfield, dropped into The Grove over to the cut through to Midlothian Mines, around the lake and up Mount Midlo home. Total a little over 4 miles.

Good conversation was had. Three Stooges title, which I’m sure has been used before, came as car stopped to enter a parking lot, waiting for us to cross, and we couldn’t have handled much worse trying to avoid a collision with the car and ourselves. It was comical.

  • Merger

YHC wasn’t sure if he’d make it to River Run with the Patriots playing the Wildcard round Sunday night game. At 5:15 AM, the flare was sent that I’d arrive on time, but Bullseye wasn’t in sight at the AO.

Out Helmsley to Brigstock to Kentford, across the golf course and down Banstead and wait….another runner at the intersection! As fate would have it, there was Bullseye. We then trekked another mile or two until YHC’s stomach gave out around mile 3.5. Bullseye carried the torch on for an unknown amount of distance thereafter.

  • The New ‘River Run’

River Run, or Lake Run, or Salisbury Run. A new beginning for the few of us that attend. It was decided new routes were desired so Bullseye and YHC met at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer or Reds the last few outings and found the terrain and options to be welcoming. We’ll meet there for the foreseeable future. The River is still within reach, 4miles, so the name can stick as far as I care.

Getting used to the new routes, it was a 4ish mile jaunt around Salisbury including a few holes on the golf course.

  • Downrange Salisbury?

YHC and Bullseye connected to run a different route this holiday season. Meeting at the Church of the Redeemer, which is fitting for the luminary lighting that occurs on Christmas Eve running from the neighborhoods to the church. 4.3 miles logged for me, Bullseye ran to and from for over 6 probably. Nice morning for a job through the hood. Merry Christmas y’all.

  • Frosty Run

It was cold that day, COLD I tell you. Bullseye and YHC headed to the flats of Riverdown until YHC had to reroute the course for a warmer restroom. 4ish miles.

  • Isolation

Ah, YHC forgets OC’s slogan on the t-shirt, isolation in masturbation perhaps, but not as crude. Where to begin….balls and shaft? I recognize a kinship. Christmas party masturbation unemployment? Let’s start with the lounge, shall we –

10 regulars joined up for a Lounge-type workout. some might say not full lounge, but YHC felt with the chill in the air, keeping moving would be best. Mosey to bottom Twin Team. Warm ups. Slight jog up the hill, dora back down. Mosey to neighborhood street – Love Hill with lunges. Mosey to bus loop – 1 curb crawl. Mosey to basketball courts – 15 minutes of OC’s flat-ball basketball.

The lounge mentality was on full display today and it was glorious. Too many laughs to recount. Join us if you can boys, it’s a hoot. Thanks to Last Call for providing refreshments. I’m taking my ball and I’m going home.

  • Blistery Winds Run

YHC and Bullseye left the parking lot in seek of protection from the elements, and so Salisbury it was. Out Oakengate to Winterfield and back, 4.5+miles were logged.

Apologies to Draper, heard the car horn as we crossed the street but thought it was a ‘hello’ beep and not a ‘wait for me’ beep. Bullseye and I turned around several times on the straightaway, pausing to see if anyone was joining, before plunging into the depths of the dirt road near Ms. Weaver’s house.

    Conversations were had and appreciated.

  • Running on Empty

No ties to the run itself, just seemed like a classic name for a F3 run. YHC had Grinch-esque ideas of running a Tarrington loop so off we went. The route was not disclosed until the hill was underway. Ha, got em. 4.35 miles in total up Tarrington and through Powderham -> Brigstock, Solstice -> Twin Team and home.

    Stay safe.

  • Stone Harbor Run

Bullseye mentioned a trail run out to Stone Gate and off we went. Nice change of scenery hitting the trails, don’t think YHC would have gotten us through those in the pitch dark. 4+ miles logged. Good stuff. Happy December.

  • Stranger Things Run

YHC and Bullseye left the larger SOT crowd for a jaunt through the underworld known as Salisbury. 4ish miles in and around the hood and back to the point of beginning. No sightings of #001, #011 or the Hellfire Club. Nice hang at the StrangerBucks for coffee after.
