  • South side takeover to South side

    10 Started, 9 returned.

Route – bat cave -> across bridge -> Huguenot Trail. 4 milers home, 5 milers add the flat to Hickory, 6 miles up Hickory across Cherokee and home.

What route should one call when a south side takeover presides? Run to south side of course. Most seemed pleased with the inclusion of a little off road trail mix which doesn’t occur much at Spider and RAMM. YHC and Hitch had the opportunity to run with Bodos, taking a sabbatical from the five mile run. Marv pulled a hammy, hope he made it back safely and heals up today.

Announcements – Summer tour – we’ll see where we get.

  • Resurrection of River Run

Five runners found their way to Bettie Weaver for the kickoff of River Run.

The route – good old fashioned OG run which is the Ashwell loop, up and across Robious and down Twin Team. That’s the 4 mile route, 5 milers add a loop around the high school.

Great to have a solid 5 out for the initial run, though it sounds like Doozy never stopped from the previous shutdown of the AO. YHC had buried the memory of those hills and was painfully reminded this morning. Thanks to Upchuck for the conversation.

Hope to see more join us next week.

  • 5K the easy way

The hitch AI bot sent the signal and two heeded the call.

The thang – quick warm up to wait for others and then off we went. Basically a 3.1 mil run with intermittent fasting, just kidding, intermittent stopping for various exercises. Route – past Carilon down street to road at the bottom of Love Hill through to Sunday Funday and across the bridge. Return back the way we came.

Sometimes small numbers is just what the doctor ordered. Lots of good conversation between the three in attendance. Stay healthy and stay at it. -Singer

  • National Sibling Day

Hitch’s AI signal went up and a classic five took to the grounds of the Carillon for W Dog.

Mosey to circle, warm up with stretching, SSH, planks and LBCs. Await BTs arrival.

Carillon field – sibling love hill variation. run across field, partner 1 performs 10 merkins and then bear crawls until partner 2 returns, switch and partner 2 runs, partner 1 performs 9 merkins, repeat decreasing down to 1 or reach end of field. Version 2- squats and lunges, same decreasing structure beginning with 10 down to 1.

Circle up – stretch, ring of fire.

Mosey to small stage area. Sibling leg throws. 3 for 20.

Triple sibling check – leg ups on table, dips, run to lamp

Amphitheater – rotate three exercises – merkin, SSH, WWI. Start with 1 up to top, so 1 merkin on step 1, 2 SSH on step 2, 3 WWII on step 3, 4 merkins on step 4, 5 SSH on step 5, etc.

Mosey back to flag while performing COT so Swirl would be included and get to his morning meeting.

Moleskin – great work fellas. Always a pleasure to catch up, good times were had, stories of glory days were shared. It’s national sibling day per NPR this morning, so YHC made this a partner type workout. We also took some time to ask questions and share details of our siblings and children siblings throughout the workout. Watch out for unpleasant bikers and stay healthy.

Mosey to far roundabout – Dora. 100 merkins, 200 jump squats, 300 LBCs

  • Roll Your Own v. LVIII

Apologies to the PAX, YHC forgot to log this RAMM workout from last week, and the participants escape me. Let me know if someone needs to be added.

Roll your own version (Super Bowl) LVIII. Marv led everyone down Commonwealth. 4s did the Monument -> Arthur -> Grove rectangle. 6s ran around the Siegel Center a few times in honor of the game that evening and returned home.

Tclaps to TYA for pushing it out there.

  • No Yo’s

At least four made their way around the greater school area for a RAMM run. YHC is late to posting, so let me know if I need to add anyone for big data purposes. There may have been a bike or two as well.

Shakedown and I chose the YoYo route as he hadn’t had the privilege to experience this Upchuck spectacular. Unfortunately there were no other yo’s to yoyo so we just went about our business. Saab and TYA handled their own routes.

COT took place in the new gazebo. Talks of the old days, laughs were had. Good times.

  • Light the Menorah

10 regulars arrived in various modes of transportation for a painful but spirited Spider Run. YHC posted the routes on slack, essentially 4s and 5s run up four different hills to Three Chopt and the 6s take one next 4 other hills, add a thumb with the bat cave and you’ve got yourself a Menorah run. Agreed, this makes no sense at all. But we ran a bunch of difficult hills and it was good. Fight me.

Prayers to our brother Pucker and the Gorman family as they celebrates the life of his mother.

Merry Christmas! There I said it!

Seriously though T-claps to the 6s for tackling those hills, praise Jesus.

  • Holiday Squares Run

10 wise men showed up, no one was on the Q, a conversation occurred and off we went. North on Commonwealth, east on Monument returning on Grove (or Hanover, whatever suits your fancy). 4s turn at Arthur Ashe, 5s and 6s turn on something 22 minutes out up to Grove and home.

As Bodos and YHC were discussing proposed routes over near the antique mobile, the pax started to trickle in and the holiday Monument Ave run was called to order. May need to change this annual tradition that left the ‘tacky light run’ a little to be desired. Monument doesn’t really get good until after Blvd which the 4s cut off, and there was a lot of traffic today. As Marv declared, Hanover is the way to go so we may incorporate that in a future holiday spirit run. Onward and upward men! -Singer

Should have completed this Friday, I’m missing someone. Contact me to edit if needed. TYA? BT? Shake?

  • For the Love of Fours

Initially 4, then 5, and eventually 6 rolled out to run the roads of the Spiders. No Q on the sheet, not a single 5 or 6 miler in the parking lot, the 4s chose the bridge and off we went. Out 2 miles and back 2 miles. Upon the return Speakeasy had arrived but had bad intel on where to meet and missed the starting block. Enjoyed the run today amigos. -Singer
