  • Hey mister, are you lost?!

Out of the foggy gloom a lone runner approached the gathering of dark clad gloom warriors. The lean figure masked with silver shocks of beard and long hair slowed and approached with confidence, joining the circle of men as naturally as any veteran. Not a word was spoken initially, each man asking the same question silently – Hey mister, are you lost?! The dawn of epiphany struck Upchuck first, who welcomed Swiper to the fold, making sure to point out the man’s Covid growth made him nearly unrecognizable. Time struck 0530 and the PAX hurled themselves into humid glory – here is how the creatures living in Swiper’s beard tell the tale…

    NMM

Stayed for close to 30 min after time talking about issues facing each of us with pandemic, masks, schools, virtual learning and other fun stuff on the docket. Great to chat with you all in the post gloom. Always good to know YHC is not alone and is facing similar struggles/issues as other PAX out there!
When YHC called out Nolan Ryans during the COP, Bullseye enquired about what type of pitcher Nolan Ryan was, and if he was a knuckleballer. YHC answered that he was a fastball pitcher. Bullseye said he was thinking of a pitcher he couldn’t remember the name of who was caught on the field with a file in his pocket. YHC did not believe that something like that actually happened. Thanks to the Google now we know. The answer is Joe Niekro

  • When you got to go…

  • Working Up a Lather

5 hit the pavement early to get the sweat going before the sweat. 4 miles and some change, medium pace. Watermelon fueled the return trip.

  • August 1st = HumidSweatMelon

A lucky number 21 warriors shook off the fartsack to welcome August in the best way they know how – losing a liter of sweat in 150% humidity with brothers closer than blood. Here’s how it went down:

    NMS:

    • Is there anything so entertaining as watching Hitchhiker gallop down the Carillon Field taunting those trying to keep up with him? What a GREAT time this morning fellas. YHC was surprised by the perpetual mumble chatter today despite the beatdown – must mean ya’ll miss each other so much you’d rather gab than breath. Appreciate the true grit shown by the PAX to push through the Slutty Cuatro – YHC nearly called an audible, but DAMN if I’m proud we didn’t. Pretty sure I heard someone ask if they were tasting sweat or blood… Thunderous T claps to Hitchhiker for the most 100’s “wins” (and style points with that goading), and also to Probation, Snuff, and Phonix for consistently pushing for a win, and to BoneThugs for a strong finishing win and brilliant last Ring of Fire set. Way to work brother! Big friendly welcome to Florence, transplant from Tallahassee F3. Meanwhile, a notable absence of Wilson today (and all his deep south crew), so I suppose the streak had to end at some point. Hilarious F2 at ET’s after – thx Upchuck for insisting YHC come out. As always, it’s an honor and joy to lead you guys – YHC is deeply grateful to have you gents as integral gears in the DTH success machine. (Don’t mumble that or it’ll sound weird…) SYITG!

  • Paula Abdul can be so confusing!

YHC tried like hell to pass the Q off to POG early this morning with a text. He wasn’t having it and politely told me to get my candy ass out of the fartsack.

Four studs met in the dark clubhouse parking lot (seriously need someone to e-mail clubhouse committee) to start a Friday off right. Here is how it went down or maybe something like this.

Quick COP then mosey to first mailbox on Satan’s Hill to start the Mailbox Paula Abdul. Two forward, one back – 20 of each exercise. Rotated the exercises through the PAX. Repeatos were allowed, but NO burpees. Each mailbox (left & right) were counted. Did not realize how close and how far some mailboxes were from each other. During the workout YHC got really confused on how many forward and back, but Nancy Lopez corrected me as he stated he was a huge fan of Paula Abdul – waiting on confirmation from reliable sources he was president of the national Paula Abdul fan club. If you can stomach watching the entire video, she starts by saying two forward, one back. Then she states two forward two back. The 80’s are so great and confusing. LOL

We got through ~1/2 of the main block before audible had to be called. and back to the flag for 3 minutes of mary.

YHC took us out. Continued prayers for Nancy’s mom and Honeymoon’s dad!

  • Runs like a deer…

    Runs like a deer…

  • Brosey

10 pax showed up for a last minute Q from Roger Roger. It was a nice morning to post. Here’s how it went-

mosey to the front of the school where we circled up and did:

arm circles, reverso, side straddle hops, dead man hang, merkins, scorpion kicks.

    The thang-

mosey to the soccer fields where we did bear crawls for 25 yards followed by 5 burpees, crab walk to 50 yard line 5 more burpees, bear crawl 75 yard line 5 more burpees, crab walk to 100 yard line with 5 more burpees.

turn around repeat 25/50/75/100 with alternating bear crawl and crab walk to include 20 mountain climbers on 25, 40 mountain climbers on 50, 60 WWIIs on 75, and complete with 80 WWIIs on 100.

mosey on to the baseball fields where we did an indigenous people run for 2 laps.

The pax then circled up around the pitchers mound where we did a SQEW YOU home run derby. The first on the mound calls an exercise and takes off running to home plate where they then run the bases and re enter the mound. Each pax called for an excercise, we had side straddle hops, squat jumps, flutter kicks, Superman’s, dive bomber merkins, lunges, imperial walkers! After the rounds of this the SQEW YOU came in. What you called your PaX to do you followed it up with 100 on your own of what you called.

DIPs on the bench for the 6.

lastly in the outfield to brush off the red clay we did 11s to include hand release merkins and flutter kicks in the fresh morning dew.

we were soaked in sweat, clay and dew!

mosey to the flag for announcements and prayer!

    Thanks for the Q gents!
