  • 1 hill and a Beast

Five studs showed up to start the week right on Satan’s hill. Although some reported 72 and sunny, it felt thick and steamy. YHC rolled into the lot finding Wilson and Aisle 5. Honeymoon and Rosetta rolled in right at the bell.

COP- 25 SSH’s, 10 DQ’s, 10 Jazzercise, 20 count dead man hang, helicopter, arm circles rounded it out. Mosey to hill on Otterdale.

As YHC approached he saw sprinklers on and was worried we would need to abort but way up the hill we found a nice dry spot. Bear crawl up hill, 20 reps of called exercise, crawl bear back down for 20 more. Exercises included: squats, IW’s, Russian soldiers, Jump squats. 4 rounds. Mosey back to base of Satan’s hill. Beast up the hill. 6 rounds, exercises included: MErkins, WWII’s, Jump squats, SSH’s, Dollies and ???.

YHC took us out in prayer. Prayers to Honeymoon’s dad and YHC’s mom. Also to Rosetta’s buddy having heart issues. Way to post and work aisle 5. Honeymoon and Rosetta way to set the pace. Wilson way to grind the streak. Great to lead a group of awesome men. Message don’t focus on what is being taken away from you due to this virus. Focus on what you are being given. Thank all. YHC out.

  • Fartsack Will Not Conquer YHC

Alarm clock malfunction.  YHC rolls over to see a clock saying 5:20.  Jump out of the farksack, dress, and hoof it to the AO by 5:28.  Not awake, but ready to take another Q.  This one would have to be mindless.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • 25 SSH
      • 15 IW
      • 10 DQ
      • 15 Helicopters
      • 20 merkins
      • 60 LBC
      • 20 APD
    • Deck of death – 12 reps of an exercise where each suit is a different exercise
      • Hearts – curls
      • Diamonds – high pulls
      • Clubs – weighted squats
      • Spades – sit ‘n presses
      • Joker – burpees
    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX.  We worked up a little pace to get through the deck.  God is good all of the time!

  • Old men, a youngster and a dog…..waking!

YHC was told recently that OTB was a running AO. Funny thing about that is runners need to actually show up to make it a running AO. So walking counts!

4.38 miles in just over an hour. Well done fellas and enjoyed the conversations. Great way to end a week of brutal workouts.

  • Wilson and #BigData Sitting In a Tree…

Wilson is keeping it no secret that he’s atop the heap for #BigData through July so far. Well done! On this day he and 10 other seasoned vets put in work before and after the main event. 3.7 miles according to YHC’s tracker. Keep it cool out there.

  • No triple check this day at Dogpile

No triple check this day at Dogpile

YHC convinced his 2.0 to go out for a morning beatdown and we get to the AO in time to see the runners from ET arrive our group assembles and we are ready to roll. Here is what went down this morning:

    COP

We mosey to Crop circle at Triangle as we had a big group to do some morning warm ups with 20 SSH, 10 DQ, 19 Imperial Walkers, 20 4 ct LBC’s, 20 American Hammers, 15 reverse Scorpions, 10 Scorpions and 20 merkins.

    THANG

We mosey down the hill to the Pipe loop and partner up where Partner 1(P1) runs the pipe loop (Timer) Partner 2(P2) performs 5 ball dippers, 10 merkins and 15 2ct flutter kicks and repeats until P1 returns. Switch with P1 who performs the 3 exercises while P2 runs the pipe loop. We repeat this 3 times for a total of 4 reps each. Great working out with Gomer Pile and Swirly on this one. The partner teams crushed this circuit!

We need to get back up the hill so we perform a Paula Abdul (two light posts forward, then returning 1 light post back.) The exercise is a Bernie Saunders to 1st light pole, walk to second light pole run back to 1st light pole then Bernie Saunders to 2nd light pole walk to 3rd light pole and repeat until we get to the bottom of the Triangle. We lunge up to the crop circle, then AYG to the field in front of the War memorial tower. This was a great time for some mumble chatter up the hill and I had the pleasure of catching up with Ship Lap on this part of the beat down recovery from pipe loop.

We line up on one side of the field to start Black Jack. This is like 11’s but we go to 21 starting with 1 merkin then run to other side of field to do 20 LBC’s, run back to the start side of field 2 merkins, then to other side of field 19 LBC’s. The total count is 21 reps and we got to 17 merkins(some more) and 4 LBC’s before we needed to mosey back to flag.

    Mary

We circle up and perform about 2 minutes of stretching before COT.

    COT

We circle up Namerama, Numberama discussed a potential CSAUP/BRR coming up in August. Flatline mentioned that his Church’s food pantry needs diapers, formula, mac and cheese and breakfast cereal. Think Costco size here and if you can help please donate. (Flatline, please post details to this BB.)

We also had a Triple Check of brothers below: Munson, Seymour and Malpractice. Way to show up guys, unable to upload photo for security reasons…maybe can get some help from Wilson…

It is an honor to lead you fine men this morning and I look forward to seeing you in the gloom. Cheers…CB

  • Look at the planet

After star gazing for a while hoping the Q would show up Rounders, Yardsale and Trout ventured out on their own hot potatoe.

Yardsale lead the COP with arm circles, pushups and abs. Then Yardsale continued with 4 corners on the blacktop with heels to heaven, LBCs, dips, and squats, went around twice to make it 100 count.

Trout then took over with a triple check. One ran around the parking lot, one did split Jack’s and the other did windshield wipers.

Rounders then took over with ran over to the playground, did some rows, ran a lap, did some rows ran a lap. Then did hound and hair, let yardsale (hair) get a little headstart running back to the car then the hounds were released to chase him down…he almost survived..

Numbered out and rounders took us out to start the weekend.

Great to be back from vacation and seeing everyone this week..Trout

  • Mary Does What She Wants

    Mary Does What She Wants

19 prompt individuals + 1 late arrival showed up for a little running/gearing around Mary. Instructions were given to those that cared, everyone else did what they wanted to do.

Fartleks were the call of the day. 15 minute warm up, 10 1-minute pickups with a 30 minute recovery, 15 minute cool down. Route was east on Grove, north on Malvern, east on Laburnum. Turn around after the 5th interval and reverse course.

Difficulty counting numbers, Difficulty remembering ages, then YHC took us out.

    Moleskin
YHC knows this has been stated before, but those that show up to RAMM seem to do whatever they want to do. Some show up early, some do their own route, some just ignore instructions. Hey, you against you I guess.

Perhaps we don’t need a Q anymore for RAMM? Just show up and figure it all out when you get there? YHC is not trying to stir the pot, but RAMM has to be the loosest AO we currently have on the books.

Nice work to Shiplap, Spit, and Garbage Plate. Thanks for enduring the Fartleks with me. Way to crush it.

    Splinter out

  • Tour of Atlee

2 Runners, 6 miles, and great mumble chatter.

    Spit On Thatt!

  • Clean up Aisle 5

YHC arrived at the base of Satan’s hill with several minutes to spare. In the distance he heard an engine screaming, it was no other than Aisle 5 returning to the gloom for a run heavy boot camp. The rest of the PAX rolled in right at the opening bell. According to YHC’s memory this is how it went down.

    COP SSHx25, Jazzercisex10, DQ’sx10, Helicopterx10, IW’sx10, deadman hang.

The thang was the Tour De Nu Market (aka curl-de-sac tour)

Run up Otterdale hill to opposite entrance to start the fun. Run to each sac 20 of called exercise in sac and 20 at start. Mosey to next intersection. Exercises called were: Merkins, SSH’s (Double sac), LBC’s (double), Drydocks (Double), Squats, 20 Dollies/20 flutters (wildcard). Plank jacks and WWII’s. Back to flag, plank for time. 3.2 miles covered. The tour is a beat down.

Prayers to keep those family and friends traveling safe. Prayers for Honeymoon’s dad and YHC Mom’s. YHC took us out with a message of not looking at what you do not have right now. Look at what you do have. Use this time to explore different things and become closer with your family and close friends. Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Sumpfbestie

5 bilingual redwoods arrived on the sprawling campus of Betty Weaver Elementary School to tackle a long awaited Twin Team VQ for YHC. 5.30 and 4 were about to head off when headlights appeared in the distance. Pigskin, making the trek from Charlotte, came in hot to join the party. Tales have been spread over time but this is how it will be remembered.

Mosey down the James River High parking lot for COT. SSH, DQ’s and Helicopters were on the menu. Warm? lets get to the main course.

Mosey over to the Swamp to utilize the Field for a Beast with the following exercises: plankjacks, doubletap merkins, WWII’s, squats, calf raises, burpees. Everyone looked good, continue on to the parking lot.

5 corners in the parking lot starting at 10 and continuing to 50 count. Exercises included merkins, 2 count American hammers, jump squats, mountain climbers, then up the hill to finish with lbc’s.

Mosey to the back of the school for Bear Crawl Ladder. PAX up against the building alternating between peoples chair and balls to the wall. 1 person bear crawls to the opposite curb and rejoins PAX at the end. 2nd person begins bear crawl. Round 2 switched to lunges.

    BTTF

No announcements or prayers today, YHC took us out.

During COT, Pigskin and Mr. Holland were alternating counts between German and Spanish. YHC can hardly speak English with Math also being a challenge, making it difficult to determine when to stop. This gave us the German title (tclaps to Google Translate).

Welcome Pigskin, up from Charlotte visiting his family and possibly relocating to Richmond in the future. Turns out Mr. Holland and Pigskin are long lost distant family friends and possibly cousins from Mathews county. Small world.

Enjoyed working with you gentleman this morning. YHC has been looking to Q Twin Team for a while since Doozy brought me out a few months ago. Happy to avoid the Twin Team hill but only assume it will be revisited in upcoming AO’s. Stay safe this weekend and seize the day.
