  • Respect-ful Turnout

Two geriatric-veterans turned out for a extended trail run covering various scenes and sites of the RVA river banks. Having ignored the prior day’s weather forecasts of torrential rain, cloudy and cool conditions prevailed to make it a perfect morning for a long run. Social-D was practiced among the pax who took two separate routes. Great second-F in the ETs parking lot using the bed of a Lally Construction vehicle as a yardstick.

Inaugural Capital Trail Quarantine 50 miler next Saturday. See TYA or Olivander for details.

A nudge by Corporate early in the week to fill a gap in the Q sheet was just what YHC needed.  Far too long and few DogPile Q’s highlight YHC’s file.  Great to have Flatline back out in the gloom.  He remains the F3 Covid Czar and instructs the PAX to watch how things go in Sweden with herd immunity.  Though he hopes for a halfcourt shot vaccine in 8 months he suggests that everyone forget about sports and concerts for a really long time.  On a far less serious note, ask Gomer to demonstrate his new and improved version of Gorilla Humpers and ask Hardywood to show you his Real World audition tape.

    Memorial Day Murph

  • Saturday Morning Book Club

Just when you thought Hardywood and Swirly couldn’t get anymore super, they decided to run to the run before the workout. Next week, they plan to run to the run before the run to the thing. Along their merry way they picked up 3 more. Just to keep things fresh, the PAX took a right on Freeman off of Cary and proceeded past City Stadium to Douglasdale, to Blanton, Rugby, and Pumphouse back around to DogPile launch. Route after the thing was direct. Roughly 4 miles were covered. Hardywood will be putting out his own Best Sellers list soon.

Numberama, Namerama, Announcements, The Carpenter took us out

    MOLESKIN

Another great showing for our temporary Saturday morning workout. Great to see Helix and Pavarotti who don’t normally come out during the week.

The Carpenter set a record today. First time he has post twice in one week in over 6 to 9 months, haha

Its always great to make it out to “The Hill” aka Circle K’s hill. Since its back in the woods and a good mile run to get there, we typically only use it in the last Spring and Summer when its lighter out in the gloom. It never false to beat us down

Welcome to Spook! Neighbors with Pavarotti, he pushed through the workout even thou running is not his thing

No major announcements this morning other than The Carpenter M (Laurie) seem have turned the corner with this illness she has been dealing with. Prayers also for all those still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • THUGZZZZZZ

1 Monster and seventeen other dudes posted on the perfect morning for a run. Weather was 70 and sunny. Route was west on Grove to 3Chopt, put a foot on 3chopt, run back to MM to the bus circle. Thugs ran the whole shabang and crushed it. Most of the supporters did 5k the hardway (25 merkins and 25 squats every 1/2 mile).

Congrats to THUGGZZZZZZ for dedicating himself to something and getting after it. In that light, he announced post run that he would do a 10K at the beginning of August. The first annual Bone Thug 10k is now on the books.

      • Luck of the draw with all those burpees.
    • Great work gents!

  • Can you trademark a mile?

5 warriors rose from the various fart sacks this morning to sharpen themselves at the Forge. Here is how it went down:

Singer Mile Warm Up: Run down to the cul de sac and back catching the parking lots along the way for a cool 1 mile and fulfill the monthly challenge. YHC inadvertently named this the DTH mile but found out Wedding Singer pioneered this route. YHC soon found out hills suck.

COP 1: Circle up for 10 exercises: DQ’s, Helis, Cherry Pix, Merkins and Scorpian kicks

COP 2: Recently it seems 4 corners has replaced the Beast so why not bring it back. Moseyed to the middle parking lot for 6 stations of 6 exercises 6 times. Rounds included Double Tap Merkins, WWII’s, Mountain Climbers, American Hammers, Jump Squats and to the PAX relief Flutterkicks instead of Burpees.

COP 3: 5 man rotation: Each man on an exercise with timer running down the hill and bearcrawling back up. Exercises were incline merkins, LBC’s, Jump Squats, Crab Cakes.

COP 4: Still time on the clock allowed Doozy to introduce his Mankillers to a few of the PAX. Did the tough end of a 10 pack as time required an audible after 5.
