  • there’s no Dirty in fighting

As YHC neared the AO he was thankful to see other PAX members as many of the PAX said they may have tight backs this morning from lifting heavy the night before. YHC hasn’t picked up a Q in some time and had flashbacks of one of his first Qs on the way in to the AO. Due to the actions of TYA one saturday at Dog Pile, YHC had a misunderstanding of the Beast and confused the PAX on one of those first Q’s. The grumblings concerned the Q so he inquired and was enlightened by the seasoned vets. Apparently he was doing the beast the hard way. So, the plan this morning was to slay the beast the hard way. The PAX all mosey’d from home to the AO, so YHC decided to jump right into stretching out some tight backs.

    COP

The typical combo of Jazzercise, helicopters, DQ’s and merkins that the PAX enjoys doing in front of passer’s by. Then a short mosey by the warriors to engage the Altered Beast of New Market.

    Altered Beast

    Excercises build progressively prostitute style

6 merkins up and back at each stop, then 6 merkins + 6 double count mountain climbers and so on…

merkins, mountain climbers, LBCs, APDs, hello dollys, Rosalitas

With the beast properly slain and Dog Pound not pooped out yet we mosey’d back to the Flag for a victory training session at Dan’s Dojo.

The Dojo featured an assortment of

front kicks, round kicks, squats, timed jab/cross/uppercuts bursts, horse stance punching, Mr Miyagi’s (collar bone crushers), shuuto’s (soloplex busters) and sliding side kicks. A short discussion with Wilson was had as to whether crushing an opponent’s head was better for properly defeating an attacker as opposed to going straight for big jim and the twins.

YHC got the feeling that his martial artist beast masters were properly debriefed. On to a modified DORA

partner up for 50 merkins, 75 LBC’s while partner hits the hill

With Nancy, Wilson and Dog Pound making light work of the Mod DORA we did a ring of MARY, merkin Ring of Fire and called it.

Love the PAX, prayers we said for all of those out there in the matrix. Keep your head up, stay strong and we’ll be seeing you soon.

“Never put passion in front of principle, even if you win, you’ll lose.”

    –Mr. Miyagi

  • Whoopie, Viagra and Social Distancing at DogPile

YHC is always excited about a Dogpile Q and did some homework in anticipation of a large crowd and keeping our workout groups to 10 or less people, with 16 showing up for a nice cool morning for a workout this was going to be easy. YHC immediately had everyone number off 1,2 1,2(this took a couple of times as we kept going 1,2,3,4…you know it is F3 after all!) so we had 2 groups of 8! Awesome, ready for the fun to begin and here is how it went down:

    The THANG part 1

Group 1 (Timer) went to the crop circle East of the Tower for some warmups (SSH, Russian Soldiers, DQ’s, LBC,s Alabama Prom Dates(it was still dark), merkins and helicopters. We started at the top with lunges to intersection, run down the hill, 20 LBC’s, bernie saunders up the hill and 20 merkins, repeat with Karaoke up the hill(switching half way, ) and third rotation with Bernie Saunders up the hill. This being completed we moseyed to long field at the tower to relieve Group 2

Group 2(AMRAP) started at the long field with COP warm ups then did 4 corners around the entire field.

Corner 1 – 10 burpees runs to Corner 2 for 20 merkins run to Corner 3 for 30 squats and run to Corner 4 for 40 2 ct flutter kicks. Rinse and repeat waiting on Group 1 to switch.

We switched and Group 2 was at the Triangle and Group 1 long field at the tower. Group 1 had a lot of mumble chatter during this rotation hence the title of the BB, as we did not have ET’s to sit and catch up, this was great to joke around and get in some of the Fellowship F!

    The THANG Part 2

With both groups completing the rotations we hand out the next cards with the following:

Group 1(Timer) mosey to the bowl behind the Amphitheater for 11’s. Starting at the wall 10 donkey kicks, bottom of hill 5 merkins, top of the other side we did 1 2 count ball dippers(YHC said Bonnie Blairs and that started a discussion of how many speed skaters could we name…I think we got to 4). ran to bottom of hill 5 merkins, to wall, 9 donkey kicks. We got to 8 donkey kicks and 3 Ball dippers stopped so Group 2 can have some of this fun and moseyed to the cage to relieve Group 2.

Group 2(AMRAP) mosey to cage and round 1 was 5 pull-ups, 10 merkins and 15 squats, round 2 was 5 Jerkins, 10 WW2 sit-ups and 15 2 count American Hammers. Back to round 1 then 2 if possible.

Group 1 performed Round 1 and 2 at the cage and moseyed back to pick up Group 2 at the bowl to return to the flag.

    COT

We return to the flag for namerama and numberama and announcements. The group took a knee and YHC took us out.

Last Resort is a new AO on Mondays starting at 5:30am, had 6 F3 vets and no FNG’s, will keep going and hope to get some FNG’s as last week was a 40 degree rain morning.

First watch is happening @ 5am on Wednesdays.

Flipper is working on a Food drive between 10 and 3pm on Wednesday where they are collecting food for people in need. Flipper, please reply to the BB on the details.

It is always an honor to lead gentlemen, Ether, thanks for your help this morning leading group 2. Have a great weekend! CB

  • It finally happened

Social distancing was all too easy this morning as a PAX of one hit Twin Team. Here’s what went down…

Mosey to the Swamp only to find the Swamp nicely locked up. Parking lot it is.

    COP:

    DQs and Russian Soldiers

    BOMBS:

    Burpees x 30

    Overhead presses x 40

    Merkins x 50

    Big boy sit-ups x 60

    Squats x 70

After each exercise, take a lap around the parking lot.

    Lightpole Mary:

Perform 50 (single count) of an exercise at each lightpole before heading to the next. Exercises included American Hammers (at 5 light poles cause it’s my favorite), Flutter Kicks, Freddie Mercury’s, Rosalitas, Hello Dollys, etc.

Very long mosey to jungle gym.

Pull-ups: Got in a few rotations of pull-ups. Don’t remember how many…but it wasn’t that many.

    Mosey back to the flag.

No numbers, no names, but YHC took himself out.

YHC has heard about solo postings but has never experienced one. This morning, with the New Market crew keeping their distance and what appears to have been a rebuke of social distancing at RAMM, YHC posted for his first solo workout. Not a fan…missed my brothers this morning.

  • What do we do now?

5 of New Market’s finest posted for the latest edition of NM beat down. It went like this.

    Run to clubhouse.

    COP: 25 SSH, 10 Jazzercise, 10 DQ’s, 10 Cherry pickers, 20 IW’s, 20 Russian soldiers, 20 merkins, 20 LBC’s.

Mosey next store to new market 2. Run to each intersection or corner. Do 20 merkins at each stop (6-7 stops). Plank for 6 at model home. Continue circle doing 20 WWII’s at each stop (x6 more). Run back to clubhouse. Logged a good 1.5 miles in the circle? 12 minutes to go and Honeymoon shouted what do we do now (hence the name). Curby trot. Spaced 6 feet everyone get to a corner of the lot. Shuffle to next corner, flip shuffle to next corner then Bernie to next corner. Repeato for 2 lot circles. 5 minutes left. Ring of fire finish with merkins and plank. Great work this AM. Apologies for day late on post.

YHC took us out in prayer. Prayers to those with Covid-19 and to healthcare workers and to all those being impacted. Be the strength for others in this time of challenges. Honored to lead.

  • “Allison, this is the only size they come in”

22 Social Distance Runners and Riders posted (in small groups) to get their minds and bodies right.

The route: Grove to Boulevard (turn left) to Hanover (turn right) to negative split timer. Turn around come home – faster. Negative splits were the order of the day.

    4 milers: 23 minutes out / 22 minutes back.

    5 miles: 23:30 out / 21:30 back.

    6 milers: 24 out / 21 back.

Push yourselves. Don’t hurt yourselves. The other order of the day.

Prayers to everyone as we/they navigate through these uncharted waters. But know this, it will pass, and when it does, we’ll all be better and stronger on the other side.

  • Anything longer than 2 seconds is considered cuddling!

Here is how it went down today. Met at clubhouse 5:30am! Four runners & Annie took off to grab desired mileage. Two took off to complete the Murph. Honeymoon took us out.

New Market has been very diligent in practicing socal distancing during the Corona Virus era. We might even have enough PAX to create a new AO?

YHC has not Q’d in a LONG time and frankly I do miss it, but what I miss even more is the large groups of exceptional men I get to interact with each workout. I even though now that I have been grounded from travel through April, I might get to connect with them (even my NE Patriot friends). NOPE – Social Distancing is now a thing.

While keeping our distance is necessary to getting life back to some normalcy, I do not want us to forget how to Bro Hug! See video for a reminder!

Have a great weekend and it was great to see you men this am!

  • Tobit +1

Four socially distant warriors of the gloom arrived at Timberwolf and found a Hot Potato Q. Here’s how it went down.

    Bullseye COP:

    • Don Quixote
    • Windmills/Helicoptors
    • Side Straddle Hops
    • Merkins
    • Copperhead Squats
    • Etc.

Mosey to bus loop hill for elevens of Merkins and Jump Squats. Bernie Sanders up the hill each round. Unfortunately Tobit was the only one with the ability to appropriately count. So the rest of us just added one to his count.

Next came 3 rounds of Crawl Bears up the adjacent hill to the edge of the woods.

Tobit’s turn for a Dora, rotating one partner runs full bus loop while the other does:

    • 50 Burpees
    • 200 LBCs
    • 300 Monkey Humpers

    Boberry Q

Mosey around back of school for alternating Balls to the Wall, People’s Chair, and Donkey Kicks then BTTF

Number-a-ma, name-o-rama, announcements: prayers for Tobit’s relative who is self employed and business is shut down due to COVID19. YHC is reading a book through church men’s book club that seems to be relevant to the F3 demographic: The Common Rule by Justin Early, highly recommend.

    PeeDee took us out.

  • When Small PAXs are a Good Thing

A CDC sponsored, socially responsible workout today at Circus.  Physical spacing and relatively modest numbers should not fool you.  Three modern warriors showed great commitment yet practiced social distancing this morning.  Here is how it went down:

    • COP
      • 40 SSH
      • 15 IW
      • 10 DQ
      • 15 helicopters
      • 20 merkins
      • 50 2x LBC
      • 25 2x APD
    • AMRAP challenge – 30 seconds of an exercise (series of 4-5 in each round) with decreasing intervals of rest in subsequent rounds (starts at 20 seconds, down 15, 10 and 5)
      • Set #1 – high pulls, halos, swings, curls, and squats
      • Run the bus loop
      • Set #2 – sit ‘n presses, overhead pulls and American hammers
    • COP sans ball of man with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX this morning.  Lighthouse is a faithful warrior, and good to have Byproduct out on the west end as he engages in social distancing from everyone but his girlfriend.  Stay well and safe men!  Make sure you are caring for others right now.

God is good all of the time!

    Attila

  • Blackjack

When the fog cleared, four southside regulars appeared from their vehicles to run around various parking lots at the school. The theme – 21, or 19, or 11.

Thang: Mosey to far school parking lot – warm up with SSH, Don Q, squats, mountain climbers, LBCs.

21s, or Covid-19s – start in parking lot circle near light, run one loop, perform one merkin, run second loop, perform two merkins, repeat up to 21.

JITFO long way back to flag

    Moleskin:

Thanks for showing up, YHC thought it may be a solo gig without a Q on the schedule at 5:00 AM. Social distancing was ever present. Numbers are dwindling but YHC is hopeful F3 will remain in effect with small numbers and mindful Q approaches.

21s were brutal and monotonous. Thanks to P Trap for taking the lead and finishing up first for the PAX. No this isn’t YHC’s 21st birthday Last Call, but YHC appreciates the gesture.

    Stay safe ya’ll.
